《The Golden Swan // Edward Cullen》Chapter twelve

Edward's Volvo turned off the paved highway and onto a long serpentine dirt road, it reached a small meadow, in the center of which sits a timeless graceful house.
Brea looked out the window....her jaw dropped.
"It's.....beautiful," Brea smiled.
"You expected turrets, dungeons and moats?" Edward smirked.
"N-no not the moats," Brea laughed.
Edward gently took her hand, and walked her up the stairs and inside.
"It's so light and open," Brea smiled, taking in the beautiful house.
"Thanks to tinted windows...It's the one place we never have to hide," Edward said.
Brea looked up when she heard a loud noise coming from upstairs.
"I-I told them not to do this," Edward sighed.
"I think it's sweet! No one has ever made food for me," Brea smiled.
"B-but you've already eaten," Edward said.
"A-and? They've gone through so much trouble, what's the harm? Brea replied.
Edward gazed down at her... every second he spends with her, he falls deeply in love with her.
They both enter the kitchen...Dr. Cullen, Emmett, Rosalie and an unfamiliar face were making Vegetable garden pasta, Brea's mouth watered when she smelled the air.
"Brea! We're making you Vegetable garden pasta!" The unfamiliar woman smiled.
"This is Esme, my mother for all intents and purposes," Edward smiled.
"Wow! This smells wonderful!" Brea said.
"You've given us an excuse to use the kitchen for the first time," Dr. Cullen replied.
.
Edward looked down at her and smiled.
"I hope you're hungry!" Esme said.
"Oh, Absolutely!" Brea replied.
They all looked at her and smiled.
Brea sat at the counter and took a big bite of the pasta, her mouth watered. She looked up and noticed everyone looking at her...intrigued.

"We don't mean to stare," Esme said.
"Oh no, it's okay," Brea laughed.
Edward walked beside her and took the plate away... Brea tried taking another bite but he took the fork away too. Brea frowned.
"It was amazing! I give it five stars!" Brea smiled.
"Next time, we'll cook something better," Esme laughed, pulling Brea in for a hug.
"Hi, Brea!" Alice greeted. Jumping off the rail, holding a bouquet of wildflowers...
Alice placed a kiss on Brea's cheek.
"Alice," Edward growled.
"It's alright! Brea and I are friends," Alice smiled.
"Hi, Jasper," Brea smiled. Looking over at Jasper.
Edward grabbed Brea's hand... and led her away from his family.
"I'll give you a tour of the house," Edward whispered.
"I'll see you soon!" Alice called out.
Edward snapped his head towards his sister... Alice giggled which caused Brea to smile.
They walked up another flight of stairs, Brea stopped when she noticed a dozen of artistically arrayed silk squares with tassels. Brea looked closer.
"Graduation capes?" Brea asked.
"A private joke! We matriculate a lot," Edward laughed.
"What a nightmare, repeating high school," Brea smiled.
"True, but the younger we start out in a new place, the longer we can stay there," Edward sighed.
Edward led Brea into a room, she looked around.
"And this is my room," Edward said.
"So you're obsessed with music and reading. But no bed?" Brea asked, walking around looking at all the old worn out books.
"I don't sleep," Edward smiled.
"Ever?" Brea questioned.
"No nightmare, no drool, no snoring," Edward laughed.
Brea walked over to the large wall, where he had all of his music. She ran her finger along the wall, studying the titles.

"Do you have any favorites?" Edward asked, walking closer to her.
"Depends. I listen to almost everything. Alternative? Jazz? Sixties, seventies," Brea listed off.
"Ohh, she knows her music. Alright! Nineties. Eighteen-nineties. Classical," Edward said.
"I'd have to say....Debussy!" Brea smiled.
Edward looked at her with such surprise.
"My favorite, too," Edward smiled.
Edward turned the CD player on... a solo piano version of CLAIR DE LUNE started to play.
He takes her hand and pulls her close. And soon they started dancing. Brea pulled away and laughed.
"I-I don't really dance," Brea said.
"Ever?" Edward asked, knowing she was lying.
"Well, only behind closed doors... with my sister," Brea replied.
"I can always make you," Edward smirked.
"You don't scare me," Brea smiled.
"You really shouldn't have said that," Edward said.
Edward growled... Brea laughed and backed out of the door, onto Edward's deck.
Brea backed up to the rail... Edward appeared in the doorway, standing in a half-crouch, about to pounce,
"Don't you dare!" Brea laughed.
Suddenly, she's airborne as Edward tackles her and they fly off his deck, where she then found herself in a tree.
She wrapped her arms around Edward... and started to laugh, Edward gazed at her and quickly started to laugh heartily with her. Both feeling very much alive.
Edward looked Brea in the eye.
"Trust me?" Edward asked.
"Always!" Brea smiled.
"Then close your eyes," Edward said.
She does as she is told. Edward grips her more firmly, then leaped to another tree. Climbing to the very top.
"Open!" Edward said.
Brea opened her eyes..... She takes in the breathtaking view, while Edward gazed at her.

Across the Realms [Dropped]
Disclaimer: I'll leave this on here for anyone to read. The last time I uploaded a chapter was nearly a year ago, and to all the readers who still kept their trust in me after I came back from my umpteenth hiatus, I am sorry. I will not carry on writing this; I started off without the correct foundations of a novel, nor commitment to fully finish it and I do not want to lie to you all once again. Maybe one day, I may decide to re-write the novel, with a new basis or at least a comprehensive starting point with many of the narrative errors cleared up; but, till then, this is goodbye. And, once again, thank you for the motivation you gave me. Even now, I see many emails come through with people commenting. Goodbye. A child blessed by the Astral. An unprecedented destiny. Watch his path, as he marches up the stairway of Heaven. A March of a Sovereign. [Adventure, Wuxia, Martial Arts, Fantasy] This is a Qihuan novel; it has eastern and western fantasy elements. More often than not in Xianxia or Xuanhuan there is a severe lack of character development, being a western writer I'm changing that. My characters, from my totally unbiased view, feel fleshed out and actually have emotions. This is my first attempt at a novel, I'm writing as a means to better convey my thoughts. I will, hopefully, steadily improve chapter-by-chapter. I'm very open to feedback and constructive criticism. As one can see this is a cultivation novel, so you know how this goes. I've decided to jump-start the whole rags-to-riches scenario. He is strong from the start and is given the utility to do so. *The cover art is not my own, all rights reserved to the owner. I will take it down if necessary. *The style of the recent chapters is comparatively different than Chapter 1.

Taking Another Look
It's been awhile since I last made a story, I feel like making a fake journal. A twist on thoughts. Although I say fake, I would say in actuality, real situations I just want to call fictional because life sucks at times.

Red Clay Technical Services: Mercenaries, Magicians, and Marketing
Bobby likes Pabst Blue Ribbon, NASCAR races, and throwing fireballs. A through and through Georgia boy, raised down in the sticks but now working with all things mystic. He is, in other words, a magician. Not just any magician- but one bound by the most egregious of terms: business contracts. See, a long time ago, Bobby got himself involved with a dragon whose business was making magicians, and Bobby wanted magic to be his business. Both of them having common interest, Bobby agreed to sign over his services in exchange for phenomenal (draconic) magic. A pretty awesome deal, right? The contract put him at the top percentage of human magicians, on top of having the backing of a dragon patron, and a fantastic set of benefits befitting an esteemed contractor, so it'd be smooth sailing from then on, right? Not so. That kind of power isn't granted without strings attached, and Bobby's practically bound up in them. Following the esoteric laws set forth by magicians , juggling them with the mortal interests he still has to abide by, and finding himself at the beck and call of a fickle and opaque patron makes his life as a magician a rollercoaster of ups and downs. But when his patron sets him on a strange task- with stranger company, no less, even Bobby has to question what his mission really is. Delving into fantastic crimes and cracking open mysteries is just the least he can do, and he'll do it with the help of his gun, his wand, and his trusted allies both large and small. --- Cover art is of the Georgia Guidestones.
