Daniel's POV

"And we are here." Josie said as we pulled into the driveway of a quite large house. It had a large front yard with a basketball hoop in the driveway. A black car and a cobalt blue Jeep sat in the drive way as well. "The Jeep is mine." Morgan said, following my view of her vehicle. As we were getting luggage out, a woman came out of the house; it was Morgan's mom from what I've gathered from pictures Morgan had shown me. "Hey, honey. So glad you're back." Morgan's mom said, giving her a hug. "I'm glad I am, too. How did the business meeting go?" Morgan asked her. "Oh, let's not talk about my trip. I want to know about yours." She said, kissing her on her forehead. "But after we get into the house. Please, everyone follow me." Ms. Steel said. All six of us followed Morgan's mom into the house.

A set of stairs said close to the front door, a large living room to the left, and a wall to the right. Many pictures hung on the wall, many of them were of Morgan as a child or of her teen years. As everyone else followed Morgan's mom into the living room, I went over to the wall to look at pictures. There in the center of the wall was a family picture of what looked like a younger Morgan with her 2 brothers, one had the appearance of a child with downs syndrome, and both of her parents. "That picture was taken about 3 months before Dad's diagnosis." Morgan said, from behind me. "He must have been a great man." I said, complimenting her father, seeing many pictures of her with him. "He was. I would have never asked for a better Dad." She said. I looked over a school picture of a child with the appearance of downs. "Is that Jackson?" I asked. "Yep. He should be around here somewhere." Morgan said, smiling. "Jayden, Jackson, Morgan's here. Please come down stairs." I heard her mom say. "SISSY!!!" I heard a shout. All of a sudden, a little boy came running down the stairs to Morgan. "Hey, Jackson." Morgan said, opening her arms for a hug. The boy jumped and gave her a huge hug. "I miss you, sissy." He said. "I missed you too, Jackson. Did you have fun with Ms. Kendal?" Morgan asked him. "Oh, yah. We saw fishys." The boy said, pulling back from her. He didn't say some of his words correctly. "Oh, you went to Clarksville to see the fish? I am so jealous." Morgan said, a bright smile came to her face. The boy then looked at me, tilling his head to the side. He leaned closer to Morgan. "Who that?" he asked, whispering really loudly. "Oh, this is Daniel. He is one of my friends from New York. Do you want to meet him?" Morgan told him. He started to nod his head fast with an excited yes. "Daniel this is Jackson. Jackson, this is Daniel Atlas." Morgan said, leading Jackson over to me. "Hi! My name Jackson." He said, sticking his hand out for a hand shake. "It's nice to meet you Jackson. My name is Daniel." I said, taking his small hand, shaking it gently. "It nice to meet you, too." He said, stumbling over his words a little. "There you are Jacks. Do you want to help Mommy with dinner for Morgan's friends?" Morgan's mom asked as she stood watching us. "Yeah, Mommy." He said, running to her. "Dinner will be on the table soon." Ms. Steel said, taking Jackson with her to the kitchen. "He's too cute." I said, going over what I just witnessed. "Yeah, he is, isn't he?" Morgan said. "I can understand how important getting that money back is to you." I said. "Yeah, that little kid, he's practically my everything. I don't know what I would do without my little brother." She said.

"Did you get me Jordans?" an older male voice said. "A 'Hi, Morgan. You're home. It's nice to see you' would do great right now, Jayden." Morgan said up the stairs. "So you didn't get me anything." The voice said. "No, I didn't. I've been busy." She said. A tall teenage boy started to walk down stairs. "No one is too busy to buy me stuff." He said. "But when the football team went to Disney World this year, you didn't bother to bring me back anything. I went to New York on business." Morgan said, getting annoyed at what I assumed was her other brother, Jayden. "We didn't go to buy you stuff. We went to play." He said. "Yeah, and I didn't go to New York to buy you new shoes, now did I?" Morgan shot back at him. "Um, yeah, you did." He said. "Well, don't be expecting anything good for Christmas this year." Morgan said. "Why did you go to New York anyway? For some stupid magic convention thing?" he asked, getting smart with her. "No. I went because Uncle Dylan wanted me to join the Four Horsemen. We're going against the people that stole Jackson's money. We've been working on a show for the past week and a half. I haven't had time to go shopping or get you anything." Morgan said, getting angry at him. The two stared at each other, neither of them coming up with anything else to say. "Jayden, come help with dinner, please." Ms. Steel's voice was heard. "Glad you're back." Jayden said, nonchalantly, as if their argument hadn't just happened. "Glad to be back." Morgan said, sneaking in a hug to her younger brother before he left to the kitchen. "Ok, what just happened?" I asked. "Don't ask. That's what siblings do." Morgan said, grabbing her bags and heading upstairs. I wonder how it feels to have a sibling. Do all of them argue like what Jayden and Morgan did? Or are they just different?

I decided to follow Morgan up the stairs; a door with the words 'Warning: Creative Ideas Under Construction' was slightly opened, Morgan went through that one. I opened the door the rest of the way to reveal a creatively decorated room.

Many different pictures of Morgan and her friends, along with many of her father, littered the walls. I spotted different musical instruments including guitars, a piano, a drum set, and what looked like to be some weird wound brass instrument. Marching band flags, school books, and many other meaningful items were in her room. "Do you like it?" I heard Morgan's voice beside me ask; she must have been putting her stuff away. "Yeah. It's nice." I said. "I decorated it about 2 weeks before you guys came and gave me my card." She said. I looked some more at the pictures; some were senior pictures that Morgan had shown me. Others were childhood pictures. Many had an element of magic, whether it be of her doing a trick or what looked like her Dad teaching one. She was singing in others. Wow, she is just one of a kind. "Why, thank you." Morgan said. Wait, did I say that out loud? "Yeah you did." Morgan said, giggling gently. "Morgan, dinner is ready." I heard Ms. Steel say. "To the kitchen." Morgan said, grabbing my hand and leading me out of the room.

"That chicken was absolutely amazing, Amanda." Henley said after we ate dinner. "We appreciate you allowing us to the stay here for the weekend." I said. "And, having your daughter on the team." Merritt said. "Oh, that is no problem. If at any time you need a place to stay, feel free to come over. I sort of knew Dylan would want Morgan in a place to put her talents to good use." Ms. Amanda, she insisted that we not call her Ms. Steel, said, helping Jackson with his last bite of peas. "So, how are we doing room assignments?" Josie asked. "Well, I've been thinking, Jayden can just bike ride over to Austin's house so we could use his room." Morgan said. "Nope. Austin's sick with mono. If I get sick, I won't be able to play in the basketball game Monday. That's against Carson High and if we beat them, we get into the semi-finals for state. No offence, but we need me to win Monday." Jayden said. How many sports does he play? "Ok, well then, um, how about Chris?" Morgan suggested. "His parents are out of town and he's at his girlfriend's house. I'd rather not be a third wheel." Jayden shot back. "Um, what about David?" Morgan asked. "He's in Mississippi. Morgan, where have you been for the past 2 weeks?" Jayden asked. "New York." Morgan said, making Jack laugh. "Well, how about we do this. We have 3 guest rooms, two with 2 beds and one with 1 bed. We can put Merritt and Jack in one, Henley in one and Daniel in another." Ms. Amanda said. "What about me?" Josie asked. "You can sleep in Morgan's room." Ms. Amanda said. "Uh uh. Nope. I'm sorry, but I seriously can't deal with her snoring. I love you, honey, but you really need to get that checked out." Morgan said, making me laugh. "And, if we share a bed, I have to be on the very outside or I'll get kicked like last time." Josie said. "That was not me. That was Wishbone." Morgan said about Josie's dog, Wishbone. "Wishbone was a puppy. He could not have kicked me that hard." Josie fired back. "How about we do this, Josie and Henley take a room while Daniel has a room to himself. Does that sound good?" Ms. Amanda asked the girls. "That's fine with me." Henley said.

"Ok. If I can get one of you kids, Morgan more preferably, to get the dishes and wash them; I think all of us need to get our sleep. Remember, I'm taking Jackson to Memphis for a check-up in the morning, so I won't be here when most of you wake up. Morgan, if you could go shopping for some food that would be amazing." Ms. Amanda said. "Will do, Mom." Morgan said, getting up and picking up Josie's and Henley's plates. As everyone dispersed to get ready for bed, I grabbed mine, Jack's, and Merritt's plates and headed into the kitchen. Morgan stood over the sink, cleaning the plates from dinner. I slipped the plates I had into the sink, making Morgan jump a little. "Gosh, you scared me, Daniel." She said. "Sorry. Just trying to help." I said, taking the towel sitting next to the sink. I started to dry the first plate. "You don't have to help. I've got it." Morgan said. "Are you sure? You seemed really sleepy on the plane; the faster we get this done, the more sleep you can get." I said, continuing to dry the dishes. "Whatever." She said, smiling. We washed and cleaned in silence, a comfortable silence. I caught myself watching her as she washed in the sink. There was something about Morgan that has made her stand out from all the girls that I've met. Her beauty, her enthusiasm, her family loyalty. Everything about her is amazing. "Daniel, Danny, Atlas." Morgan said, bringing my attention away from her. "What?" I asked. "What are you looking at?" she asked with a smile. "Nothing...." I said. "Whatever, Atlas." Morgan said, taking the clean dishes from my hands to put them away. I stood there for a while, gathering my thoughts. I then felt a hand grab my arm. "Danny, are you ok?" Henley said, her hand gripping my arm. "Yeah, I'm good." I said. "Ok...." Henley said, not believing me. I found my room with my bags on the single bed. I didn't bother changing clothes or brushing my teeth; I crashed on the bed, falling asleep just as my head hit the pillow. All I could think about was Morgan......
