《Elijah》23

Eli won his fight.

Not like I expected anything less.

And it was time to go.

"You hungry?" he asked as he slipped on a new shirt. "Oh my god I haven't eaten all day." I stated.

"What?" he asked a bit aggressively.

"...I haven't eaten all day." I said nervously.

"Why not?"

"I forgot."

"How do you forget to eat?"

"I don't know. It wasn't on my mind."

"Leyla, you worked out today on an empty stomach? Don't do that again."

"I'm sorry..."

"Come on." he said and took my hand then led us out of the lockerroom.

We walked through the crowd of men and this time I heard nothing. They all just cheered on the fighters in the rings.

We got to the car and pulled off to find something to eat.

We found ourselves at a walk in restaurant but not one as fancy as the one we went to for our first date.

He opened the door for me and followed in after I did.

"Good evening, how can I help you?" The lady at the front podium asked.

"Table for two, please." Eli stated.

"Okay, right this way," she said and we followed after her.

We were given our seats and menus and told our waiter would be right out.

"You realize you could've just gone through a drive thru right?" I laughed.

"Yea, but then you'd have to leave sooner." he said as he read his menu. The comment almost made me giggle like a child but I kept my composure.

"Have you decided on what you wanna do?" I asked.

"Well the votes kind of unanimous, so I guess..."

"You're gonna do it?!" I asked excitedly.

He chuckled. "Yes, baby, I'm gonna do it."

"Great! I'm excited to see how it goes. This is going to be amazing. Just picture it." I promised.

"Yea, we'll see."

Our waiter finally came.

"Good evening, I'll be your server for today. My name is Brandon. Can I start you off with something to drink?" Brandon asked while looking at his notepad.

"Hi, can I-..."

"Hi." Brandon interrupted me with a smile.

"Um...Hello." I greeted again.

"Sorry, you are just very pretty." he stated.

"Yes, she is." Eli agreed and I looked down at the table and covered my face shyly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Um, Carry on with your order." Brandon instructed.

After taking our drink orders he left to prepare them.

"Why's your head down?" Eli asked.

"Because that was embarrassing." I admitted.

"You're embarrassed because you're beautiful?"

"Shut uuupp." I instructed and covered my face with both of my hands.

I could hear him snickering and I uncovered my face to look at him with an unamused expression.

"Sorry," he laughed. "You're just so pretty." He leaned in closer to me.

"Stop it." I said and looked out of the window next to us.

"You don't like it?" he asked and grabbed my hand. I felt him gently place a kiss on it.

It's not that I didn't like it, I like it in private, but in public it's embarrassing.

"I-..."

"Here are your drinks." Brandon came back and propped our drinks on the table.

"Are you guys ready to order?" he asked.

We gave him our orders and watched him walk away.

We finished eating after about an hour and were back in the car.

"I find it cute." Eli stated.

"What?"

"That timidity you have."

"Why?

"Well because I'm not shy."

"I've noticed." I told him.

"What I mean by that is, I have no problem showing you affection in public spaces. So your reaction to the things I do kind of turns me on," he claimed.

"Oh..."

'So do I continue to be shy?' I wondered.

"I'll sit you in my lap and finger fuck you during a press conference if I feel like it," he claimed and my eyes widened.

"Didn't I tell you I like making you shy?" he looked at me and smiled as he pulled into my driveway.

"Yes." I agreed.

"That means I gave you a heads up." he stated and kissed me gingerly.

I got out of the car when our lips parted and walked to the door as he backed out of my driveway.

Work. Again. Can't I just be poor and on the street? So much less effort.

I got dressed in a loose sheer white blouse and red pencil skirt then headed to my car. As soon as I got in my seat I remembered Jon comes back today. Gross.

Then I remembered that my internship is almost over, I have to start looking for a new and real job anyway.

Great.

...

"Hello, Leyla." Expected.

"Hi, Jon." I said but didn't look at him as I filed papers.

"So-..." he began but the sound of scurrying interrupted.

"Look alive, folks!" said James who ran our branch.

He insisted we call him James even though he's our superior because he didn't like the sound of 'Mr. Tullier'. It made him feel old.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"I don't know." Jon answered.

The elevator door dinged and I was definitely not expecting the person that walked out of it.

Eli was in a royal blue dress shirt and grey dress pants with a brown belt and shoes. He even had a toothpick in his mouth and his hands in his pockets. He was in the middle of a conversation with a man who looked half the size of him and was carrying a clipboard whom I'm assuming was his assistant he mentioned before.

'Why why why why why why why...' I thought to myself then turned back around to finish filing.

"Hey, don't you know him?" Jon asked.

"Hm? No." I lied.

"Are you sure? It feels like I've seen him somewhere before," he stated.

"I'm positive." As I said this, Eli walked past my area and didn't speak.

"See." I stated.

"Yea, I guess, but who is he?" Jon watched as Eli and his assistant stepped into James's office.

"You don't know who that is?" I asked.

"Am I supposed to?"

"Jon, his father is Matthews of Marshall and Matthews." I explained.

"Holy shit! And you didn't tell me!" he exclaimed in a whisper. "He's gonna think I'm unprofessional and fire me. I'm gonna go sit down. I'll talk to you later," he said and left my area. I snickered a little from his shock. When he isn't flirting with me he's actually pretty entertaining in conversation.

James left his office and shut the door.

"For the time being, Mr. Matthews will be using my office and you all will be interviewed on your progress so far and just in general on your job descriptions and work experience since being here. I suggest you answer honestly." James explained and walked to the break room.

James' office door opened and the assistant stepped out while Eli stood in the door way.

"Mr. Azier." Eli called then walked back into the office.
