《The Witch and the Werewolf | Remus Lupin x Reader》Chapter 20 | The Idea

It had been three weeks since Remus and I had gotten together, and there was one thought that plagued my mind.
Him being a werewolf.
I literally could not care less if he was a werewolf, or a vampire, or a spider (actually, I might have minded a bit at that), but I hated that the others were able to help him while I wasn't.
I wanted to help him when he needed it most. I wanted to become an Animagus.
"Absolutely not," Remus said when I brought the idea up with the Marauders.
I narrowed my eyes at him.
"And why not?" I argued. "They do it. Why can't I?"
"Because they did it without my knowing, and it was a very stupid idea," Remus growled.
James coughed and we both turned our attention to him.
"Sorry to break up this lovers' quarrel," he said. "But you don't hurt us, so why would you hurt Y/n?"
"I just want you to be safe," Remus said.
"I will be safe," I countered. "I'll be an animal. Things will be fine. I just want to help you, Remus."
Remus sighed deeply and didn't say anything for a moment.
"Fine," he muttered.
I smiled at him, and the corner of his mouth twitched upwards.
"So, how do I become an Animagus?" I asked.
"Well... we took the book from the restricted section," James said. "So we'll just have to wait until night-time."
So that's what we did. As soon as the clock struck midnight, James and I ventured out of the tower under the invisibility cloak. He held the Marauders' Map while I held my lit wand out.
"Ow! That was my foot!" I whisper-yelled.
"Sorry," James muttered.

We eventually made it to the library. We entered the restricted section and took off the cloak. James muttered Lumos and his wand tip lit up.
"Alright, stay close so that if a teacher comes, we can hide under the cloak," James whispered. "I'll continue checking the map every now and then."
I looked at the covers of the many books. My fingers grazed over the spines. I saw Moste Potente Potions, Magick Moste Evile... but nothing to do with Transfiguration or Animagus.
"Hey, Y/n, I think I found it!" James whispered.
I walked over to him and looked at the book he was holding out. It was titled, Transformation for the Wild, and had a worn cover.
"This is the book we used," James told me. "C'mon, get back under the cloak."
I did as he asked and held the book close to my chest while James looked at the map. He led us out of the library, and I checked to make sure our feet weren't visible.
We made it all the way back to the common room without any trouble.
"You got the book?" Sirius asked when we walked through the portrait hole (the Fat Lady was very upset to be awoken at forty minutes past midnight).
"Yep," I said, squishing myself next to Remus on an armchair.
He automatically wrapped his arm around my shoulders and kissed my cheek.
James opened the book and began to read the steps aloud.
"Step one: carry a single Mandrake leaf in your mouth for an entire month – from full moon to full moon to be precise. If you swallow the leaf or remove it from your mouth at any point, you have to start the entire process again. You then have to find a small crystal phial that receives the pure rays of the moon, put your saliva-filled leaf inside, and add one of your own hairs.

"Step two: add a silver teaspoon of dew from a place that neither sunlight nor human feet have touched for a full seven days. You then have to add the chrysalis of a Death's-head Hawk Moth to the crystal phial as well. Then put this mixture in a quiet, dark place and leave it alone until the next electrical storm. And really leave it alone – don't even look at it. Don't even think about looking at it.
"Step three: while waiting for the storm, you must place your wand tip over your heart every sunrise and sundown and speak the following incantation: 'Amato Animo Animato Animagus'. If you keep repeating your incantation, there will come a time when, with the touch of the wand-tip to the chest, a second heartbeat may be sensed. Don't change anything. Keep going. Keep waiting for that storm.
"Step four: As soon as lightning appears in the sky, go to the place where you've hidden your crystal phial. If you've done everything right, then you will discover a mouthful of blood-red potion inside it. Then move somewhere where you aren't going to alarm anyone or place yourself in physical danger during your transformation.
"Step five: Place your wand-tip against your heart and speak the incantation 'Amato Animo Animato Animagus' and drink the potion. You will then feel fiery pain and an intense double heartbeat.
"Step six: the shape of the creature into which you will shortly transform will appear in your mind. You must show no fear. It is too late now, to escape the change you have willed.
"Step seven: When your transformation is complete, you are strongly advised to pick up your wand and hide it somewhere safe, so you can find it post-transformation. To return to human form, visualise your human self as clearly as you can. Do not worry if you don't change back immediately, with practice, you will be able to slip in and out of your animal form at will, simply by visualising the creature. Once you're an advanced Animagus, you should be able to transform without your wand.
"And those are all the steps," James said, handing to book over to me to read.
I skimmed over the pages and looked at the warnings. There were a few, but I was still determined to do this.
"When did you guys have a Mandrake leaf in your mouth?" I asked. "For a whole month?"
"Remember when we made the bet about who could stay quiet for the longest?" Sirius asked.
"Of course I remember," I said. "Best month of my life."
Sirius threw a pillow at me.
"We had the leaves in our mouths then," he said. "We could probably do the same thing for you."
I nodded and looked over the pages again.
"This is illegal, you know," James said. "We're all unregistered."
"I know," I said. "But I want to help. I can do it."
I looked to Remus and smiled softly at him. His arms tightened around my waist, and I rubbed a comforting hand up and down his arm.
I was going to do this. If only for him.

Until death? (Old Version)
This is the dated Version. Please search for the rewrite. Ever been a god? Well I was! Until I died.... and got judged by the other gods! Apparently they didn't like the whole idea that my Faith is the only true one! Oh and for the record: The Apocalypse wasn't intentional, ok? Though, I admit that ultimatively, I caused it. Seems like I got sent onto a vacation as punishment! Or so I hope? ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur)

Nevertheless, A Fantasy World
Aldieas, a world where five races exist in harmony namely, the Humans, Vasters, Serensis, Oreals, and the Alpsis. Before, this world was bathed in a gruesome bloodbath because of countless war between the races that created their own kingdoms. The lack of progress of the Era earned the disapproval of the God who created the world resulting in sending thirteen Demon Lords to dominate the world and erase any existing races. As the five races fell into despair, they summoned a hero as last resort to fight off the Demon Lords. The hero that was summoned, a lone man, has brought hope and salvation to everyone. Eventually, the hero defeated the Demon Lords but because of what he witnessed about this world, he himself becomes dismayed and chose isolation. Thousand of years has passed and the world has reached a new Era. Right then, the Hero decided to check on things. Author's Note: Do think that this is extremely similar to my other story settings. It's slightly r-15 but I guarantee that any explicit will be tone down. Further emphasis on the story genre will be updated soon.

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.

Intercessor
"In my defense, I hadn't actually been trying to get hit by a truck." Artemis wakes up alone in a giant futuristic facility with no hint of where she is, how she got here, or what this means. Yet within two weeks, she is shot at with all the guns, a voice is beginning to speak in her head, and she is tormented by a seemingly sentient and possibly trollish space Roomba. Her only hope is Scarlet, another girl who is a complete stranger and almost shot her in the head. Oh, and she has fox ears and a tail. That is possibly worth mentioning. Artemis is not a nerd. She has never heard of the isekai genre, she can't fight worth a damn, and the blue-collar skills she learned at her community college are absolutely useless in a universe where technology is often indistinguishable from magic. She only has one thing going for her: A mysterious ability to interface with highly advanced technology left behind by the Antecessors, the long lost precursor civilization with technology that no one has been able to adequately replicate. Finding herself in a universe where civilizations are locked in an interstellar Cold War, where societies are so stratified that the aristocracy commands fleets of starships while slaves wash clothes with their hands, Artemis decides to run away from it all. She has a ship. She'll find a crew. She'll find a way to make a living at the fringes of civilization, learn how to cope with danger, and survive the affections of a universe where everyone is a cute girl with animal ears and tails. Welcome to Intercessor. AKA Kemonomimi Yuri Space Fantasy. Commissioned by Shaderic. Please leave your sense of shame at the door.

Hardcore OP-ness
Most people pray for good health, a loving family, and to win the lottery. I asked “Can you send me to a game-like fantasy-style world? It can't be too unrealistic, but also, it would be nice if I was immortal to some degree. Oh yea, no rape or slavery either, cause then I'll have to spend the whole time trying to create a perfect society, and I'd rather not have to deal with all that nonsense. No other players either, cause that always creates a ton of annoying drama, and I just want to have a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable time.â€Three years later, after I had completely forgotten about all that… well, better late than never I suppose. The moral of this story, is to be careful what you wish for; also, cuteness is justice, so don't complain if adorable bunnies beat you to death and devour your corpse.(Warning: This story includes profanity, numbers, humanity, nudity, uncomfortable realism in a fantasy-world, awkward but mild sexual-content, descriptive violence and gore, nekomimi, necrophilia, bizarre and disturbing sexual-content, offensive language, plus all of the other things that disclaimers usually have to tell you about. Do not read this if you dislike transportation, virtual reality, fantasy, or other similar genres… or me, because I'm the author.)I'm only posting a few chapters on this site, but there are over 100 on my wordpress. https://mike777ac.wordpress.com/hardcore-op-ness/
