nightmares
A strangled gasp came out of my mouth. How did she.....how? "what's wrong?" Byakuya asked me. I looked up a little fearfully and just handed my phone to him. Byakuya took it hesitantly and he scanned it quickly. His eyes widened, "does she know?" He asked me. I shook my head quickly. "I-I never told anyone about my nightmares but you" I said. Byakuya pulled out his phone and started typing something
My hand shook a little. "How does she know?" Byakuya muttered. "god I hate her" I rubbed my eyes. Byakuya looked a little surprised but brushed it off. "I do to" He said. I turned off my phone. I didn't want to confront her.
Not yet at least.
"Makoto?" Byakuya asked me while reading. "..yes?" I said hesitantly. "Are you going to sleep tonight?" He lifted his eyes from his book and stared at me. I pursed my lips, "if I didn't you would probably force me to, right?" I half-laughed. "Yes. Yes I would" He nodded. "Guess I will" I scratched my cheek. "You don't really have a choice anyways" Byakuya pushed up his glasses. "and if I don't?" I crossed my arms. "If I threaten to break up with you, will you sleep?" Byakuya kinda had a teasing tone so I knew he wouldn't actually do that.
I think.
"Maybe" I laughed a little. I glanced at my phone and my smile faded. "hey...how do you think Enoshima knows about my nightmares?" I asked nervously. Byakuya narrowed his eyes at my phone, "I don't know...but its weird" the blonde said. "I don't want to ask her about it" I said. Byakuya glanced at me and sighed, "i'm sure you'll be fine." He said. I fiddled with my fingers, "okay.." I mumbled. "But hey. If you want I can just wipe her from existence" Byakuya snapped his fingers. "You can do that?" I asked my eyes widening. "Im Byakuya Togami. Of course I can" he scoffed.

Sometimes I forget how scary he is.
"That's a little terrifying" I laughed nervously. "I only done it once" Byakuya rolled his eyes as if that made it any better. I decided to just drop the subject. Since I was to scared to go on my phone, I instead put my head on Byakuya's shoulder and looked at his book. "what are you reading?" I asked. "a mystery novel" He said simply. "Is it good?" I questioned. "I guess it is" he took a moment to push up his glasses. "Can I read it with you?" I asked. "it has descriptions of death" He said staring at me. My throat went a little dry, "nevermind then" I said.
I kept my head on his shoulder but I avoided looking at the book. I didn't want to read it. I directed my gaze to the fireplace. A few minutes passed as I stared at the crackling fire. "Why are you that scared?" Byakuya asked snapping me back to reality. "What do you mean?" I stared at him. "You experienced death before. So why are you scared of reading about it" He closed his book and stared at me back.
"You kinda just answered your own question" I said. He blinked, looking a little confused, "I did?" he asked. I nodded, "just the thought of reading about death makes me sick" I glanced at his book. "I'm not that bothered by death" Byakuya said. I snorted, "oh I noticed" I said with my voice dripping with sarcasm. "what's that supposed to mean?" he scoffed. "I mean, you never seemed bothered by anyone dying, you crucified a body and you like reading books about death" I listed. "True" Byakuya nodded. "Its kinda unsettling when you think about it" I mumbled. "I guess so" The blonde said.

Suddenly the door opened and in came Jill/Syo/Jack or whatever you wanna call her. Byakuya pushed me off his shoulder once he saw her. "WHAT WERE YOU 2 DOING?!" Jill pulled out her scissors. I backed away from her and Byakuya simply sighed. "We were reading. But of course your that dumb that you didn't notice" He rolled his eyes. "NGH~ MASTER" Jill drooled a little. Byakuya looked insanely uncomfortable and I felt a little bad. "hey Jill, why don't you lea-" I was cut off by her shooting a piercing glare. "WERE YOU SEDUCING MY WHITE KNIGHT?!" Jill cackled. "I- uh what?" I turned pink. "YOUR SEDUCING MY BYAKUYA" Jill grinned. I glanced at Byakuya and he was also pink. "First of all, no i'm not..seducing him" I said. "Mhmmmm" Jill crossed her arms. "Second of all, he's not yours. He's not an object" I said. Jill looked as if I just insulted her dead grandma. Before she can screech insults at me, Mukuro came in.
"is she bothering you guys?" Mukuro asked in soft tone. "yes" me and Byakuya said in unison. Mukuro immediately judo-flipped Jill and pinned her hands behind her back. "HEYYY" Jill yelled. "Apologies for this" Mukuro hoisted her up and walked away with her. "I'M GONNA FIND YOU AGAIN MASTER" Jill yelled before Mukuro closed the door. I turned to Byakuya to find that he looked pale. "you okay?" I asked sitting down next to him again. "...." He didn't answer.
I put a hand on his shoulder, "it's fine if you don't want to" I said. He shook off my hand and stood up, "I just need to go to the bathroom" He said as he walked off. Something about this was giving me a bad feeling. But I choose to ignore it.
