《DEAD IN BED By Bailey Simms: The Complete First Book》PART 3, SECTION 20

I slipped out of my old bedroom, tiptoed down the stairs, and ran to the shop.
All the way there I thought about how at one point when I'd thought that Morgan was getting better, she'd only ended up getting worse. What if this time too she'd slipped back into that awful, feverish state of labored breathing? What if this time she really had died?
I ran up the rickety stairs that lead to the hayloft. I was moving so fast that one of the steps cracked. My foot broke through, and I stumbled.
But I caught myself on the next step, which held, and I peered into the loft.
Morgan was awake, sitting up, talking with Bryce. She was smiling.
I rushed to her and hugged her.
"I see you've been getting yourself into trouble while I wasn't around to watch out for you," Morgan said. She smiled at me then raised her eyebrows in Bryce's direction. "Don't even try to tell me you two behaved yourselves while I was out cold."
"Shut up!" I laughed.
I hugged Morgan again. Less than a day earlier, I'd thought that Morgan was dead. Now she was glowing. I tried not to start crying, but I did.
"I'll give you two a moment," Bryce said. He climbed the stairs and left us alone, sitting in the loose hay.
"How do you feel?" I asked. "Honestly, you look great."
Even the swelling around Morgan's eyebrow had almost completely gone away.
"I feel great," she whispered, confused. "I shouldn't feel great, I know. Not after everything that happened. But I do. I don't understand it."
"You remember what happened? Everything?"
Morgan nodded. "I think so," she whispered. "I remember everything up to Ian shooting Robert. Shooting Mr. Hershel, I mean. I remember that."

"What happened after I dropped you at your house? Did he break in?"
Morgan looked away. "Not exactly."
"What happened then?"
She took a deep breath. "Okay. So," she said. "You remember how I told you I was sleeping with someone else besides Jason?"
I nodded.
"It was him. I was sleeping with Robert Hershel. I had been for a couple weeks."
I couldn't believe it. It was true that Mr. Hershel had always been one of those classically handsome cowboy types, or at least he was before his death, but he was at least in his sixties. He had a wife and grown kids. I couldn't think of him as anything other than a sweet old man—before he cracked up and went totally insane, that is.
"You were having an affair with Mr. Hershel?"

Arnar the Dungeon
Arnar is a dungeon core. Everybody knows dungeons are evil, man-eating entities hell-bent on killing and absorbing whatever wanders inside their depths. The problem is no one ever told him that. Well, the truth is no one ever told him anything and he refused powers-that-be when they tried to make him into the proper dungeon. That should teach them not resurrect people into dungeon cores. Now it is too late. He has a perfect plan to become the best dungeon on the continent and nothing will stand in his way. Especially something called common sense. Disclaimer of sorts: I am non-native English writer that used to write mostly for himself. After my last computer decided to die on me taking all my works with it I lost the desire to write for quite a long time. This is my attempt to go find motivation to write again as this was my favourite hobby. The idea is to be held accountable. As for being non-native, I don't believe that should be a major issue as I feel my proficiency in English to be sufficient enough to not be too much of the distraction. That said, be forewarned that the rules governing punctuation are beyond my grasp. All I can do is try not to completely suck at that. As mentioned this is an attempt to motivate me to write again so any message, encouragement or constructive criticism will go long way. The cover was created with the help of http://fantasynamegenerators.com/emblem-creator.php I hope you will enjoy my story.
8 144The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman

For adventure, knowledge or chaos, who knows where events and their own nature will take them... Towards new or old forgotten paths? Two similar paths do not necessarily mean the same destination...An unoriginal story.Illustration : Yuri_BEven in my own language I sometimes make grammatical mistakes, for those who have the courage to read what I write in spite of that, sorry. You are warned.

Combat Origin is the first book in the World of Combat, young adult, dystopia series. If you like strong heroines, gamelit/litrpg and a good brawl, keep reading. Author note: I just discovered the Royal Road community and decided to jump in and participate. I posted Combat Origin, Book 1 during Nov and Dec of 2019 (before moving it to Amazon), followed by the short story prequel that gave backstory on two of the main characters. (non-Gamelit - because the gaming AI hasn't been found yet) Now, Book 5 has been finished and posted on Amazon, which allows me to leave a 10% sample here. The books are all free to read, If you have Kindle Unlimited. Please comment, ask questions, offer suggestions or just say hi. I'm hoping to connect with readers and improve my storytelling. -- Misty :) https://www.amazon.com/author/mistyzaugg https://mistyzaugg.com/

8 178Grimm
Grimm is alone a lot, his parents aren't the responsible type. His life changes when someone else's ends. This author is bad at writing synopsis.Just a story I've been working on. Its also my first one so if you see any errors do feel free to point them out.
