Morgan's POV

A few days have passed since we arrived home; Josie insists that she skip school and that 'saving the world' was much more important than finishing her high school education. I greatly enjoy sleeping in my own bed, but spending time with Jackson has made me realize even more just how important getting back his money truly is. We as a team have been working on our show, we're just waiting for the 'ok' from Uncle Dylan to pick up supplies. We've all been really focused; all of us except for Daniel. I don't know what it is, but every time I look over at him, it looks like his head is in the clouds. He's usually more focused than this. It is sort of worrying me. I mean, he looks cute when he's in the clouds, but, as I said before, Daniel never acts like that.

"Morgan, I'm going out for a company lunch. I'll hopefully be back before the boys get off for school." Mom said as I sat in my room, planning out how we would remove the stolen money during the show. "Okay, Mom." I said. "If anything happens..." she began. "Don't expect an answer until the third call. I know Mom." I said, finishing her sentence. "Oh, goodness honey...... I hope you understand that I don't always want to be gone." Mom said, randomly. "Oh yeah, totally." I said, my eyes glued to my laptop screen. "I can't believe you're doing this......Doing something illegal, but it's the right thing to do." Mom said, leaning on my doorframe. "Uh hu." I said, listening, but not listening. "Just know that I love you even if you go to jail before you graduate." She said. "Yep." I said, still not really listening. "Ok, I should go now. I'll leave some money on the kitchen counter if you want to take your group out for lunch." Mom said. "Ok, thanks." I said, popping my head up at the mention of money and lunch; sorry, I'm still a teenager. "I love you, Morgan." "Love you, too, Mom." I said. "Don't get into too much trouble." "And don't use me as an excuse if you're late for your lunch meeting." I said. "Ok, honey. Bye." Mom said, leaving my room.

"Dang, she held on for a while." I heard Jack enter my room. "Yep, that's my Mom." I said. "Well, she loves you. She has a whole lot of reasons to." He said, sitting down on my bed next to me. "And who said you could sit down?" I asked, laughing a little. "I don't need your permission." Jack said, joking around. "Hey, do you know what's wrong with Daniel? He's been acting strange lately." I said, working more on the bank account. "Well, we're working a whole lot faster than we've had before. We've had years to work on our shows in our past schemes, but now we have less than a month. Danny is usually the front man when it comes to our shows. He has a lot of responsibilities." Jack explained. "I guess that's it then." I said. "But, I think there might be a certain distraction that he can't get rid of." He said with a smile. "What is it?" I asked. "I don't think it's a what, but a who." He said. "Come on, Jack. You're not supposed to be the mysterious one. That's Daniel's job." I said, making him laugh. "What I can't understand is why you call him Daniel." Jack said. "That's his name, isn't it?" I asked. "We all call him Danny. Why don't you just call him that?" he asked me. "I don't know. I guess I just don't see him as a Danny." I said, having to think about my answer. "You're weird." Jack said. "Thank you very much." I said, pointing at a piece of artwork on my lite wall. 'Being weird is good. That means you are different.' it said. "There you two are. We are all hungry and there is $60 on the counter. If a certain girly someone doesn't claim it in the next 2 minutes, I'll make it disappear." We both heard Merritt said at the door frame of my room. "If you touch my cash, you're dead, old man." I said in a rough voice. "Ooh, do I heard a bad girl side of our innocent Morgan?" Merritt asked, laughing. "Shut up, Merritt." I said, closing my computer and getting up from my bed.

I got down stairs to find Josie, sitting on a kitchen stool, watching the $60 on the counter. "It's not going anywhere if you watch it like that." I said, grabbing the cash off the counter. "I was guarding it, in case Merritt tried to magically steal it again." Josie said. "So, where are we going to go eat?" Henley asked, walking down the stairs. "I don't know. Any preferences?" I asked, slipping on my white converse that I took off at the front door. "Not Mexican, please anything but Mexican." I heard Daniel say from the kitchen. "Thanks for taking out a third of all our restaurants." I said, trying to make a joke. "How about that place down the street from your school. Country Fried, I think?" Jack mentioned. I then got a text from Uncle Dylan. 'Meet me at the café. Pick up time.' "How does the café I work at sound?" I asked. "I thought you were going to avoid your boss as much a possible since you don't have a set vacation." Josie said. "Uncle Dylan wants to meet up. We have a supplies pick up. Today is Wednesday; Shawna is gone by 1 anyway. Only one there usually is Claire. She'll be fine as long as she did have to take my shift." I said. "She didn't, Blair did." Josie said. "Dylan said a supplies pick up? Then why does he want to meet us?" Daniel asked. "I don't know. He just said, and I quote, 'Meet me at the café. Pick up time.' I don't know any code of 'It's time to pick supplies' than that." I said. "Well, let's follow Morgan's text and go get stuff, whatever it is." Henley said. "And we can get food, too, right?" Jack asked, making me softly laugh. "Yes, Jack. We can get food, too." Henley said, laughing as well. "Nice, I call shot gun." Jack said, hanging an arm around my shoulders, making me smile at the friendly gesture. A weird look came to Daniel's face, as if he was mad at someone. "Let's go." He sternly said.

"Ok. My car or yours, Josie?" I asked. "Um, Morgan. A word." Daniel said, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the living room. "Listen, I know how close yours and Josie's relationship is but, she can't come." Daniel said, lowering his voice. "Why not?" I asked, getting a little angry. Josie is my best friend since we were in diapers. She wants this money back as much as I do. "Because, we're sort of a magic group that doesn't show our resources. She'd tell everyone our tricks." Daniel said, making me even angrier. "What?! You know Josie would never do that. She sees almost all of my stuff for my magic." I said, angry that he would question my best friend. "I don't care. I'm in charge and your friend doesn't go." He said, raising his voice a little. "Listen here, Atlas. I don't what got your panties in a whorl this morning but, I don't appreciate you questioning my best friend when I need her most." I said, raising my voice as well. "Hey, we're doing this for you, who decided to go messing with the enemy." He said, almost yelling. "It's not my fault Teresa liked me. I didn't voluntarily go up to her." I said, getting on his voice level. "If you're going to act like this, you're staying home." Daniel said. "Excuse me?! I am 18 years old, thank you. You can't tell me what to do!" I said, my anger almost at its max. "I am the leader of the group and you will follow what I tell you!" "No, I won't! You can't lead a group like this!" "You don't tell me how I run my group!" Daniel's anger peaking. "It's not your little brother's life on the line!" I screamed, making the argument go quiet. I was breathing hard, I was mad. "I..." Daniel went to say. "If you dare order me to stay home, think about who's life is on the line... My little brother... I didn't ask for his funds to get stolen. I didn't ask for the chance of his death in the next couple of weeks. What our job as a magic group is to get it back and put The Five of Hearts and Teresa to justice, not you questioning me and my best friend." I said. We stared at each other for a little. "And, just letting you know, you can't out yell me. It's impossible." I said, walking away and back to the living room.

The whole group of people in the living room stared at me as I walked in. They heard the argument. "Are we ready to go?" Merritt asked, breaking the ice. "I'm driving." I said as Daniel walked in behind me, his jaw clenched. I then felt my phone buzz. 'You wanna talk about it? – Josie :)' the text said. 'Tell you later... -Me' I sent back to her. When she got the text, Josie nodded her head, understanding. "Let's go." She said, grabbing my hand and pulling me out the door to my Jeep.
