《Scarlet Taste (Vampire! Yandere x Emotionless! Reader)》3. Issues

It was finally night time. You slide on some shoes and put on one of the jackets you mother had purchased for you, walking out of your bedroom and down the closest set of stairs. The day felt much shorter that it actually was, but that didn't bother you in the slightest. The daytime used to be important to you, but without your mother... they seemed bland. Now, your greatest moments only occurred at night.
Several hours before, you woke up to the sound of your brother and your father arguing.
"Why does it matter! It's not like my grades will make a difference!" You hear your brother yell. "I'm rich! I don't even need a job!"
"Correction. I'm rich... because I earned it. You did nothing. Thinking like the will not get you anywhere..." Your father grumbles. "Your grandfather would be very disappointed if he heard this..."
"What's he going to do...fire me? He's your boss." Your brother scoffs. "Not mine."
"He's lived well over his time, but he isn't senile. He's not an idiot. He knows that you're my heir, but currently, you are unsuitable."
"What are you trying to say you old bastard!?"
"I'm saying, that I might have to pass on this business as well as my fortune to your mother's daughter. Your grandfather seems to like her a little more than he likes you..."
You stand up, stretching your legs. You walk towards the door, entering the hallway.
"Her?! She's not even yours! Doesn't she embarrass you?! She's walking around like she's all high and mighty.... acting like she's too good to react to things like a normal person! She's a freak!"
"Cayden." Your father says firmly. "Just pull up your grades..."
The sound of your father's footsteps was all that could be heard. Your father walks up the stairs. He stops once he notices you at the farthest end of the hallway. He looks at you with an concerned expression, his eyebrows furrowed, and then he turns away and walks towards his study.
He didn't even call you his daughter...
Things like that seem to happen more often lately, not just today. Your father and your brother often get into it like that and you began to realize that you just didn't like being at home if your mom wasn't involved. You open the front door, looking out at your dark front yard.

"Where are you going?" You older brother scoffs.
"The park." You say casually.
"Why? Are you already whoring yourself out? I heard people have tons of sex at the park, but I bet you already knew that..." You brother snarls. "You little slut."
"I haven't even hit puberty yet. Do you really think I would do something like that... or are you attempting to hurt my feelings again?" You say.
Cayden grabs your arm, lifting it up and forcing you to stand up on the tips of your toes. The only thing that actually concerned you was that he was stretching the jacket you mother had bought you. It wasn't the only one she got for you though so it was more like a mild inconvenience rather that anything to actually be concerned about.
"When are you going to admit that this is all an act, that you are just a little edge lord trying to act cool? Just because you supposedly 'don't have any emotions', doesn't make you some big shot. Your little act isn't cute so do everyone a favor and go away." He growls.
"Why... so you can have keep all of father's money for yourself? How pathetic..." You remove your jacket, falling out of his grasp. "I don't think anyone will be able to take your seriously with your voice cracking so much.... also... your fly is down." You turn around and quickly walk out the door, leaving him inside. You didn't bother looking back.... his face reminded you of trash and you didn't wish to think about it.
Once you got far enough away from your house, you slowed down. It was about fifteen minutes to get to the park at this pace. You walked by the houses of your neighbors and several small shops. The community was actually really cluttered. Your town was small and about an hour away from your town was a city. Of course... that's only by car... it would take way longer than that to make it to the big city on foot. You remember hearing your father say that he was going to walk to work one day. Your mother was extremely tired that day so she believed it, but you knew better.
He's a liar.... and a cheat.
"(Y/n)?" You hear an unfamiliar voice.
There was a man locking the front door of a shop. The sign above the door read Barstool's Brew. It was clearly a bar.

"Are you always out this late?" The man asks.
"This is actually considered early for me." You say. "Why are you closing a bar at this time?"
"It's not the weekend yet hun. People 'round her don't really drink during the work week." He chuckles.
"Oh..." You say, looking down at your shoes,
"You don't know who I am.... do you?" The man sighs, frowning.
You shake your head.
"I'm Thomas Wilson," he chirps, pointing to himself. "Local bar owner."
Just then, you notice how similar you two look. He had (e/c) eyes and slick (h/c) hair, his skin was the same tone as yours and his eyes.... he had a look in his eye that one might call dead... empty. Despite that emptiness that he had hidden in his bright (e/c) eyes, he still looked happy and had a beaming smile. It was odd how someone could fake such genuine feelings and still have them look.... well... genuine.
"You are my biological father." You say, studying his face.
"That's right little lady." He places his hand on your head, ruffling your soft hair. "I knew I would produce gorgeous children."
"Alright..."
"Why don't we walk and chat (y/n)?" He says. He wasn't giving you an opinion... you could tell. It was a command.
You and your real father walk alongside each other. You were nowhere near the park at this time. He took you in the wrong direction.
"You enjoying school?" He asks.
"There's not really anything to enjoy about it."
"Oh really?"
"I'm homeschooled. Everything that my teacher taught me was stuff I already learned, the only thing I'm confused about now is how the human mind works." You murmur.
"Hmm....You must be really smart."
"I guess...."
You both talk about other things like your friends and interest. Of course, he did most of the talking. Thomas walks ahead of you, stoping you in your tracks.
"Ya know, you can live with me if you want. How does that sound?" He says, smiling. "Everyone in town knows that your old man don't treat you well. I really think I could be a good father."
If you agreed live with him, you would have to leave your mother. That was the one thing that you could never... ever... do. You need her. Just being around her makes you feel warm... not as warm as it used to be before, but that's okay. Just being around her was enough.
"That sounds... undesirable." You deadpan.
You both stand their in complete silence. You were in one of that farthest corners of town. The only things around these parts were trees, a twenty-four hour liquor store, and an old VHS store. The street was mostly empty with the exception of one single red car with tons of foul smelling smoke coming out of the slightly open passenger window. You shake your head. It was probably a bunch of teens hotboxing.
To most, this would have been a scary situation, but to you... it nothing more than being a little off track. You could make it to the park in less than thirty minutes from here.
Thomas places his hands on your shoulders, a strange glint in his eyes.
"You are such a good child (y/n)." He says, his innocent smile disappearing. "You remind me of myself when I was younger."
"Oh... okay...."
"Don't you want to experience happiness? Aren't you curious? I can teach you about it. All of them.... happiness, sadness.... I can even teach you about love. Don't you want to feel?"
You blink, your eyes shining with curiosity for just a second.
"Not necessarily.... what's the point?" You ask. "What will that bring me?"
He let's go of your shoulders, his smile returning soon after.
"Sorry about that (y/n). Let's continue our walk."
"I rather not."
"Oh... um... okay... do you want me to walk you home?" Thomas asks, scratching the back of his neck.
You shake your head, turning around and walking away.
"You've already made me late." You grumble.
You were sure that Cain was already upset with you. The last time you were late, you were late by only ten minutes. Cain told you that he worried for your safety and that he was ready to search the whole town for you... even though you were only gone... for ten minutes.
The moon was at its highest point at the moment. It was usually around this time that you would just be arriving at the park, but it will probably take a little over twenty-five minutes to get there.
You hoped that Cain wouldn't burn down the whole town looking for you.
