As Brea sits in front of her computer, lost deep in thought. She shook herself out of it and typed into her search bar 'Quileute legend, Olympic Peninsula' an AD popped up, 'Thunderbird & Whale Hook store, Port Angeles' Brea is deeply intrigued and clicked on it, quickly writing down the address and rushed out of the house...Climbing on her bike and rode off to school.
Brea pulled into the parking lot and sighed. She looked up and noticed the sun was out.
"He's not here," Jessica said... as Brea looked around for Edward,
Brea looked down and found Jessica sitting on the grass.
"Whenever the weather's nice, the Cullen's disappear," Jessica replied.
"T-they just ditch?" Brea questioned.
"No, Dr. and Mrs. Cullen yank them out for hiking, camping and stuff. I tried the idea out on my parents. Not even close," Jessica laughed.
Suddenly Angela wrapped her arms around Brea, pulling her into a tight hug... catching her off guard.
"I'm going to the prom with Eric! I just asked him, I took control!" Angela smiled.
Bella walked up towards them.
"Are you sure you both have to go out of town?" Angela asked.
Brea looked at Bella, giving her a look.
"It's a family thing," Bella sighed.
"Oh my god! We need to hit the stores in Port Angeles before the good dresses get cleaned out," Jessica said.
"Port Angeles? Do you mind if I tag along?" Brea asked.
Bella looked at Brea, with a surprised expression.
"Thank god! We will need both of your opinions!" Angela smiled.
Brea pulled out a piece of paper with the address on it of the nearby bookstore.
"Brea?" Bella asked.
"You guys look great!" Brea smiled.
Bella sat next to Brea, watching as her mind wondered.
A group of college guys walked by... stopping in front of the window, staring at the girls. They all howled like wolves.
"That's disgusting," Brea mumbled.
"You said that about the last five dresses," Jessica groaned.
"You're not very into this, are you?" Angela asked.
"I actually need to go check out this book store! But I'll meet up with you guys after," Brea smiled.
"You sure!?" Angela asked.
Brea nodded, and grabbed her things.
Bella stood up and tried to join her... Brea shook her head no.
Brea walked out of the bookstore, thumbing through a book she just bought. She headed down the sidewalk...she heard footsteps behind her, but she ignored them.... She turned down the sidewalk, the footsteps got louder... Brea put the book in her shoulder bag and continued to walk. Faster.
Isolated. Brea breath is short, scared...she turned around and sees two men emerge from the shadows....the frat boys from earlier, who are now wasted.

"Wanna drink?" One of them asked.
She looked to her left, two more guys appeared... she's concerned. Brea takes off her bag and hands it to them.
"Look, just take my bag!" Brea said.
"We don't want your bag!" Another guy replied.
Brea takes a defensive stances. Ready to fight back. One of them walked closer to her, she threw a punch...knocking him down. The other three close in on her. Anger grew inside of her, She grabbed one of the other guys arm and twisted hard, hearing a snap. The guy screamed out in pain, and fell to the ground.
Suddenly a sliver Volvo screeches up...The remaining two Frat boys dive out of the way. Brea went and tried to charge them, but felt a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist.
"LET ME AT THEM!" Brea yelled, kicking and screaming.
The Frat boys look at her and smirk.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" Brea growled.
"Brea! Calm down, please just get in," a familiar voice said.
She stopped fighting and turned to see Edward.
Brea gave in...Edward set Brea down and she walked over to his car, quickly getting in.
Edward quickly gets in the car and drives away.
"W-what-no, how did you find me.." Brea said, in complete shock.
"I should go back and rip their heads off!" Edward growled.
"Nope. bad idea!" Brea replied.
"You don't know the vile, repulsive things they were thinking," Edward said.
"I-I actually do," Brea replied, looking down at her hands.
"R-Really? How?" Edward asked, quickly calming down.
"Maybe later, I actually have to meet my sister and her friends," Brea sighed.
They quickly pulled up to the restaurant where Brea was supposed to meet Bella and her friends. All three girls were walking out.
"Where were you!? I left so many messages!" Bella said.
"W-we waited, but we were starving," Jessica spoke up.
Edward stood behind Brea, with a smirk on his face.
"S-sorry I kept Brea from dinner. We ran into each other and got talking," Edward said.
"I-we understand! We were just... leaving," Bella smiled.
The three girls start to leave...forcing Brea to go with them.
"Okay, Well. Thank you," Brea said, turning to look at Edward.
She started to follow them. Edward looked completely torn.
"Maybe I should make sure Brea gets something to eat...If you'd like. Then I could drive you back myself," Edward smiled.
Brea looked at him, with a surprised expression.
"That's so-thoughtful," Bella nodded.
"Really thoughtful," Angela smiled.
"I-I guess I could eat," Brea shrugged.
Edward guides Brea away, all three girls squeal in excitement.
Brea and Edward sit on the deck...a dramatic waterfall shimmers behind them.

A waitress places a steaming bowl of Vegetarian chili in front of Brea.
"You're not eating?" Brea asked.
"I'm on a special diet. Now tell me something, how long have you been hearing voices?" Edward questioned.
"It all started happening when I was younger.... but they stopped for awhile, then started happening again when I moved here," Brea shrugged.
"Interesting," Edward said.
"S-so how about some answers!?" Brea questioned, wanting to know more about Edward.
"Yes, No. To get to the other side, and 1.772453851," Edward smiled.
"I didn't ask for the square root of PI," Brea laughed.
"You knew that?" Edward asked.
"How did you know where I was?" Brea questioned.
"I didn't," Edward said.
Brea stood up and tried to leave...but Edward grabbed her hand.
"Don't go please," Edward begged.
"Were you following?" Brea asked, sitting back down.
"I-I feel very protective of you," Edward said. Looking down at his hands.
"So that's a yes?" Brea questioned.
"Yes, I followed you. I tried to keep my distance...until you needed help, but you seemed to have taken care of them yourself," Edward smiled.
"Y-you said before...that you heard what those guys were thinking... Can you r-read minds as well?" Brea asked,
"I'm thinking of getting a nine hundred number," Edward shrugged.
"Alright! So you and I can read minds.... What am I thinking?" Brea asked, grinning.
"Your favorite movie is Gone with the Wind. What am I thinking?" Edward smiled.
Brea looked into his eyes.
Brea smiled.
"You think I'm b-beautiful," Brea said.
"Sometimes I can't read your mind, which is quite frustrating," Edward replied.
Edward smiled, charmed by her. But his smile fades, that torn look returns....he grabbed onto the rail, and looked out into the distance.
"What is it?" Brea asked.
"I-I don't have the strength to stay away from you anymore," Edward sighed.
"Then don't," Brea said.
"You're cold. We should go!" Edward replied, changing the subject.
He stood up and walked away before she could ask anymore questions.
Brea glanced at Edward, debating if she should ask another question...but he seemed to be wrestling with his own thoughts, Brea tried reading his mind but it was as if she couldn't anymore.
"I-I think I'm warm enough now," Brea spoke up.
She reaches for the heater dial, Edward does as well. Their hands touch...and hold a moment longer. An electric current connecting them.
"Wow your hand is still freezing cold," Brea said.
Edward pulled his hand away, Brea kept looking at it....then her attention shifted outside to flashing police lights. She noticed Charlie's cruiser was parked out front.
"My dad's here late. Something must have happened," Brea said with concern in her voice.
"That's my father's car at the end," Edward replied, pulling into the police station.
Dr. Cullen walked out of the station and Brea and Edward climbed out of his car.
"Carlisle! What happened?" Edward asked.
"Waylon Forge was found in the woods out near his place. I just examined the body," Dr. Cullen sighed.
"He's dead? How?" Brea asked.
"Animal attack," Dr. Cullen said.
"The same kind that killed the security guard down in Mason?" Brea questioned.
Edward and Dr. Cullen traded a look...Brea catches on.
"Most likely!" Dr. Cullen replied.
Without even thinking Brea raced up the stairs and into the station... wanting to check on her father.
"Dad, I am so sorry about Waylon," Brea sighed, tearing up.
"Known him going on thirty years," Charlie said.
Brea rested her hand on his shoulder and gave him a comforting squeeze. Charlie put his hand on hers...giving her a small smile.
"W-where is your sister?" Charlie asked.
"She is off with friends, probably home now," Brea said.
"We'll get to the bottom of this, Brea. But in the meantime, I want you to carry this. I'll give your sister one as well," Charlie replied, handing her a can of pepper spray.
"Dad, I can defend myself just fine!" Brea sighed.
"It'll give me some peace of mind, Brea," Charlie said.
She looked into his sad eyes and noticed he needed this deeply... she sighed, handing him her bag and watched as he placed it in her bag.
Once they got home, Brea went straight upstairs....she turned on the light. She heard a loud snap outside the window, she listened closely and noticed it was the wind. Brea walked over to the window and closed the curtains, then reached for the book she had bought earlier.
As she flipped through the pages, she sees photos of ancient, carved masks. Comical, menacing, hunting...she stopped when she saw a photo of a white mask with black eyes and a row of sharp teeth.
"The cold one," Brea whispered.
Brea walked over to her computer.... Searching. Finding the answers she was seeking.
Speed. Strength. Cold skinned. Immortal. Blood drinker
Brea moved away from her computer in utter disbelief... but she wanted to learn more, more about what Edward really was. She knew she had to confront him.

Because of circumstance the release times might be far apart but i plan on finishing this thing even if support is nonexistent. My Hermit Life
My name is Solomon Ars Regis I am a veteran who lost both legs while on duty. One day after I was released from physical therapy early I came home to find my girlfriend cheating on me with my brother, feeling betrayed I scream at them to leave my house. A few hours of brooding later I decide to go to sleep. When I wake up I am in a forest in a different world. Hi this is my first story so please dont expect much. Disclaimer - I say hermit in that he lives in a cave in a giant forest with his wife and and master with occasional visits from his parents or other creatures. I do not use hermit in a religious sense or in that he lives entirely alone. The first few chapters are worse than some later chapters. If you can get through to chapter 24 you will find that the quality increases. I will do a rewrite eventually so look forward to that . . . . . if you want.
