《A Go Go Squid story》"Baby, baby just breath, please"

The big game was in a few hours. Afters days of training, hours without seeing the sun outside, the boys were ready to go on a new fight to win this competition. It was not the world championships but it was a good way to keep showing everyone who was watching them that the K and K team was the best one. They were all ready for this big day, their feelings mixed between, excitement and stress. With Han Changyan as a boss, failure had never been an option. Of course, with Tong Nian by his side, he had became more human, as Demo liked to remind him. But when it came to competition he was still hard on them. If he was not a gamer anymore, then he wanted his team to be the best ever, to have no regrets and make himself proud.
The day started like any other competition day. They had breakfast with the Solo guys, trained, had a meeting with their boss, trained again, ate, trained, and finally went on stage after encouraging each others in a big group hug. Everything was supposed to be easy, the other teams, beside the Solo one, were very young and not as experienced as them. K and K and Solo were basically sure to play the finals against each other, like most of the time. But it didn't happen this way. The K and K semi final ended in a big chaos. The boys were doing fine, focused on their game, not making any mistakes... well that's what they thought. The moment the officials were supposed to announce their victory, a big gong echoed on stage. That gong no one ever wanted to hear. Because that gong meant that the team was disqualified. It was very rare in this kind of competition, to disqualify a team, ever rarer when it came to such a high level of gaming.
"What just happened? What is this?". Tong Nian had still a lot to learn about all of this universe. But seeing everyone's face around her was enough to understand that it was not good. Not good at all.
"They are disqualified", Yaya was as shocked as the rest of the team. As a gamer herself, she knew too well what the gong meant.
"How can they be disqualified? What -"
"It usually means one of the competitor used a cheating trick to win a game", Yaya was trying to explain her friend the situation. She was pointing a small room, at the second floor: "See this? The referees watch the games from this box, and they check if everything is going according to the rules. They are the ones who decide, in the end, to claim the victory for one of the team. Usually, we never hear of them, but today, I don't know what happened..."
Tong Nian knew now was not the time to ask any question to Han Changyan. She could see how angry he was. And she could tell that he was about to explode. He was sometimes harsh on his boys but he trusted them 100 %. He was absolutely sure this was a mistake and that none of them would ever cheat, especially not in such an important competition.
"Boss !", the boys were all around him, trying to understand the situation, swearing that it was a mistake, that they were supposed to win the game and that it was unfair. The crowd was hysterical. Cheating, in the video games world, was the one unforgivable thing to do. It could ruin a career, ruin a team and force a bankrupt. And now that the K and K team was so popular and famous, their games were streamed all over the world, which meant it only took five minutes for everyone to know about them being disqualified for cheating.

"Cheaters !", "Shame on you!", "You don't deserve all your titles!". People from the crowd were screaming at them, other were trying to defend them, some fights even started between fans and anti-fans.
"Boss ! We didn't do anything!"
"I know, come with me". Han Changyan, said, leaving the hall in a rush, followed by his team and his wife by his side, blood running through his veins. They were walking so fast it only took them a few minutes to end up in front of the referees little box, in the corridor. The teams were not allowed here, of course, but it didn't stop Han Changyan to loudly bang on the door, swearing that he would break it if they didn't open. One man finally got out to ask Gun to calm down and not make a scene.
"You disqualified us and now you are asking me not to make a scene ! Is this a fucking joke !"
"Sir, calm down please", said another man, older this time.
"I won't calm down till you don't explain me what the fuck was this gong. You are calling us cheaters, my boys are not cheaters, I won't calm down!", his tone was louder and louder. There were too things Han Changyan would always protect at all cost, his wife and his team.
Tong Nian was by his side, she knew that there was nothing she couldn't do right now to calm him, but she also knew that her only presence was enough to make him keep his control and not end up fighting all of them. She was not sure what really happened, but just like her husband, she was absolutely convinced the boys would never cheat. They didn't even need cheating, they were the best team, they would be dumb to put themselves in such a bad situation. All of their victories were the result of their intense training, their talent, and their passion.
"Sir, you can always challenge our decision, but it will take days, so I suggest you to stop screaming and threatening us just now", the older referee said, trying to cowardly leave as far as he could from the angered young boys and their boss.
"I am not threatening anyone, I am asking for answers!" Han Changyan was losing patience. "You made a mistake, you have to correct it, that's easy. No threat", he continued, with a sarcastic tone. He was about to continue his long rant when a man interrupted them. A tall man, confident, walking in their direction.
"Sir, sir, sir, I think we should talk about all of this in private", he said. "We don't want bad publicity, right?", he added, smirking directly at Gun and his team. For a weird reason, his eyes were challenging Han Changyan's ones. His face was composed, calm, yet strangely threatening. Tong Nian, sill next to her husband, was having a weird feeling about him. Did Han Changyan feel it too? Because as soon as he approached them, he grabbed her hand, strongly, not saying anything else. In the same time, for an unexplained reason, she was suddenly only focused on this man, her eyes couldn't leave his face. His voice was reasonating in her ears. And she could swear that he had just smiled at her.
That's when it hit her.
The scar.
Between his eyes, just above his nose, he had a scar.

Tong Nian was trying her best to stay calm, but her heart was becoming painful, her whole chest was hurting. Breath, breath, she kept telling to herself. But her body was not responding to her brain. She couldn't breath, she was paralyzed, in front of this man. She was doing all she could not to be noticed. She didn't want to worry anyone one, especially not her lover who was already in the middle of his own crisis. She decided to take a step back, slowly moving away from him and the team, trying to go to her room. But her breath was becoming more and more painful, everything around her looked like it was in slow motion. She was sweating, she couldn't hear anything around her. To keep her balance, she tried to catch the wall, but it was not helpful anymore since her legs, so shaky, were not able to move and made her fell on the floor. In an instant, Han Changyan was by her side, kneeling in front of her.
"Tong Nian!", he screamed, running to his wife. "Hey, hey, hey, look at me, what's happening", he said, grabbing her face in his large hands. He could see that her eyes were not able to focus anymore, and that she was totally out of breath.
"I... I can't...", she was trying to tell him that she was obviously in the middle of a panic attack, but she couldn't even talk. All she could do was grab his shirt with her tiny fingers, asking for help in a silent plea.
From not so far, the boys were watching the scene, helpless. They didn't want to say it, but after Tong Nian was found in the storage room, they couldn't sleep for days. The young girl was like a sister to them, the angel fallen from the sky to make their devilish boss more human. She made them happy. They couldn't stand seeing her hurt again, or sad, and they knew how hard it was for Han Changyan to go through all of this as well. They were all dreaming of their good old days, where she could just be the innocent genius discovering love with their cold boss.
"Baby, baby just breath, please", Han Changyan had never seen his wife like this. Her nightmares were nothing compared to what she was going through at this moment. He wanted to carry her to their room, call a doctor, but he was not even sure moving her was a good idea. He needed her to calm her heartbeat and breath again. "Please, Nian Nian, look at me", he pleaded once again, but she was not able to focus on anything.
Her chest was burning, it felt like she was dying. He knew that asking her anything would not make her feel any better. So he decided to try something else, to make her focus only on his voice. With his softest tone, his hands still wrapped around her cheeks, his eyes deep into her non responding ones, he started to sing a song, the same one he sang to her that day in the countryside, when he borrowed a guitar to a little boy. His voice was almost inaudible for the ones around them. He wanted to make her feel safe, at home, by just listening to him.
When the song ended, he could feel that her heart was calming little by little, and that she was starting to breath almost normally. She had tears all over her eyes. Tears he whipped with his thumbs. To make sure she was ok, he put his right hand on her heart, the other one gently caressing her hair. She was finally able to look at him. In her eyes, for the first time since the attack, he saw despair and fear.
"I'm sorry", she whispered, her voice cracking.
"Hey, no, you have nothing to be sorry about", he tried to reassure her. But how could she not feel guilty. His team was having the hardest time and she was just adding even more problems. The least he needed right now was worrying for her. But she knew that the man who made her feel like this was just right there, looking at them. The only thought of turning her head and see him once again, staring, was enough to make her at of breath again. She was scared. For the past month, she told herself that she was strong enough but it seemed that she was not. She was traumatized. Her throat tightened one more time, her palms started to become sweaty again, her painful chest hitting her. Not again, she said to herself.
"No, no no no no, Nian Nian, baby, just stay with me", Han Changyan told her, trying his best to avoid a new panic attack. Seeing her so vulnerable, scared, was a nightmare for him. If he could, he would put her in a bubble, to protect her from any pain and injuries.
"I'm sorry", she said again, bursting into tears. He was hugging her tight, he didn't care that everyone around them was still watching. His only concern was her.
"Shhhhh, it's ok, baby", he said in her ear, to calm her down one more time. He could her behind them his boys being worried. "What is happening with sister-in-law?", "Is she going to be ok?", "Can we do something for her?"
She knew that she had to tell her husband the reason behind this panic attack, but after all he went through the past hours, she was not sure he could handle it. But it seemed that she didn't have to say anything. Still whispering in her ear, hugging her, he said: "I'll make him pay". She moved her face, looking deep into his eyes, silently questioning How do you know? Did he really need to answer this ? He had listened to his wife when she told the police about the attack, he had carefully remember every details of it. The scar, his voice, his words before he left her in the room, helpless... "Say Hi to your boyfriend"
He turned around, not letting go of her. It was his time, now, to challenge the man. He didn't need to say anything, his dark face was enough to make a statement. Everyone around them could feel the tension in the corridor.
"Well, I guess we'll talk in private, later", the man said, not hiding his smirk. Who was he?

8 4203Life in another world with an Immunity System
NOTE: I just finished a large scale editing with the chapters. From now on, the world is no longer a 1000X Earth. I have added my original element. From here on, with a few exceptions, no similarity can be found with our Earth. Thank you. The change has been applied from chapter 1. So if anyone finds any missed places or traces of my previous world-building, please comment and notify me. Andel lived in a world where those with powers will have the final say in everything. In his world, having no aptitude to either magic or Ki means you are even worse than ants. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any aptitude to either. His life should have been hell, but due to being the son of two powerful parents and descendant of a powerful family saved him from a wretched fate. Life was harsh, but Andel wasn’t one to mourn and do nothing. From his childhood, he learned all kinds of close-combat styles and martial arts, proving himself to be a genius at close combat as long as ki isn’t involved. As genius as he was, there was no way he could match those with powers, right? Wrong! Andel had another identity. He was originally a person from Earth who got transmigrated after an accident. Moreover, during his transmigration, he also gained a system that gave him resistance to various things in exchange for experience points. With the Immunity System in hand, Andel decided to finally step into this magical new world and make a name for himself, after spending twenty years in training.
