《CALLA》33: If It's You

I was waiting for the valet to bring my car around when I heard someone call my name. I looked over my shoulder and frown when I saw Vic and Eli rushing over to me. I wasn't surprise to see Vic but Eli appearance had me baffled. I turned and wished the valet would hurry up with my car.

"Calla, you barely ate, come back inside and_"

"I lost my appetite" I didn't look at the two men now on either side of me.

"Calla_"

"I'm going home" I cut him off sharply.

"Is it such a big issue to indulge your father and call that man?"

I turned and glared up at Eli Frye. His words had pushed me over the edge.

"Is it difficult for any of you to understand that Alex is in Hong Kong working?" I didn't care to control my temper anymore. "Would you like it if someone calls you while you're working and asked that you return from across the country?"

When he just looks at me with his usual calm expression, I felt stupid for blowing up at him. Why is it that Eli Frye always sees the worst in me? No wonder the man ignores me as if I didn't exist. Turning back to the streets, I wondered impatiently where in the world is my car.

"If it's you who asked, I would return"

Startled, I turned back to him, wondering if I heard him right.

"What?"

He didn't repeat his words. Instead, he just stared down into my eyes.

"Calla" Vic suddenly took hold of my arm which snapped me out of my trance.

Turning, I was confused at Vic glaring eyes – not at me but at Eli Frye.

"You shouldn't skip meals. Why don't I take you somewhere else for lunch?" Vic eyes softens as he looked down into my face.

"No" Eli Frye suddenly grabbed hold of my other arm.

What the heck was going on with these two?

I figured for some time now that Vic developed interest in me but is holding back because of our age differences. Plus, I'm the granddaughter of his boss. I wasn't stupid so I get Vic's action. But why in the world is Eli Frye behaving so possessively. How can that be when he has Rose?

Thankfully, the valet pull up for my escape. I pulled away from the two men and rushed to my car. I wasn't in the mood to sort out the situation between Vic and Eli. I just needed to escape. I wanted to go home and eat potatoes chips while watching a movie. That had been my original plan for the afternoon before I was called out for this depressing lunch.

I made mental note not to have lunch or dinner with that old man for a long while.
