Brea stood in the center of the deserted, green lawn.....

Edward stood on the other side of the lawn, staring at Brea... as she stared back.

She walked past him, walking straight towards the dark forest that bordered the school.

Brea stood in the midst of trees, waiting.

Suddenly Edward appeared behind her.

"You're impossibly fast. And strong. Your skin is pale-white, ice-cold. Your eyes change color. And sometime you speak like...you're from a different time," Brea paused, turning to look at him.

"You never eat food, or drink, or come out in the sunlight. I know about the treaty," Brea continued.

Brea took a step closer to him.

"How old are you?" Brea asked.

"Seventeen!" Edward said.

"How long have you been seventeen?" Brea questioned.

Edward looked at her...knowing he can't hide anymore.

"A while," Edward replied.

Brea took a deep breath...preparing herself for what she was about to say.

"I know what the Cold Ones are. W-what you are," Brea said.

"Say it! Out loud. SAY IT! Edward growled.

"Vampire," Brea whispered.

"Are you afraid?" Edward asked.

"No," Brea said.

"Then ask me the most basic question: what do we eat?" Edward snapped.

"You won't hurt me, you're different," Brea sighed.

"Y-you think you know me," Edward scoffed.

Brea stood her ground...while Edward glares at her. Suddenly, he took her by the hand.

"W-where are we going?" Brea asked.

"Up the mountain. Out of the cloud bank. You need to see what I really am. What I look like in the harsh light of the sun," Edward said.

"Won't it kill you?" Brea asked.

"Myth. You need to see the truth," Edward smirked.

He pulled her but she stumbled....

"Slow down," Brea mumbled.

Suddenly, he's next to her.

"Are you afraid?" Edward asked.

"Of course not," Brea said...but deep down she was.

"Then come with me! Someplace where no one can protect you. Where I could do what I've wanted to do from the first moment I met you," Edward said.

"Okay," Brea replied.

"You should be afraid," Edward said, coldly.

Edward abruptly and effortlessly scoops her up into her arms... and raced up through the forest, Brea looked around. As he started picking up his speed. It was frightening, nauseating and intoxicating.

"Are you afraid?!" Edward growled.

"NO!" Brea snapped.

She clung onto him tighter. They climb in altitude...higher and higher, above the fog layer.

Brea found herself sitting on the ground, against a tree...she looked around and realized she was alone.

"Edward? Where are you?" Brea asked.

She stood up, taking a few steps just beyond the fringes of the ferns... and slowly walked into a breathtaking meadow. She gasp, at such a beautiful sight... She looked around and finally saw Edward, who had his shirt opened, standing nearby in the shade of some trees. He watched her cautiously but with love. Brea took a step toward him, but he held up his hand. She waited. Finally, he took a deep breath and stepped out of the shade.

"This is why we don't show ourselves in the sunlight," Edward said.

Brea looked at Edward with such Awe.... He was sparkling, he is magnificent, shimmering, like a statue carved from glittering crystal.

"This is what I am," Edward replied.

"Edward...You're beautiful!" Brea smiled. She reached out to touch him, but he immediately backed into the shadows, his skin normal again.

"B-Beautiful? I'm a killer, Brea! This is the skin of a killer," Edward replied

"I don't believe that," Brea sighed.

"Because you believe the lie! The camouflage. I'm the world's most dangerous predator. Everything about me invites you in- my voice, my face, even my smell. As if i need any of that," Edward paused, racing up behind her, then in front of her and then gone.

"As if you could outrun me! As if you could fight me off!" Edward shouted, from beside a tree... then abruptly ripped off a large tree limb, then threw it against a tree trunk.

"I'm designed to kill!" Edward growled.

"I don't care," Brea said.

"I've killed people," Edward sighed.

"It doesn't matter," Brea replied.

"I wanted to kill you. I've never wanted a human's blood so much in my life. I'm dangerous to you," Edward said.

"I trust you!" Brea smiled.

"Don't!" Edward snapped.

"I trust you, Edward! I'm here! I won't leave you, not now or ever," Brea said.

Brea took his hand...Edward smiled at the warmth of her skin, she leaned in...drawn to him, unaware that her throat is nearing his lips. In a blink of an eye, he's gone.

"Edward?" Brea questioned.

She looked over to find him on the other side of the meadow, catching his breath.

"Y-You took me by surprise...I don't know how to...do this," Edward paused, quickly gathering himself.

"Me, and my family, we're different from others of our kind. We're not nomadic, we have a permanent home. We only hunt animals. We've learned to control our thirst..." Edward continued.

"I remember Alice telling, that you all are vegetarians," Brea said.

"B-But you-your scent, it's like a drug to me...my very own personal brand of heroin," Edward continued.

"I-I thought you hated me," Brea replied.

"I did at first....but that only made me want you even more. I'm still not sure I can control myself," Edward said.

He reached for her.

"I know you can," Brea smiled.

"I wish I could understand this thing you see in me. You look at me with those beautiful blue eyes..." Edward paused, trying to read her mind.

Brea smirked, closing off her mind...so he couldn't see how she truly felt about him.

"I-I can't read your mine, right now. Tell me what you're thinking," Edward said.

"I'm afraid," Brea sighed.

"Good," Edward said, sadness filled inside of him...he dropped to his knees.

Brea sat down next to him, looking off into the distance.

"Not of that. I'm afraid... you'll disappear. That I'll lose you," Brea sighed.

"You don't know how long I've looked for you," Edward smiled.

They both share a smile....then Edward started to lean in.

"Be very still," Edward whispered, leaning in closer to Brea.

She doesn't move....He places his hand on her throat, the rush between them is overwhelming. But Brea doesn't move. They're both overwhelmed, taking each other in.

"So the lion fell for the lamb," Edward said.

"What a stupid Lamb," Brea laughed.

"Such a sick masochistic lion," Edward smirked.

They both lay down in the meadow, as close as they dare.....his hand placed on her heart.
