"(Y/n)?"

You were a small child, no older than six. In a field full of flowers of different colors and kinds, your mother rest beside you. Her hair was long and shiny and she was wearing a white, silky dress. The whole world was made up of pastel colors and you lived for it. Those colors were the kind that your mother always adored.

"Yes momma?"

You were laying right beside your mother, her arm wrapped around your shoulder. There was a breeze that moved the flowers around you constantly, but your mother kept you warm. That was her special ability.

"Why'd you do it?" She asked

Her voice had an echo effect that made her sound even more like the goddess she always was.

"Do what?"

You snuggled closer to her, burying your face in her long hair. She smelled like... like... what did she smell like? It wasn't like any flower you've ever smelled and it definitely wasn't pleasant, but you would learn to deal with it because it was your mother and everything about her was wonderful.

"Why'd you leave me that day?"

You look at her, confused. What day? You sit up, looking your mom in the eye. Her eyes were gray...

"What?"

Thunder.

Suddenly, you both were standing up. You were a good two yard away from her. The sky turned as gray as her eyes, the breeze was a harsh wind, and some of the pastel flowers began to droop down.

"Why'd you leave me?!" Your mother screeched.

It hurt you ears...

It hurt everything. Your mother was gray, all the pastel colors died... along with your mother. Lightning struck the ground. and all the flowers wilted. Your mother got thinner and thinner and her hair became dry and all you could see was her... lying in her bed... covered in her own waste.

"It wasn't my fault.... right?" You asked. "Mother, it wasn't my fault right!?"

And what was left of her grimaced at the sight if your face... your beautiful face that matched the face of the man she yearned for, but hated with all her heart.

Nothing was said and she died.

She. Is. Dead.

And she always will be and no matter whose fault it was, she wouldn't rise from the dead just so her freak of a daughter can fill her empty heart. You knew she wouldn't come back for you... she wouldn't come back for someone who only caused issues. She wouldn't come back for someone who was incapable of loving her. She would only come back for love... a feeling you didn't completely understand. She would come back for love and the only one that could make her feel special, the only one that could make her feel beautiful was

Thomas.

She would come back for Thomas...

Your eyes slowly open. Surprisingly, you didn't cry in your sleep... or maybe you did and the tears dried before you could feel for them. You were still tired, but you refused to go back to sleep. That was a nightmare. Never in you life have you ever experienced something that mad you feel so... fearful. You weren't ready for her to ask you those questions and to add to it, you were a child and your brain had forced you to think like the child version of yourself, which made the dream even scarier. It was strange and interesting. You would have to do research on dreams later.

You eyes had to adjust to the darkness. There wasn't any light streaming into the room. Matter of fact, there isn't any light at all because it was night time. The only light you could actually see was the moon light, which was dim and very unhelpful. The moonlight was coming from a window and you noticed that, wherever you are, there were no street lights outside the window, which is really weird.

You tried to get off the bed, only feel more bed. Your bed wasn't this big, nor did you have velvet covers. After a while of searching, your found the end of the plush, velvet sea. You were barefoot and the floor was cold. Actually, the whole room was cold. You were shivering. You thought that your funeral clothes would be enough to keep you warm.

A black dress, thick black tights, a thin black jacket, and some shiny Mary Janes, should have been enough to keep you from shivering, but then you remember that they were wet from rain. Also... you didn't have them on, you had on thin material (it feels like some sort of gown) and no bra, which just made you feel colder.

You wander around the dark room. You could see the outlines of things, but you couldn't actually see a door. If you find the door, you would also be able to find a light switch, but before you could start looking, someone grabs you. With your back pushed against their chest, they embraced you, engulfing you in the most pleasant scent you could think of right beside your mother's usual flowery smell.

They smelled like a mixture of coffee and books... just like your dear friend.

"You're awake." Cain says, his chest rumbling. He sounded relieved.

You hum, relaxing in his hold.

"Are you hungry? Do you need anything?" He says softly.

"No, thank you." You murmur.

Cain leads you back to the large bed and places you down on it, placing himself right beside you. You didn't mind. Joel slept in the same bed as you when you two had sleepovers so you thought nothing of it, but you should have.

You should have done a lot of things.

Cain snuggles closer to you. He wasn't warm, he was almost room temperature, which was worrying. You would gladly share some body heat with him if it meant he wouldn't get sick, because you were sure that he was going to of you didn't warm him up soon. You scoot closer to his chest, placing one of your arms over him.

"What are you doing?" He asks, shocked.

"You feel a bit cold." You say. "I'll warm you up."

Now... you didn't know how suggestive you were being. You had no bra on and no pants, you probably had on a thin night gown, and you just said that you were going to warm Cain up. Most people would have thought that you two were about to get at it like a newlywed couple on their honeymoon, but you lacked the feelings necessary to make that possible.

Or maybe you did have them, but since your mother never let you read erotic books, you never did learn about those desires and the other purposes of sex besides creating offspring.

Cain could feel his face heat up. He was probably most people.
