《Scarlet Taste (Vampire! Yandere x Emotionless! Reader)》29. Game over

After your bath, you and Cain fell asleep. He promised to get you a bra which was nice. You didn't really like not wearing one.
On a stage was a pure white blanket. There was a spotlight on it. It looked like someone was underneath. You sat in an audience full of people you've seen throughout your life. Joel and her family, your stepfather and your biological father, your brother, John and his family, your art teacher... everyone and they all watched the curtain close and then open again.
There, which replaced the white blanket was a pink noose and a woman. A very beautiful woman. It was your mother. She stood atop a wooden chair and then she began to speak in a soothing voice. The same voice she would use when she spoke to you as a young child. You stand up.
"I used to be happy." She toys with the noose. "I used to have a husband that loved me and a neighborhood that adored us both."
You open your mouth to call her, but no sound comes out... you didn't have a mouth.
"I used to be happy. I used to be happy." You mother points to you, smiling lovingly.
"And then I had her." A light shins on you and the crowd boos.... all except Thomas, who just smiled. "I had her and my life was ruined."
You try to leave the theater, but everyone was circled around you.
"You ruined my life." She slipped the pink noose around her neck. "Did you know that pink was my favorite color?" She laughs and the audience laughs too. How dare they? How dare they?!
"Hey (y/n)?"
You look away, but Cayden grabs your head and turns it towards the stage.

"I love you." She say, smiling evilly.
Sarcasm really could be used as a weapon.
She kicked the chair over. You were right in front of her. You were so close that you could touch her feet. She wasn't dead yet, you could save her, but when you went to hold her up, when you went to help her... you arms were pulled back.
And what you saw behind you was Cain. He frowned.
"Don't you love me?" He asks. "You don't need her do you? Am I not enough to make you happy? Don't you want me here with you?"
You couldn't speak, but you tried to answer him. It didn't work.
"You killed her (y/n). Why try saving her now... you'll always have me."
"Always?" You say in your sleep. There were no tears, you just sounded confused... confused and hopeful.
"Always." Cain says, his eyes glowing dangerously.
Earlier, Cain was going to drink your blood. He was craving it especially after the bath. You were just being so cute and it didn't help that he was thinking about fantasies for about half of it. Just before he could even get close enough to sink is fangs into your shoulder, you began talking in your sleep and him, being curious, listened. You were saying simple things at first and then you suddenly told him something special.
"No, you are enough. Don't leave." You say. You sounded panicked.
Cain decided to answer back, smirking. What has got you so riled up?
"You'll always have me." He chuckles.
"Always?" You asked
"Always." He said.
Now it was after your little conversation. He didn't drink from you, he decided to do something far worse. He fed you his blood. He was hoping he would get you to bite him. He wasn't really bothered by pain especially if you were the one inflicting it, but you were indecisive when he asked you about drinking his blood, so he made the choice for you. He was going to make you drink it.

He didn't really feel to bad. The only things that made him particularly sad was the fact that he would never see your (e/c) eyes ever again... oh and he had to kill you. How sad. It was inevitable. He was going to do this ever since you asked him to be your friend. Even if you two just stayed friends, he wouldn't allow you to stay human because you'd eventually pass away and he doubted he be around to save you from that. He wouldn't give you up... you were his first and only friend and his first and only love.
Biting into his right thumb, Cain takes in a bunch of his own blood into his mouth. He would have to drink some of your blood later to heal his wound. Cain wraps his left hand around your neck, pushing his thumb into your throat and cutting off your air ways. He did this all with one hand and used his other hand to cover your eyes, getting his blood all over your face. He didn't want you to see him. After having a hard time breathing, you open your eyes in a sudden panic before calming down completely.
You didn't want to die... you really didn't it want to, but would it be so bad?
It's okay right?
Just like in your dream, you couldn't speak. The difference was that you couldn't see. The pain in your lungs didn't really prove that what was happening wasn't a continuation of your dream. You've felt pain in dreams. Choking was better that watching your mother die over and over again. It was better than looking at Cain's deranged smile as he held you back from saving her.
After the dream version of Cain had told you he would stay with you always, he grinned at you. It was the same one he gave you before he chased after you earlier that day. It still scared you and thinking about the fear still pissed you off. At some point, you had lost all feeling in you body, and your consciousness and unconsciousness begins to fade from the world as you tried you very best to at least take one single breath.
You never did though and Cain placed his lips over yours, forcing you to take all of his blood into your mouth. He loosened his grip just a little to allow you to drink it all, before tightening, his grip stronger than before, not letting you take a breath of air. He didn't want you to die before you could drink it or you'd literally shit yourself and you didn't deserve that type of treatment.
You placed you hand, gently over Cain's. You didn't know if it was him... Cain would never hurt you like this. He told you he wouldn't hurt you. You trusted Cain like a puppy giving complete trust to it's master. He was your world... he would never ever... hurt you.
And so you died, thinking the best of Cain till the very end.

Cheep!?
Charles Monroe survived the disappearance of his parents, did his best to hold things together for himself and his sister. He survived when she, too, vanished, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. He was devastated, but he kept moving forward as best he could. Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. Now, on the bridge between life and death, he hears a voice claiming to know where his family went. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
