《Demigods Meet Mortals》Holland Fields (Percy Jackson | Jason Grace)

Holland glared at the test sheet in front of him, as if the piece of paper had wronged him in some way. And in a weird way, it kind of did. Holland could vaguely register learning about the Greek and Roman names for the 'Big Three' gods. Frustration bubbled up inside Holland as he tapped the edge of his nails against the flat of his desk. The names shouldn't have been so hard for the blond to remember, and yet nothing was picking at his memories.
But at least he wasn't the only one struggling.
Even from across the room, it was clear to anyone watching that the star student of Greek and Roman mythology was having a little trouble, though it wasn't with the actual test. Jason Grace was one of those people every student envied, always on the right side of law, always willing to try new things, always the born-leader for any situation.
And as if to make matters worse, Jason wasn't only good academically, he was also lucky enough to be athletic and good-looking, something nobody Holland's met has had the privilege of being.
From the back of his head, Holland knew that the smart thing to do was to focus on finishing his test since there was less than ten minutes left to do so. But alas, Holland knew he wouldn't be all that bothered with failing the test - his dad had no care for Greek and Roman mythology, despite them being real, and watching Jason Grace freak out was a whole lot more entertaining than finishing his test.
Jason swore under his breath in what sounded a lot like Greek, though that suspicion was from someone whose last trip to Greece was five years ago, and during that whole trip he never actually heard anyone speak Greek, so in other words, the suspicion had no evidence backing it up.

In one swift motion, Jason threw his only pen into the bin on the other side of the classroom without a second glance, bringing everyone's attention to him. It wasn't everyday they saw someone land a throw perfectly without prior practise. Jason's eyebrows were furrowed, and he pushed the bridge of his spectacles up, blinking once with an uncomfortable shake of his head. From what Holland knew, Jason's only had glasses for a month or so, which clearly wasn't enough time for him to get used to the feeling.
Putting two and two together, Holland figured that Jason probably ran out of ink in his pen, and seeing as how his pencil case was still in his locker on the other side of the school, Jason had no way to fill out the rest of his test sheet.
Holland moved to offer Jason one of his pens, when the blue-eyed scholar turned to the guy sitting next to him.
Holland hadn't talked the Jason's desk-mate much, all he knew was the guy's name and reputation. Percy Jackson, almost never pays attention yet somehow always gets good grades. The one time Holland asked, he had claimed an 'Annabeth' had helped him. If Holland was being honest, he couldn't see Percy and Jason ever being friends in any universe.
"Percy, hey man wake up." Jason hissed. He had said it as quietly as he could, but everyone except the teacher heard. The blond nudged him a few more times before his neighbour finally snapped awake, slamming ram rod straight in his seat with a wild look in his eyes, like a child caught misbehaving in front of their parents.
The dark-haired boy groaned when he realised it was Jason, raising an eyebrow in question. Holland paid more attention than he should've to the exchange. Jason and Percy were polar opposites; one couldn't care less about school rules, the other caring a little too much. A small part of Holland wished for an argument of some kind, he was that thirsty for entertainment.

"What the Hades man?" Percy asked, his voice low and hoarse from just waking up. Jason furrowed his brows, motioning to Percy's pen, laying dangerously close to the edge of his desk. "Got another one?" He asked, letting out a heavy breath when Percy nodded, not seeming completely in tuned with what was going on.
Holland raised an eyebrow when he saw Percy pull a ballpoint pen out from his pocket, handing it to a confused Jason. It was clear they both had the same question in mind: why did Percy have a pen in his pocket?
The dark-haired boy shook his head a few times to wake himself, blowing a strand of hair from his face. He still seemed rather drowsy and confused, but at least more caught up with what was happening around him. And that also meant he started thinking again. Jason turned to his test sheet, moving to uncap the pen lid when Percy let out a protest. "Wait!" He yelped a second too late when Jason uncapped the pen, letting out a yell when the pen morphed into what looked to be a sword.
Jason threw the heavy-looking weapon forwards, the point making a small dent in the wall before falling to the ground with a clatter. In a second, yells had erupted in the classroom, Jason's the loudest. "Seriously man? I needed a pen, not a sword." Jason chided, before freezing in place, Percy doing the same. Both turned to face everyone else in the class, and Percy held up one of his hands like a finger-gun.
"Any chance you guys can ignore that that ever happened?" Percy asked, his tone skeptical.
From somewhere in the class, Holland could hear someone say hell no, but he didn't pay much attention to that. Holland wasn't the smartest person in the room, but even he knew that Jason and Percy were most definitely demigods.
Jason turned to raise an eyebrow at Percy, who in turn just shrugged, before bringing his attention back to everyone else in the classroom. "So long story short, I'm a son of Poseidon, and Superman here is Jupiter's kid." Percy explained swiftly, scanning everyone's faces. Some were shocked, others were curious or angry. All held question.
The two apparent demigods seemed to have a silent agreement, and bolted out the door before anyone could question them, something Holland found rather annoying.
