Flabbergasted by the actions of Xuan Di, Jae-in remains on the floor with Yu-ji in her arms, only managed to react when the body of his slowly lower downwards and fell straight onto her. Crushed under his heavy bodyweight, she struggles to shoulder them and used her freed arm to support him.
With the support of Jae-in, Yu-ji was free from injury as Jae-in used her arm to cushion her fall that avoid her body from hitting directly onto the door curb. Creating a gap for Yu-ji to crawl out, Jae-in use both her slender arms to push against Xuan Di's shoulder.
But Xuan Di is too heavy for her to handle, within minutes, her arms gave out and his whole body slam hard onto hers, with his face landing directly onto her chest. Given the impact, Jae-in's upper back hit against the door curb which made her squeal in pain along with her bruised forearm.
"Missy Jae!! Oh no, what should I do!"
Yu-ji tried to pull Xuan Di up by his arm but it is an obvious failure. Qing Feng, who was attacked by an unknown beggar, immediately knock him unconscious and wiggle out of his grip, heading straight towards Yu-ji.
Looking at her from head to toe and did a few body spin to ensure no injuries, he then relaxs his tensed body.
"Yu'Er are you okay?"
"Yeah, I am fine. It's Missy that is not okay."
Yu-ji shrug off Qing Feng's grip and bend downwards to pull the Xuan Di's arm once again. Qing Feng looks down and finally see an unknown man lying on top of Jae-in. Moving quickly, he walks towards the other side to pull him away.
"G-get him off him! Urgh, he is so heavy!" Jae-in exclaimed.
There is always a difference between man and woman, one of them will be strength.
Unlike the constant struggles that both Jae-in and Yu-ji are facing, in one movement, Qing Feng pull Xuan Di up as easy as a sack of potatoes. Jae-in and Yu-ji look towards Qing Feng with a stun face.
"Lady Jae-in aren't you getting up? It's getting late, time to head back."
"Ooh right, yes we need to go back now."
"Oh wait."

Qing Feng stop the group and release Xuan Di from his support, letting him fall straight to the ground. Jae-in and Yu-ji stare at Qing Feng, he then walks towards the beggar who charged up to him earlier on and drag him by his neck.
Walking back to the spot where he let go of Xuan Di, he then easily picks him up. Yu-ji supported Jae-in and the group of 4 head back to the inn.
With the giant strength of Qing Feng, he shoulders the weight of Xuan Di while dragging the beggar on the floor, and the moment they step inside, they gather all eyes on them. Qi Yuan, who was patiently seated on the dining chairs at the lobby area, saw Qing Feng carrying an unknown man while Jae-in leaning towards Yu-ji for support.
Confused with what was going on, Qi Yuan rush up to them.
"What happen? Who is this man? Jae-in are you injured?"
"I am fine, just a minor bruise. It's this guy who needs medical attention."
Jae-in pointed towards Xuan Di and all of them head up to Qi Yuan's room. Positioning Xuan Di on the bed, Qi Yuan proceed to undress him and attend to his injuries while Jae-in and Yu-ji look away to give some privacy.
Pulling out the 3 arrows that was deeply penetrated through his back, a lowly grunt released from Xuan Di pale lips and cold sweat beads forming on his forehead in his unconscious state.
While Qi Yuan carefully tend to Xuan Di's injuries, Qing Feng proceed to tie up the beggar and put him at a corner. 2 hours have passed and finally Xuan Di is out of danger, Qi Yuan packed his medical items back into the bag and stood up from the bed.
"How is he?"
"He is fine for now, not sure if he is lucky or what, all three arrows shot avoided his vital points just by a little. Right now, he is bleeding profusely and need to recharge himself by eating tonics to get back the blood loss. Other than that, as long as he continues to rest his body for 3 months, he will be fine."
"I see, that's good ..."
Qi Yuan observed that Jae-in has been leaning forward ever since she stepped into the inn, he went up to her and attempt to look at her injury.

"What happen? Where are you injured?"
"Nothing serious, just my forearm and upper back hit against the door curb during the sudden attack."
"What sudden attack?"
Jae-in then share the whole incident to Qi Yuan and slowly his expression darkened with a cold face.
"Master, I have caught one of their attacker who charged towards me during the attack."
"Good. We shall question him ourselves. Jae-in, let's return to your room and let me tend to your injury."
"But ..."
Though Jae-in is aware that in the eyes of a doctor, the gender of the patient does not matter, somewhat she felt uncomfortable to show her upper back to a male that is not her husband. Sensing her hesitation, Qi Yuan understood her concerns. Reaching into the medical bag, he hands over a round tub of medical paste to Yu-ji.
"Yu-ji, please use this bruise paste and apply them on the area of injury. Make sure to rub the paste on your palm to generate some heat, then massage on the bruise area. Try to repeat this for 3 days, your Missy injury will recover soon."
"Thank you, Qi Yuan Gong Zi."
"The upper back injury can be done with Yu-ji's help, now at least let me look at your forearm injury."
After Qi Yuan is done with the application of medication with bandages, the night ended with the group entering their own respective rooms.
Since Xuan Di is occupying the room that they had, Qing Feng head down to book another room for his master to rest. After a hectic day, all of them soon fell into deep sleep except Qi Yuan and Qing Feng.
The next day, Jae-in woke up to a refreshing morning though her upper back still hurts but it was less painful as compared to last night. Washing themselves up, Yu-ji accompanied Jae-in into Xuan Di's room.
When they enter the room, they realized that they are not the first one.
"Jae-in, you are awake!"
"Yes, you guys are early too."
"Last night was quite unexpected, so I did not realize the identity of this man. Why is Wang Xuan here?"
"This is one thing that I missed out last night. We met in one of the book stores when I was casually looking for books, and he came up to me, saying that he knew of our trip to Kai border, and he wants to join the group. But I rejected him, just when I decided to leave the store, that's when the sudden attack from unknown attackers happened."
"How did he know of our plans?"
"He said he had sources, and he had a mission to accomplish at the Xuan border."
Qi Yuan look down and had a complicated look.
"What do you think Qi Yuan? Him joining the group?"
"Jae-in, being honest, I can't treat him differently due to his title of a Xuan ambassador. However, I also do not agree that he should join us to Kai border. Yet, judging by his capabilities of having sources to track such confidential information so easily, even if we reject his proposal, he will find another way to secretly join us or follow us without our acknowledgement.
Instead of having him lurking in the dark without us knowing what he is up to, why not let him join us to Kai border. Not only we are able to watch over him, we can be aware of any actions he plans to take. It's better to keep an enemy in sight than letting them go freely."
Jae-in listens to Qi Yuan's advice and weight the consequences. Other than her unknown strong walls of alert towards Xuan Di, as of now, he did not do anything bad towards her or the group.
Instead, Xuan Di help to withstand the 3 arrows that was shot towards her. To a certain extent, he is her saviour, and she must return his favours.
'Sigh, at most I shall avoid talking to him and keep a distance from him throughout this journey.'
"Alright, we shall let him join us to Kai border. Let's wait for him to wake up before moving on to Luo City."
"Sure, let's do that. Just that, I am not sure what are the upcoming traps to face as this is just the first city." Qi Yuan sighed.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
