__________
I frowned as I crossed my arms, Physical Education (P.E.), was my least favourite part of the day, I had nothing against physical work, but P.E. was the worst. And that was probably because of Coach Hedge.
Coach Hedge is a short and grumpy 53 year old man who walked around holding a bat, he always called people cupcake and complain about getting sent to schools again. Apparently he used to be worse, but I digress. Coach Hedge stood in the middle of the field, and everyone gathered around the grumpy short dude after the stretches were completed.
'Alright cupcakes, today we have two new students joining the class,' Coach Hedge called out, the man was short, but he sure was loud. Two girls walked out from behind Coach Hedge, at first I had thought they were the new P.E. Monitors, guess not.
One girl was a little taller than the other, she looked about sixteen, had long black hair gathered in a braid, eyes dark as obsidian, and a frown on her face. The other girl had chocolate brown skin, and frankly, I was jealous, how the hell could anyone's skin be so clear? Anyways, the girl was a little shorter than the other, with she looked to be fourteen. The girl had curly cinnamon brown hair in a ponytail that reached a little under her shoulders, she had striking gold eyes, and her expression was unreadable.
Despite looking like polar opposites, the two girls wore identical purple shirts that said Camp J on it, with faded gold specks after the J, and jeans.
Coach Hedge continued, 'Little Miss Stern here is Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano, and Little Gold Eyes is Hazel Levesque.' The one called Reyna frowned, glancing at Coach Hedge. 'Watch your mouth Hedge, we both know your pronunciation is off point.' I expected Coach to yell at her to do laps, but he just shrugged.
'Alright Cupcakes, we're doing Boot Camp today!'
Everyone let out a collective groan, boot camp with Coach Hedge was the worst. every other teacher would just let us do relays, but Coach let us do literal boot camp, tires, climbing wall, the sorts.
Strangely, Hazel and Reyna exchanged excited grins, which was confusing. Were they actually excited about boot camp? Hazel walked towards Coach Hedge, who was lining everyone up. I rolled my eyes, classic. The girls would say they have some sort of disorder and can't do physical work.
'Coach Hedge, how's Mellie?' Hazel asked, her voice soft, Coach Hedge turned around and raised an eyebrow, his gaze softening just slightly. 'Still trying to find some place to work after the whole Aeolus incident, I'm still trying to find a good gem for the wedding ring to propose with. . .' Coach Hedge's voice trailed off, a grin on his face.

I was obviously confused, it seemed like he was trying to hint at something with Hazel, who rolled her eyes. 'Seriously Coach? I'm not going to give you a jewel, you already know why.' Hazel hissed, and Coach Hedge crossed his arms like a small child throwing a temper tantrum.
'Well fine then, you and Reyna can say goodbye to a harder course.'
Hazel and Reyna both glared at Hedge before getting in line behind me, and everyone was staring at them. They were asking for a harder course?
♡
Coach Hedge was more than unhappy. 'Come on cupcakes, someone beat the five minute twenty-seven record, it's not that hard!' Everyone glared at the Coach, Not That Hard, everyone were frustrated. Up next was Reyna and Hazel against Raine Morris and Tristram Tan. Considering Tristram and Raine were our star athletes, everyone expected them to win.
The whistle blew.
Tristram jumped in, struggling slightly as he made his way through the tires, occasionally stepping in the wrong places, whereas Reyna made her way through double his speed.
Next up was the Jungle Swing, where Hazel and Raine were waiting for their partners. As Hazel and Reyna clapped their hand together, Hazel spun around to complete the obstacle while Reyna ran to the next station. Tristram arrived a few seconds after Reyna, and Raine hurried over to the rope, hoping to redeem their group.
Hazel seemed to have chosen not to swing herself while on the ball that was at the bottom of the rope, and instead ran through the jump pad with the swing in front of her. The girl hopped on the ball at the last minute, landing on two feet. Raine pushed her weight forward, having to wait a few times before getting off the other side.
Hazel jumped off the ball, clapping Reyna's hand before moving on to the last station. Reyna jumped up, making her way through the monkey bars with ease, landing on the ground with a curtsy. Tristram and Raine were both worn out, so Tristram had to spent a few seconds on each bar before continuing.
Reyna and Hazel clapped hands before moving on to the last buddy obstacle, what Coach Hedge liked to call Fall Off. It was a climbing wall with retracting ledges, and every so often water would spray out of hidden compartments above the ledges, making them slippery and harder to grip.
Reyna and Hazel made their way through the first part, the second section was the the retracting ledges. Hazel swung onto the first ledge, like, literally swing like a monkey. She was hanging in mid-air for a few seconds with one hand on the ledge before she hooked her leg over another ledge, and slowly make her way up.

Reyna went for a different technique, she counted the seconds between when each ledge would go off, and moved up counting.
The two moved onto the last section, the wet ledges. Reyna stayed beneath Hazel as the two of the made their way up, somehow not slipping on the ledges. The two seemed to realise shoes against water made it harder, so climbed up purely on upper-body strength, feet dangling in the air. At this point, Raine and Tristram had given up and chose to proceed slowly.
On the other side of the wall was a few mattresses for jumping down on when they almost reached the ground, but it seemed Reyna and Hazel didn't realise that. The two exchanged grins before going down. Reyna jumped down, doing a cartwheel forward as she landed on the grass in front of the mattresses. Hazel jumped off, doing a forward roll onto the grass.
The two reached forward and pressed the buzzer, and somehow, they completed the obstacle in a minute and twenty seconds.
Coach Hedge seemed not surprised at all, 'Well girls, that took longer than I anticipated.' Hazel and Reyna just exchanged shrugs before coming back to join the group. The whole class was silent as Reyna and Hazel didn't even seem to have broken a sweat.
The silence was broken by a van with the words: Delphi's Strawberry Service painted on it, either the van was new, or it just had a new paint job. Anyways, the van drove in, stopping at the parking area near us. Nine teenagers aged from around thirteen to eighteen filed out, with a blond surfer dude sitting in the driver's seat, completely covered up as if it were winter.
There was a blond boy with his arm around a shorter black haired boy, the two opposites were leaning against the van's sliding door, whispering to each other about something. There were two other couples there too. A black haired, green eyed boy and a blond haired California girl with grey eyes.
The two were heading our way along with another couple, a boy with blond hair and blue eyes and a girl with choppy brown hair and kaleidoscope eyes. There was also a tall Chinese looking guy walking over, wearing baggy clothes to hide his muscular build. The Chinese boy was talking with a shorter girl that reached his chin, she was dressed in black with a silver jacket over her clothes. The girl had shoulder length black hair that was slightly spiky, which gave me the impression it was grown out.
The girl was definitely strange, she wore a weird silver crown or head band of some sort, and had a big wide bag that looked like the one the Chinese guy had over his shoulder. There was also a short boy with elvish features and a yellow tool belt.
The green eyed boy came up to us with his friends. Coach Hedge walked in front of the class, a frown on his face, but the boy held his finger in front of Coach's face before he could speak to indicate silence.
'Sorry to barge in like this Gleeson, but we need Reyna and Hazel at camp for a bit, and don't worry, Grover still remembers your bargain with him.' The boy said, and the blond girl beside him rolled her eyes, turning to us.
The blond dug her elbow into the boy's side, before motioning to us, it looked like that hurt, but no pain flashed across the boy's face. 'Oh. . .Right.'
The black haired girl with blue eyes scanned us, before pointing towards everyone in their group.
'Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Jason, Leo, Frank, I'm Thalia, and the two love birds by the car who thinks we can't see them over there are Will and Nico.' The girl called Thalia said, Piper glanced at us. 'Try to tear apart Will and Nico, and I will destroy you,' She whispered harshly at us, before blinking a few times, seemingly confused.
'I hate my mother.'
♡
SPOILER BEGINS HERE
Everything else happened in a blur, the group took Reyna and Hazel, and the next time I saw them at school again, both looked awful and were talking about twelfth legion and a dead Jason Grace or something.
Everything else happened in a blur, the group took Reyna and Hazel, and the next time I saw them at school was a year later, and they both looked awful.
Reyna and Hazel were always talking in what seemed to be Ancient Greek, they were exchanging pictures of a blond boy who I've seen before somewhere. They always went out the the field to spar in fencing club even though they weren't fencing when seeing someone blond or someone who was called Jason.
And weirdest of all, they were often exchanging tales of a blond haired, blue eyed 'Son Of Jupiter', named Jason Grace.

Immovable Mage
What do you call a mage incapable of casting spells? In this story, we usually call him Terry. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone. All the bigger is the eventual disappointment when Terry turns out to be an utter failure at spellwork. Diagnosis? Major aspect impairment. No cure. Ever. Faced with expulsion, Terry is blessed with the unexpected kindness of others. Terry loses his spot in the Academy but in exchange, he finds a home with a family. Terry starts to train as a pure mana cultivator but never stops looking for his own path as a mage – day after day, season after season, always searching for compatible spellwork… Until finally, Terry’s perseverance earns him a single spell – the only spell he will ever be able to cast. Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry. Overview: 001–030 Arc 1, Cultivating Perseverance: complete. 031–060 Arc 2, Undying Defiance: complete. 061–090 Arc 3, Unyielding Fury: scheduled for publishing. 091–120 Arc 4, Savage Hope: scheduled for publishing. 121–150 Arc 5, Self-Made Fate: first draft in progress. 151–180 Arc 6, Heretic Style: sketching in progress. 8 200How to Save a Star [BxB]
“Do you know that stars die?” I asked, breaking the silence.
