《Country Living - Finn Harries (JacksGap)》Chapter 3: Early Mornings

Morgan's POV
I woke up in my bed this morning. Wait, how did I get here? I don't remember heading up here last night. Oh, well. After I quickly showered and changed in a blue Simple Southern t-shirt, a pair of mid-calf leggings, and a pair of black Nikes, I went and did my morning chores of feeding the horses, cows, pigs, and chickens, milking the cows, and gathering eggs, all before 6:30 in the morning. I walked into the kitchen to see a note on the counter.
'Morgan, had to take Mom into town for treatment. Please take Josie to daycare and show twins around the farm. Love you, Dad.'
"Sissy, where is Mommy?" Josie asked as she walked into the kitchen, still in her pjs. "She and Daddy had to go into town for her cancer club." I told her. We call Mom treatments 'cancer club meetings' for Josie's sake. "Ok." She said, yawning a little. "Go get dressed for daycare while I make you breakfast. Scrambled eggs sound good?" I asked her. "Yay! With cheese please!" she cheered. "Hey, we have to be quiet, the twins are still asleep." I said before she ran to her room to get ready. I began to make scrambled eggs as she went and got ready. Although I don't like the idea of living with strangers, I guess the British twins can sleep in, just for this morning. If I have to get up at 4:30 that means everyone has too. I guess I can be generous and make them breakfast as well.
"What is that amazing smell?" I heard a British voice asked, scaring the crap out of me. I quickly turned around to see one of the twins, Jack or Finn, I didn't know which was which. His brown hair was tousled and his shirt wrinkled. I guess he just woke up. "God, you scared me. I thought you were still asleep." I said, turning back around to finish breakfast. "Yep, I'm definitely up early. What are you doing up this early?" the twin asked. "I had chores. Also, Mom and Dad had to leave early this morning to get into town for Mom's *whispers* cancer treatments." I said, making sure Josie couldn't hear. "I have to get Josie to daycare. I decided to make breakfast for everyone." I said as I cooked. "My I join? Taking Josie to daycare, if it's not any trouble." He asked, scratching the back of his neck. "Well, that depends. Do you want to go horse riding at 7 in morning?" I asked, pulling out a plate for Josie's eggs. "Wait, horses? Don't you have a car?" he asked, confused. "We only have the truck. Dad took it into town. We use to have two, but Josh took that one to college. I'm left with the horses." I said, plating Josie's eggs with a few small pieces of bacon. "Breakfast." I said, loud enough to not wake up the other twin. "Yay!" Josie said, running into the kitchen in a white t-shirt, a pair of pink shorts, and a pair of pink Sketchers. "Look, sissy, I tied my shoes by myself." She said proudly, sticking her foot in the air. "Good job, Josie. Is it ok for the twin to come with us to daycare?" I asked her as he grabbed a piece of bacon from the plate. "Sure...Finn can come." She said, staring at him before she said his name. "Nice, don't leave without me." The twin, Finn I guess, said before going upstairs to change.

Just as Josie and I finished with breakfast, Finn appeared, wearing a black 'Straight Out of Compton' t-shirt, skinny jeans, black vans, and a pair of black Ray Bans in hand. "Ready." He said. I put a note on the counter, letting Jack know his breakfast was in the oven. "To the horses!" Josie said enthusiastically, racing to the stables, making both Finn and I laugh as we followed her. "Who do we ride today?" I asked, grabbing a larger saddle. "Prince Caspian." Josie said, unlatching his stall. "Great choice." I said, as I stepped inside to put the saddle on the already ready horse. "Did you name him, Morgan?" Finn asked as he leaned on the stall doorway. "Yeah, when he was born, I was reading the Narnia series. His mother's name was Esmerelda, which is Prince Caspian's mother in the series, so I had to name him Caspian. It was destiny." I said, making him laugh a little. "I'm guessing your brother named these two." He said, pointing at Payton's and Brady's stalls. "Yuck, football." Josie said as she stood outside the stall. "Yep." I said as we giggled at her comment. "I named Missy, but we can't ride her to daycare yet." Josie said, running over to the pony's short stall so you could see her. "Come on, Josie. Let's get your helmet on." I said, leading Caspian out of the stall. As I left him to get her helmet, I saw Finn rub his nose. That's weird. Caspian doesn't let strangers pet him. "What's up?" Finn asked, seeing me stare at him as he petted my horse. "Nothing." I said, putting Josie's helmet on her head. "He's a pretty horse." Finn said. "Yeah, he is." I agreed, still confused at why Caspian hasn't made a sound with Finn touching him. "You look confused." Finn said, dropping his hand from Caspian. "It's just...Caspian doesn't usually let strangers touch him like that." I said, as we walked over to them. "I guess I just have that special touch." Finn said, laughing a little, winking at me, making me playfully roll my eyes. I jumped onto Caspian and Finn lifted Josie to sit in front of me. I put out my hand to help him up, but he didn't take it. He looked confused at us, like he didn't know how to get on a horse. "Left foot in the stirrup, kick over with your right." I said, looking down at his hopeless figure. He put his left foot up, grabbed my hand, setting off sparks, and kicked over, sitting down in the saddle. "You have a lot to learn, city boy." I said behind me as he got comfortable, resting his arms at my hips, softly laughing. "To daycare!" Josie said, making us laugh at I led Caspian out of the stables.

Daughters of the Void
Emily is a high school student. Too tall and developed for her age. Her will has been broken, so now, she is fearful and insecure. But that, doesn't explain why those around her bully and despise her. Perhaps... it is related to the dark and deep secret that she has inexplicably forgotten? What made her forget it? The strange being, with whom Emily once made a pact, intends to find out what has happened. To do so, will take her to a world terribly different from this one. Why does it take her to another world? Why did Emily forget what makes her different? Why the hell, all of a sudden, can Emily see three floating panels in the middle of the darkness? What is this? A video game with a lush green-eyed redhead as the main character? Daughters of the Void is a story told from multiple points of view, which occur in parallel. As if they were several series in one, where each protagonist advances at their own pace. At first, the story of each character will advance slowly, so I ask you to be patient. Soon, you will discover a story of extreme survival in a medieval fantasy world. A story, a bit dark, that can also be a bit comical at certain moments. But above all, it can be harsh and cruel to its protagonists. I’ve introduced LitRPG elements in a very soft and almost non-existent way at the beginning of the story. As the story progresses, they will become more and more abundant, depending on the protagonist. Emily is the main and first protagonist of "Daughters of the Void". After her; Dianna, Tanya and others. Above all, I’m looking for your immersion, so I will make you aware of most of the thoughts of the protagonists. I also want the reader to feel some uncertainty, putting yourselves in the shoes of some girls who can't find what they lack. I look for realism, but also to surprise myself. Around chapter 25 there is an awakening of the protagonists. Moment in which they will begin to behave as they really want to be. Unrivaled adventurers. Heroines of legend. The secondary protagonists were created to cover some deficiencies that I noticed that the series had when it was only Emily, so their chapters will be more sporadic. Tags and warnings give me creative freedom. This is the first story I've written, although they are not my first drawings. Be kind with your reviews. I know everything can be improved. Also, English is not my native language, neither is my brother's. He’s the one who translates the story. Constructive feedback is always welcome. We learn day by day. Everything helps us to improve the quality of this humble project. Let us know what you think.
