MAGNUS

It had been an hour since we knew Alec was gone. The rest of his family had come in tears. Max was sitting on the bed holding his now dead brother's hand. Maryse and Robert were sitting quietly in the corner with tears running down their face. They had already said their goodbyes to Alec and let Max spend some more time with him. After about an hour, they left to continue running the Institute.

I was currently sitting in the chair farthest away from the bed. I felt so empty. It was like I didnt even know myself anymore. I felt the need to cry, but there were no tears left to shed. I was so lost in my own train of though I didnt know what was going on around me.

"Magnus?" I heard a soft voice whisper. I looked up to see Izzy looking at me. Her eyes were red and there were tear stains on her face. She lightly put her hand on my shoulder. "Are you alright?" She asked me. I was unable to answer. I knew I wasn't, but I couldn't burden her when she had just lost her brother. "Are you?" I asked her. My voice was thick with tears. she sighed and sat down next to me. "No. But I will be. We all will be." She said to me. "How can you be so positive?" I asked her. I wished I could feel that way. "Believe me... it's not easy." She replied with a sad smile.

I looked down at my hands. They were shaking. I shut my eyes tightly hoping that I could forget about the pain. I felt cool fingers gently wrap theirs in mine. I sighed, relaxing slightly. "You look tired. You should go home and rest." Izzy said sweetly. I looked up at her with sad eyes. "I cant leave." I started. I felt like my own breath was getting caught in my throat. "If...if I leave..." I took another deep breath hoping to calm myself, but it wasn't working to my liking. "Then it will be real." I whispered to her. I wasn't sure if she even heard me, but when she pulled me in for a hug I knew she had.

I held onto her tightly. I was afraid to let go of the welcoming arms. It reminded me of Alec. "We will keep him here until tomorrow. I will call you a couple hours before. Go home and rest." She said kindly. I nodded glumly and got up off the chair. I chanced a glance at Alec just before I vanished out of the room.

I arrived in seconds in my loft. I went straight to the little table that was filled with my strongest drinks. I immediately grabbed a glass, but then chucked it while grabbing the whole bottle instead.

I made my way out to the balcony. I sat down on the couch that was overlooking the city. While opening up the bottle I watched as the sun slowly crawled its way up in the sky. I never had really checked what time it was when I left. Apparently I was there all night. It only took me ten minutes to finish the bottle before I conjured up another one.

It was about two hours later when I had clumsily walked inside to my bed. I had had at least three full bottles. "Or was it four?" I thought to myself. I tripped over myself and landed on the bed. Within three seconds I was passed out.

"Magnus?" I heard a voice call out in worry. I woke up in an instant, extremely startled. I looked at the clock. It was 6 o'clock at night. The sudden movement made my head throb. "Magnus?" I heard the voice call again. I slowly turned towards the door to see who it was.
