SIMON

"You almost ready?" I called out to Izzy from the front door. "Yeah." She called back. A few seconds later Izzy came jumping around the corner and met me at the door. "You never wear that." I said while looking at her outfit. She was wearing black pants and a sweatshirt. She also had on tennis shoes and not her usual high heels. Her face turned serious for a moment. "I can go change." She said and I quickly corrected the misunderstanding. I smiled at her. "No. I love it." I said to her. She relaxed instantly. "Ready?" I asked her again. She smiled back at me and put her hand in mine. "Ready."

"Where are we going anyway?" She asked me as we walked on the sidewalk. I smiled down at her. "You'll see." I said. She started to pout in hopes to get me to crack. It was one of the cutest things she does. I almost spilled the location so I quickly looked away from her.

We continued to walk along the sidewalk for a long while. We made silent conversation by looks and smiles.

"Are we almost there?" She asked me after an hour of walking. "No." I said with a slight chuckle. She rolled her eyes playfully at me. "When will we be there?" She asked me. "You'll just have to see." I said to her. "Not fair." She muttered under her breath. I looked at her and she smirked.

We finally reached where our journey would first begin. "Why are we at a forest?" She asked me. I smiled down at her. "We're just beginning our journey." I informed her. She rolled her eyes again. "Ok." She said in a funny voice. We both laughed. I grabbed her hand and we made our way into the group of trees.

"It's hard to walk in these shoes." Izzy said halfway into the forest. We were making our way over fallen trees and large bushes. "Those shoes are hard to walk in?" I asked her in disbelief. "So you're saying high heels would be easier?" I asked her. "Yes." She said with pride. "I dont even know what to say to that Izzy." I said while chuckling. She managed to finally catch up to me.

"Then dont talk and just act." She said. I was about to question what she meant by 'act' but I quickly figured it out. She leaped into my arms unexpectedly and I quickly caught her. "Nice reflexes. I thought you might drop me." She said to me. "Me drop you?" I scoffed. "Never." I said to her. She smiled and kissed my cheek. I felt my face go red.

"Awe! I made you blush." She said with pride. I rolled my eyes. "Its the wind. Its cold out." I said under my breath. "Whatever you say." She said without believing a word I had said. She nuzzled her head into my neck while we– I walked. It seemed as if she was sleeping.

I walked for another thirty minutes with a sleeping Isabelle in my arms. "We're here." I whispered to her. I felt her eyes open and her head immediately looked up. I watched as she took in her surroundings. I set her down on the ground. "Its beautiful." She whispered to me.

In front of us was a beautiful little cabin that overlooked a lake. Trees surrounded us. She smiled at me and ran towards the cabin. I followed.

"How did you find this place?" She asked me. I shrugged. "I was hunting and found it. Thought it would be a nice little place for us to come and visit." I replied to her. Her smile widened. "I love it." She said to me.

Once she explored the entire cabin she pulled me outside to see the lake. We stood there admiring the water for a few minutes. I casually slipped off my shoes and she didnt notice. Without warning I picked Izzy up in my arms. She giggled at me and I carried her closer to the water. She finally caught on to what I was doing. "You wouldn't." She said with her eyes wide. I gave her a mischievous smile. She started to shriek and struggle her way out of my arms. "No! No! Simon! No!" She said while still struggling. I started to run on the dock and then in an instant I jumped with her in my arms. She shrieked as we hit the water.

We came to the surface laughing. She splashed me playfully with water. "You are so mean." She said with a smile. "I know." I replied while matching her smile with my own.

Suddenly a loud sound made us both jump slightly in the water. The sound was followed by flashing lights in the sky. We were silent and then the rain set in. We broke the silence with laughter.

The rain came down harder and Izzy came closer to me. She wrapped her arms around my neck as we floated. "Thank you." She said to me. I kissed her gently. "Of course." I replied. I felt her start to shiver against me. "Come on. Let's go inside." I said to her. She nodded her head and we swam to the dock.

Once we reached the dock we ran through the pouring rain to the cabin. When we got inside we began to dry off. "It is freezing out there." I said. She laughed. "You're telling me." She said. I smiled at her.

Since I had dried off faster than Izzy, I walked into the other room and over to the fireplace. I started it immediately. When I finished I felt her hands wrap around me. I smiled and we walked over to the couch together. Once we were comfortable, I threw a blanket over us to keep us warm.

"I love you Simon Lewis." She said to me. "I love you Isabelle Lightwood." I replied. I kissed her gently on the lips.

We sat there on the couch for the rest of the night listening to the rain hit the roof of the cabin.
