《The Golden Swan // Edward Cullen》Chapter fourteen

They quickly pull up to the Cullen's house. Edward, Alice and Emmett walked Brea and Bella up to the house, Edward pulled Brea into his chest when Laurent walked out of the door... Alice and Emmett immediately took defensive positions but Dr. Cullen appeared, putting his hand up.
"He came to warn us! About James," Dr. Cullen said.
They back off slightly.
"I've grown tired of his game, but he's got unparalleled senses. Absolutely lethal. I've never seen anything like him in three hundred years.....and the woman, Victoria, will back him. Don't underestimate her," Laurent sighed.
Dr. Cullen nodded.
Laurent looked at Edward and Brea, apologetic.
"I'm truly sorry for what's been unleashed here," Laurent said.
The side door bursts open... Edward, Brea, Bella and the Cullen's enter a large garage. Everyone but Rosalie springs into action, opening cupboards for supplies and extra batteries. They quickly load up the vehicles.
"I've had to fight our kind before! We're hard to kill," Jasper spoke up.
"But not impossible. We'll tear him up," Edward said.
"We'll rip him apart with our hands, then burn the pieces," Emmett smiled.
"This is insane! You all should not put yourselves in danger for us," Bella said.
"Bella," Brea whispered.
"Too late! Although I don't have a problem with Brea, it's you... Bella!" Rosalie snapped.
Bella jumped....moving behind Brea.
"I'll run Brea and Bella south, while you lead the tracker away," Edward replied, grabbing two sets of keys.
"No, Edward...The tracker thinks you won't leave Brea. He'll follow you," Dr. Cullen said.
"I'll go with Brea and Bella! Jasper and I will drive her south! I'll keep her safe! I'll keep them both safe," Alice smiled.
"Can you try and keep your thoughts to yourself?" Edward asked.

Alice nodded.
Edward opened one of Brea's suitcase and handed Esme and Rosalie a couple of jackets.
"Esme, Rosalie, put these one so the tracker will pick up Brea's scent," Edward said.
"I like Brea, I really do! But why should I? What is she to me? Just a danger you've inflicted on us," Rosalie growled.
Brea dropped her head...Rosalie noticed that her words hurt her, she instantly regretted them.
"Rosalie! Brea is with Edward. She's a part of this family now and we protect our family," Dr. Cullen sighed, squeezing Edward's shoulder.
Edward walked over to Brea....taking a few moments with her.
"If you get hurt, I swear to god..." Brea said but was cut off.
"We-I won't, there's five of us and two of them! When it's done, I'll come get you and Bella," Edward replied.
Edward pulled her closer, looking deeply into her eyes.
"You are my life now!" Edward smiled, pulling her in for one last hug.
Brea pulled away... and looking up at Edward.
Edward nodded...leaning in. His fingers traced her lips, and he quickly cupped her face...kissing her soft lips.
They pulled away... both wanting more.
Bella placed a hand on Brea's shoulder....
Brea took one last look at Edward and quickly got into the car.
Alice quickly sped out of the garage.
Brea and Bella looked out of the window... watching the trees turn into nothing but open fields and then into a familiar hot desert.
"Mom, It's me again. You must have let your phone die, again. Anyway, Bella and I are no longer in Forks anymore but we're okay. I'll explain everything when you call," Brea sighed, leaving her mother yet another voicemail.
Brea eyes open, she sat up looking over at her sister who was peacefully sleeping. She slowly crawled out of bed and made her way into the living room.

Jasper and Alice stare blankly at the tv. Several plates of hot food crowded the table in front of them.
Brea looked down at her phone and sighed.
"I-I wish he'd call," Brea spoke up.
"You need to eat," Alice said, looking over at Brea.
Brea shook her head and sat down next to them.
"They could get hurt or worse. It's not worth it," Brea replied.
"Yes! It is," Jasper spoke up.
Brea looked at him with a surprised expression, Jasper hadn't really talked to her very much.
"Edward's changed since he found you! And none of us want to look into his eyes for the next hundred years if he loses you! So believe me when I say it's worth it. You are worth it," Jasper smiled.
Suddenly, Both Brea and Alice grabbed their heads.
"What do you see?" Jasper asked, holding Alice.
"The tracker. He's changed his course," Both Brea and Alice said.
Jasper quickly sets a pad and paper, pencil in front of Alice.
"Where will it take him, Alice?" Jasper asked.
Brea closed her eyes. A disorienting vision of him standing in a room full of mirrors.
"Mirrors! It's a room of mirrors," Alice said, grabbing Brea's hand.
"W-Wow! What the hell just happened!" Brea replied, quickly standing up.
"H-How?" Alice asked, looking at Brea.
Bella stood in the doorway.
"How do the visions work? I thought they weren't always certain," Bella spoke up.
"She sees the course people are on, while they're on it! If they change their minds, the visions will change," Jasper said.
Bella walked closer.
"So the course James is on now will lead him to... a ballet studio?" Bella asked, quickly looking over at Brea.
"You've been here?" Alice asked, looking at both sisters.
"N-No. I don't know, Bella used to take ballet lessons as a kid...I always sat in the corner and read. The school had an arch like that," Brea said.
"Was your school here in Phoenix?" Jasper asked. Looking at Bella.
"Yeah, around the corner from my house. But I haven't been there in over ten years," Bella said.
"Do you have any reason to go back there?" Jasper asked, turning to look at Brea.
"No! Hell no! We-I hated that place, and I never danced," Brea sighed.
Suddenly Brea's phone started to ring. She looked down at it and smiled.
"Edward! Are you alright?" Brea asked.
"I'm coming to get you and Bella. We lost the tracker. The woman is still in the area. Rosalie and Esme are protecting your father," Edward said.
"I know! I saw Alice's visions. Edward this is all my fault. You warned me, but I didn't think. I just...." Brea replied but was cut off.
"Brea, we're in too deep. We can't change how we feel now," Edward smiled.
"No...we can't. When will you get here?" Brea asked.
"In a couple of hours! Then you and I....and Bella will go somewhere. Together. The others will keep hunting. Brea, I swear to you, I'll do whatever it takes to make you safe again," Edward said....meaning every word.
Brea's eyes started to well up.

The Joy of Evolution
"Alright, so I have this idea, a completely original one by the way, never done before." I say. "Alright, lets hear it." You reply happily. "What if you got trapped in the body of a tentacle monster that looks like a virus in a world that is like a videogame, with skills and... whoops slip of the tendril there, what I meant to say is Mutations and Levels as you evolve your way up from being that lowly creature into a slightly better lowly creature, all the while, an evil devil person watches over you for entertainment purposes." I say making weird hand gestures across the table. "Oh and that main character used to be a human male and uses its past experience as one to survive in this new world as a little mass of flesh." I pull out a little ball with suction cup tendrils and show you. "So, what do you think?" " I dont know seems, a little sameish, I think Im gonna go." You say as you start to get up from your worn but still plush velvet chair. "Wait" I sigh, " I didnt want to do this but you leave me no choice, I promise you an extremely diverse harem..." The door closes as you leave. "They'll come back." I say hopeful. Cover: https://phil.cdc.gov/Details.aspx?pid=21073

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)

Author's note: This is the first story I'm writting in a coherent manner (I have written a lot of DnD background stories in the past), so bear with me if I make boring or overdescriptive bits: I'll regularly come back to rewrite whichever parts feel unpolished, especially grammatical errors. I would also appreciate any corrections or suggestions.
