《Demigods Meet Mortals》Minerva Laurence (Annabeth Chase)

Sorry for the short chapter.
__________
Annabeth hurled her drakon bone sword towards the last giant, letting Artemis then finish him off. The battlefield was littered with bodies, Roman demigods, Greek demigods, giants, Empousai, many monsters.
'Annabeth!'
The daughter of Athena spun around, panting. Off in a distance, she could see the rest of the seven gathering around Percy, Percy.
The son of Poseidon was laying unconscious on the cold grass, Will Solace had crashed down beside him, muttering healing prayers under his breath as he calmly began to treat Percy. Annabeth collapsed beside the dark haired demigod, hands over her mouth.
The boy had his eyes open, he was staring at Annabeth, heartbeat slowing down slowly. Nico was standing off in a distance, his face blank. There was no anger, no sadness, just acceptance. Years ago, he had seen this happen, the son of the Dead had foreseen the death of Perseus Jackson. It was the one death Nico couldn't stop.
And Percy knew it too. He had known from Nico that death was near, and he had accepted it.
The same message dawned on the seven and Will as Percy's heartbeat stopped. And Percy's last words would haunt Nico and Annabeth forever, being a son of Hades had its downsides: Hearing every soul's last words. And Nico could remember every word from his argument with Percy regarding his death as the son of Poseidon whispered his last words.
'Deadlines just aren't real to me until I'm staring one in the face. I love you Wise Girl.'
♡
It had been twelve years. Twelve years since Perseus Jackson, twice savior of Olympus, survivor of Tartarus, and best swordsman in three hundred years had died. It was easier for Nico then it was for everyone else. The minute he had met Percy, he knew the demigod was born for early death. And Nico knew how to keep a secret.

And so, as he waved off Percy in the Underworld five years after his death, the son of Hades could only wonder who he would reincarnate as.
♡
Annabeth walked into the classroom, earlier that day, Nico di Angelo had returned from the Underworld, stating that Percy had been reincarnated. The thought haunted Annabeth, she wanted to meet Percy's new form, but at the same time wanted the former demigod to have a normal life, a life he deserved.
'Alright class, open your books to page eighty-two, today for History we're learning about Greek mythology.' Everyone bounced in their seats, excited. Annabeth smiled, before the classroom door.
Everyone turned to see who had entered. And Annabeth sucked in her breath. The new student looked almost identical to Percy. Just her luck to meet someone who looked like the her former boyfriend.
The boy sat down in his seat, a troublemaker grin playing on his lips. 'Hello Miss Chase, I'm Peter Johnson, nice to meet you.' Annabeth smiled slightly, Dionysus used to call Percy that.
'Anyways, do you have your homework from last term, Peter?' Annabeth asked, and the boy shook his head sheepishly.
'Sorry Miss Chase, deadlines just aren't real to me until I'm staring one in the face.'
The boy then took out his book, and took out a pen identical to Riptide, it even had the blood stain from their trip in Tartarus. Wait. . .
Annabeth's eyes widened, Peter Johnson, Riptide, the words. That was Percy's reincarnation. A single tear fell from Annabeth's left eye, and Minerva, her student, noticed. She was perplexed, why was Miss Chase crying? 'Miss Chase, are you okay?' She had asked, to be responded with a weak and sharp laugh. She glanced briefly at Peter.
'Yes, I'm fine, it's just. . .You remind be of my former boyfriend,' Annabeth had said, as she fingered the small coral on her camp necklace. 'What happened to him?' Peter asked, and Annabeth smiled lightly.
'He died in battle as a hero.'

How the Stars Turned Red
Announcement as of 05 July 2022: I've been diagnosed with some pretty severe nerve damage in my left arm, rendering me unable to write effectively, and as such this story is on hold until it is healed. I am so sorry, and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. In the latter half of the 3rd millennium CE, humanity has spread across the stars, inhabiting close to five-hundred worlds across the Orion Arm. Earth has become irrelevant, a historical has-been. The galactic map is dominated by two mega-factions, both controlling vast amounts of territories either through direct control or through their many allies and treaty signatories. The Kingdom of Aurora is the political and economic hegemon despite consisting of only seven inhabited worlds; their strength lies in the Royal Union, an interstellar commonwealth composing an internal market and a common defence pact. These member worlds are myriad and varied, culturally as well as politically, but they all flock to the same banner. The Independent Systems Alliance, spearheaded by the Republic of Elysium, is the ascendant challenger to Aurora and the Union. A pseudo-federal multi-system polity, the Alliance economy and military is rapidly expanding, but at the cost of effective democratic and meritocratic involvement by its people. However, with two superpowers as this, chafing along a common border, and with a constant clamour of polemics, both sides have become convinced the other is constantly preparing for war and are on the look-out for any perceived weakness in their opponent. The predictable result is a huge arms race and a cold war spreading across the stars, requiring only a spark to set the galaxy aflame. Drawn into this game of high stakes are ordinary men and women, their peaceful lives, hopes, and aspirations swallowed by the vortex of conflict and distrust. This is their story. Cover art by Rhodex Designs (FB). Hope you like long chapters and adjectives. Note: English is not my first language. Another story set in the same universe, written by a good friend
