The Dean's Office, Battlemage Academy: Vaillance, Royal Capital Adarester
"Fyrce?"
with a stern look on his face, Major Blake Riverstar, The Dean addressed his Messenger
"Yes, This letter was marked as a personal message to you sir, And its by a Nordrick Fyrce"
"I can more or less guess what this will be about. You're Excused."
"Yes Sir" The messenger clicked his heels as he faced about and marched out of the office. Dealing with this hectic side of Dean Riverstar is fatigue inducing, Yet the Messenger remained steadfast about his business.
Dean Riverstar carefully undid the letter's wax seal and began reading what he thought would be Nord Fyrce cashing in his favours, and right he was.
"an Exemption request?" Riverstar said to no one, He laughed to himself briefly
"He wants me to Enroll his young lad without any prior assessments or Exams? Ah, He hasn't changed, that man. And here I was thinking I'd never hear from him again. 20 years is a long time..."
After giving a moment's thought about the Letter's contents, The Dean Called for the Messenger.
"Get me Officer Numeral"
~~~
A sudden summons into the Dean's office was the last thing Instructor Numeral could think of, But without wasting time in his Epiphany, He obliged the summons
"Warrant officer Victus" Dean Riverstar addressed the Fresh faced instructor as he entered the office
"Yes sir" Victus stood at attention
"the 55th year class will be receiving a special transfer student soon, I have already arranged all credentials and have sent out notice for his Board"
This late into the Curriculum sir?"
Numeral was dubious
"Yes Victus, He is one of Five students I plan on assigning to you. Since you are here to complete your Captaincy requirements, I thought a Trial was necessary."
"Yes sir" Answered Victus
"Good, Our new Transferee is named Drake Fyrce. Along with him you are to take in These four. Take good care of them." Riverstar Asserverated as he slid a sheet of vellum across his desk
"will do sir"
"Any further questions?"
"None sir"
"Good, Dismissed."
Instructor Numeral clicked his heels and walked out of the office. He had just begun his days as an Instructor after Graduating two years prior. Now he was handed the responsibility of Squad Leader and Watching over 5 Up and coming Mage cadets.
Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.
Windwalker
Having subdued its surrounding enemies, the former Sulic Empire is faced with unrest brewing from within. Society is torn in two. The reigning mentalists constantly persecute the subjugated elementals under the pretence of curbing the explosive potential of their destructive powers. Meanwhile, schemes and political interests clash as different groups within the Governance military elite vie for control. And in the shadows, Sulic’s old enemies have been lying in wait a long time, looking for the first sign of weakness to make their move. Against this backdrop, two ordinary individuals fight to maintain stability from opposing sides: a low ranking telepathic recruit with nothing to his name but good intentions, and an unregistered elemental contractor with a murky past. Can they reconcile their differences and help steer Sulic away from tearing itself apart? Windwalker explores themes of societal struggle and self-discovery. Book One: Rising Wind Kal has trained to be a soldier his entire life. His days are simple, and his duties clear: enforce the rules, upkeep the peace, and most important — police the elementals. If they step out of line, the Governance system corrects it. But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. This choice lands him in more trouble than he bargained for, and he soon discovers that the veneer the Governance is built upon an ugly and crumbling foundation.
