《Thirst of the Heart (COMPLETE)》19

With the plans made, I made my way to the basement, stopping at the spot I caught Yasmin snooping around.
A smile pulled at my lips as reached my hand up the wall, pulling the hidden lever allowing me to continue down to the holding cells.
Low snores could be heard from the three prisoners caged below.
I had to feed before mother got here and I wanted to be back with my Alma Gemela. The door to the chamber slid shut behind me cutting off any noise getting out or in.
Stopping at the first cell, a young female lay asleep. Even though they are prisoners here, they were kept in comfort. I needed a fresh blood supply and this was better living conditions than what they had before I pulled them off the streets. The night I came across Yasmin I had been out in search of a new feeder to ease the amount of time I drew from these three.
But because of this new threat, they could no longer stay here.
Typing the code on the keypad, I unlocked the cell door. Walking in I sat beside the girl named Tasha.
Her eyes slowly blinked open and she quickly sat up. "Master Caine, sorry I didn't mean to keep you waiting."
"Shhh, it's okay Tasha. Come I am hungry."
I waited until she crawled over to my side, holding her wrist out for me to take.
Without hesitation, my fangs sunk into her flesh. Her warm blood filled my mouth. As she grew weaker, I became stronger. I watched as her eyes rolled to the back of her head and her body laid down against the pillow. Pulling back, I could hear her decreased heart rate and without waiting for a second longer I reached over, snapping her neck.
Unaffected I moved to the next cell where a young man named Paul was listening to music through his headphones. When he noticed me entering his cell, he removed the headphones.
"Master Caine? I didn't realize it was my turn already. I have yet to bathe today, please wait a few moments while I wash my skin." He stood as he spoke making his way to the small sink in the cell.
The water sprayed into the bowl as he finished talking. Not wasting time, I wrapped a hand around his torso pulling him into me while my other hand pulled his head to the side. My fangs suck into his neck with ease. I was able to bite deeper than with Tasha, draining him faster. Quicker than normal, I drained his body, leaving it to slump to the floor.
His body hadn't yet recovered from the feed yesterday.
The third cell held Marcus. A six-foot solid male with dark curly hair who was currently backed into a corner of the room, his eyes focused on me and a butter knife held tightly in his hand.

"Marcus, what are you doing?" I didn't have time for this crap. I needed to be upstairs preparing Yasmin for our departure.
"I'm not stupid Caine!" his voice echoed in the otherwise quiet area. "I don't plan on leaving this room in a body bag. I heard the snap of Tasha's neck and the thump of you dumping Paul's body. I won't be next."
I have always liked Marcus. Weirdly we were sort of friends. He has been here the longest and was by far the oldest of my feeders edging late 20's but right now he was pissing me off. Keeping my face stoic, I stepped into the cell.
"You don't stand a chance against me, though do you, Marcus? I could snap your neck in a second and you would never know." A low growl came out with my words.
"And yet you haven't. You for some reason need a lot of blood, which means you have to drain me first. All I am asking is that once you drain me, you feed me." His hand held the knife steady, his eyes trained on me and his voice not wavering once. "Turn me, Caine. When I wake tomorrow, I can be of help."
I have never really considered turning them. Marcus would definitely be an asset to have. He was also right. He would be of help and new-made vampires don't go blood crazy as people think. Plus, he would be loyal to me until he is released.
"Okay fine I will turn you. When you wake, I will not be here. You must come to find me at once, just follow the pull you feel inside and it will bring you to me. You have been with me for many years now Marcus, do as I say or when I find you, you will be begging for death."
I watched as he nodded his head. I don't think he expected me to agree so easily. But right now, I would need a loyal vampling to help keep the wolves at bay.
Walking over to the bed, I sat on the edge nodding at Marcus to join me. Once he sat, I shifted so I was behind him, my legs either side of his hips.
"Once I start to drain you, your body will react to me. Do not worry, I will not do anything to you other than change you. Once you have fed, sleep will take over. At some point in the transition, your heart will stop and to anyone who looks upon you, it will seem as if you are dead. When you wake, feed first then find me as fast as you can. Daylight hurts but won't kill, so be careful. Do you understand?"
A soft 'yes' whispered out of his mouth. With one hand wrapped around his torso and the other holding under his chin, pulling it up and to the side, I latched on to his neck. Drawing large mouthfuls of blood in and infusing him with toxin, I could feel his body starting to react. Marcus rubbed his hips back against the front of my pants. I prefer females but have had the pleasure of males before. Either way my cock reacted to his taunts, growing harder inside my pants.

I continued to drink; the feeling of a full stomach slowed down my pace but I continued until I was ready to turn him. Marcus's soft moans and eager rubbing against me slowed until they stopped. Withdrawing from his neck, I ripped at my wrist holding it up to Marcus's lips. The blood ran down my arms and still, he had yet to open his mouth to take my blood. "Shit." I cursed. He was unconscious.
Sucking my own blood until my mouth was full, I laid him flat on the bed. Tilting his head back and opening his mouth, my lips sealed over his pushing the blood in and down his throat. His body automatically swallowed. I repeated this a few more times until he had enough of my blood.
Without looking back, I walked from the room.
Marcus wasn't the first vampling I had created, and I doubt he will be the last, but right now my focus has to be on Yasmin.
I had been gone for longer than I had wanted. Mary can handle Yasmin's needs, but I have to fill her in on what is happening and get ready to move once my mother arrives.
The wall opened and a strong wave of blood filled the air.
No.
Not yet.
The kitchen had been trashed. Deep claw gouges ran along every surface. This can't happen. I wasn't ready.
Using my speed, I followed the smell. Leading me to the bedroom I left Mary and Yasmin in. The door was almost closed completely. Slowly I opened the door in case any wolves were still inside.
First thing I noticed was the empty bed. Then I took in the rest of the room. I could tell that the real fight had happened in here. It may have started downstairs, but this room is where everything had gone wrong.
Broken furniture scattered the room. The bathroom door had been ripped from its hinges. The windows had been shattered outward like something was thrown through it.
In all the years I have been walking the earth and the amount of blood and dead bodies I had stacked at my own feet; nothing could have prepared me.
I have only ever loved four people in all my years.
One had betrayed me.
Two lay in a room decorated in blood and debris.
Mary my sweet child. Even though she was old in human years, she was still my baby. I still remember the tiny squawks which drew me to her discarded newborn body. The dumpster someone had left the hours-old baby in had been in the ally my next meal had walked down. I was stalking my prey when Mary's fluttering heartbeat and mewing noises made me stop. She was mine the moment I had picked her up and her tiny hand had gripped so tight around my finger.
Kneeling beside her lifeless body, I cradled her head in my arms. "Mary my child. I'm sorry you had to go this way. Thank you for coming into my life and bringing me such joy. Rest easy now princess."
Kissing her head I laid her gently on the ground turning to the first woman I had ever loved.
"Mother."
I walked over to her body. She had cuts and marks all over her. A large stake stood erect from her chest. Her body like stone. "I should leave you like this, but I require your help."
Bending forward and bracing her body by putting a hand on her shoulder to hold her down, my free hand wrapped securely around the chunk of wood. Using my strength, I slowly removed the stake from her heart. Stepping back, I watched as her body returned to its normal colour.
"Where were you?" Her tone was clipped, as she stood dusting off her clothes as best she could.
"I was feeding. What happened?" Even if I had a fair idea of what went down, I wanted to hear it from her lips.
"Just as I had arrived, the wolves struck. I tried to hold them back but a few got past me. I abandoned the fight downstairs to cut them off at the room." Her eyes softened as she glanced down at Mary's body. "Mary must have heard what was happening and dragged your female to the bathroom, locking them inside. When I got up here the wolves had torn the place apart in search. I managed to kill one and had thrown another out the window but I failed to see the older man behind me until I turned. As I went down from the stake, the last thing I saw was the bathroom door being ripped open and your female turning into a wolf to protect Mary."
She walked over to me wrapping her arms aroundmy body. "Son, I am truly sorry about Mary. I loved my grandchild just as muchas I love you," She pulled back a small smile on her lips, "maybe a littlemore."
