《Whirl》chapter 13

"I got you something," August told Josie when he picked her up after she closed shop for the day.
Josie gave him an adorable shy smile, and he took her hand, gently placing the small wrapped box in her palm.
"What's this?" she asked curiously.
"Just open it," he said.
Josie pulled the ribbon, allowing it to unravel and fall in her lap. The box was small and black, but too big to be a ring box.
She opened the lid to reveal a set of keys. She glanced up at August curiously.
"One for my house in the city and one for my house here. They're yours now. You can come and go as you please. That way if you miss me and can't keep up with my stupid schedule, you can just go to whatever house I'll be at."
Josie was a little stunned at the amount of trust August had just given her. She leaned up to kiss his cheek, "Thank you."
"Because you are off Friday and Saturday, I was thinking you could stay over at my house in the city. You haven't been there yet."
"I'd love to. I could even drive up Thursday after work," Josie said, taking the keys and adding them to her own small set.
August couldn't contain the joy that built up inside of him. "I like the way you think," he grinned, grabbing her hand and lacing their fingers.
They went to Josie's home for dinner. She made them roasted chicken and rice and they sat at her table together.
"When do you need to respond to that job by?" August asked curiously.
"It's almost been a week since I received it, so any day now," Josie said quietly.
"Have you given it any more thought?"

She had given it a lot of thought actually. She would love to move, discover new places and people, but she was beginning to see August as her home. It was too fast for sure. Even still, she had decided to stick with him for as long as he'd have her.
"I don't think I am going to take it," she admitted.
"We could at least fly down there and take a look at the area," August said.
Josie paused mid-chew, meeting his blue eyes.
"I don't want you to give up something you want because of me," he continued.
"Your friends and company are here, August. I've not given anything up since I have met you, I've only gained. I like this town and I like you," Josie blushed, pushing her food with her fork to avoid seeing his reaction.
August was pleased that she thought so positively about him, especially after the situation he had created after their trip. He had to be the luckiest man in the world to have a girl so amazing.
He couldn't resist leaning over the table to lift her chin. Her beautiful brown eyes and rosy cheeks only accentuated her natural beauty. He pressed his lips to hers.
"If you truly don't want to move, let's plan our next trip. No work on this one, just me and you and your dream destination."
"But-" she protested, but August silenced her with another kiss.
"No buts. I'll take you wherever your heart desires, baby."
"August," she whispered, but he interrupted her.
"That's twice you've said my name this conversation."
She giggled at his seriousness, "What am I supposed to call you then?"
He shrugged, his lips twitching with a small smile, "You use it like I'm in trouble."

"You use mine like that," Josie protested, unable to contain another laugh. She stood up to gather their dishes, knowing if she didn't, they could sit all night talking. Conversation with August was so easy.
As soon as the dishes were in the sink, she was spun around into August's arms. He walked her back into a wall. At this point, her cheeks were going to be permanently stained. She had never been so turned on by a man before. She was certain she couldn't breathe, not with the way he was looking down at her.
"I'm sure I can think of other ways to use your name, Josie," August whispered lowly, seductively. His tongue darted out to wet his lips. His lips were quirked in his signature sinister smile.
Josie could feel everything, a burning desire building inside of her as he pressed against her.
He tilted his head to brush his lips with hers, just a soft brush. He was teasing her.
"August," she said without thinking. Her voice was a breathy whisper. She didn't recognize it. Who had this man turned her into?
August chuckled darkly, "I like that tone much better."
He kissed her hard, his hands going from her face to the wall behind her, caging her in. Her hands wrapped around his waist, trying to pull him impossibly closer.
He pulled away for air, stepping back slightly to release Josie, something that was very hard to do when she stood there flushed and thoroughly kissed. He wanted to carry her to the bedroom and continue, but he didn't want to overwhelm or scare her in anyway.
Josie breathed deeply, willing her body to cool down. She had never been kissed like that and she was hot all over.
"Are you okay? Was it too much?" August asked sincerely when she didn't move from the wall.
"No, I'm okay," she murmured, still a little breathless.
August liked that he could make her feel the way she made him feel. Nothing in his life had ever felt so right. No one had ever made him feel so cared for and special.
"Alright, sweetheart. Let me help you clean up here before I have to go."
