Brea slipped into a long black dress... she curled her hair, she allowed her golden locks to fall on top of her shoulders.
There was a gentle knock on her door. She turned and saw Bella, who was wearing a light blue dress.
"Brea, you look beautiful," Bella smiled.
"You think? I think this cast is a little too much," Brea laughed.
Bella held out her hand...which Brea took.
"Your eyes are going back to normal," Bella said.
Brea nodded.
Both girls walked carefully down the stairs.
Edward stood at the end of the stairs... looking at Brea.
"Alice lent us the dresses. And I have to say it goes very well with my cast," Brea laughed.
"You are perfect! I'll take good care of them, Chief," Edward smiled.
"Heard that before," Charlie mumbled.
Edward held out his hand for Brea to take... which she did without hesitation.
They all three make their way to the door.
Charlie grabbed both Brea and Bella.
"I put some more pepper spray in both of your bags," Charlie said.
"Oh My God! Dad! Again?" Brea laughed.
"And.... you both look beautiful," Charlie smiled.
Both girls hurried off towards Edward and climbed into his car, waving goodbye to their dad.
*****************
They all three arrived.
"I can't believe you are forcing me to do this," Brea frowned, looking over at Edward.
Edward laughed.
"You are really trying to kill me," Brea said.
"Prom is an important rite of passage! I don't want you to miss anything," Edward smiled.
Bella hurried past them and rushed off to her friends.
"I much rather be at home, watching an old movie.....wearing sweats or reading a good book," Brea sighed.
They posed for a picture.

They walk in... Brea isn't impressed.
She searched the room and saw Rosalie, who was smiling over at her. Brea waved... and Rosalie waved back.
"Shall we?" Edward asked.
"What? No! Really?" Brea questioned.
Edward doesn't wait for an answer... He picked up Brea and carried her to the dance floor.
He spun her around, then pulled her closer.
"See? You're dancing!" Edward laughed.
"At prom!" Brea smiled.
They both danced as if they were the only ones in the room... not caring who was looking.
Brea felt his grace, his strength... she smiled.
"Edward... Why did you save me?" Brea asked, throwing him off.
"Brea, you don't want this," Edward sighed.
"You're right! But if you'd let the venom spread, I could've ended up like you" Brea said.
"Brea..." Edward replied but was cut off.
"All I know is.... I want you," Brea said.
"I won't end your life for you," Edward growled.
Brea pulled away and walked outside... Edward followed her.
"I'm dying anyway...Every minute, I-I just don't want to get old.. While you are still young and beautiful," Brea sighed, feeling Edward behind her.
"That's how it's supposed to happen," Edward said.
"Not the way Alice saw it! I-I heard her...I'll end up being just like you, and I sense I'll be powerful," Brea replied.
"Her visions change, Brea," Edward sighed.
They both looked at one another.
"Only if I get to be with you! Then yes," Brea said.
Edward lowered his lips to her neck.... And kissed her neck.
"You're going to have a long and happy life with me! Isn't that enough?" Edward asked.
Brea pulled away and looked at him.. She smiled.
"For now! I'll wait as long as I have too," Brea said.
Edward pulled her close and they both started dancing.....Underneath the stars and bright moonlight.

My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe...
Xavier had a happy, humdrum life: normal friendships, a normal girlfriend, a somewhat oddball family. Until, that is, he literally stumbled through the fourth wall and discovered he was the protagonist of a manga. Now he's scrambling to maintain any semblance of control over his own life in the face of something he never imagined he would need to contend with: the power of the Genre. Hello, E.O. Tenkey here; thank you for your interest in "Not A Manga"! This was my first serial novel, and I hope you enjoy Xavier's predicament! Familiarity with manga not required (though it can't hurt)! I look forward to exploring the bounds of the Genre with you. (First volume is rated PG-13 for comic mayhem and light profanity—these are high school students, after all. Second volume is rated PG-13 to R for some violence and similar levels of profanity. Tags may or may not contain spoilers.)

Haven in a Dangerous World (Old)
Devin McMullen. Female. 18. Single dad. Dead mom. Good in fights and little else. No friends. Or, at least, that's what she's always been. Now, she's not sure exactly what she is. She's never been one for reading fiction, or anything for that matter, but this feels like something straight out of a fantasy. Her newly acquired instincts, however, scream dungeon core. Whatever that is. Unlike most dungeon cores, though, she's missing something very important. A dungeon. Stuck out in the open, above ground where she's definitely not supposed to be, with not a cave in sight, or any other land form besides miles and miles of ice and snow, Devin's not sure if she can survive. Update: Big caveate, though, just so you know. Started with this one idea and ran with it as far as I could. Characters and plot suffer from it, but I'm proud that I wrote as much as I did. I will rewrite this at some point and make it so it actually has plot. Check out my wordpress © [koallary] and [Haven in a Dangerous World], [2017].
