《Infinite Gameplay》Revenge II

Kite prepared himself. Now that he knew the person who killed him he must properly 'thank' him.
He then proceeded to a simple plan. He left his room and went outside the guild. He hailed a carriage and went to the outer area gate. He paid the driver and begun dashing towards Millow Forest.
Fresh winds brushed his body. Since he leveled up his speed got much faster. Although not comparable to Nessa and HiddenBlade. He acted like nothing was wrong and entered the forest.
When he entered the forest, two guys who were silently hiding in the bush followed him.
"Hey mate, he really is the one who slept with Nessa?", HiddenBlade clad completely in black coldly spoke.
"He sure is. Even though he hid his face with a wolf mask, his frame will stay the same", Pigeon who was beside HiddenBlade coldly replied.
"I also memorized his scent using my summoned rat that day", he added. His body movements and his tone showed fear and respect to HiddeBlade.
Their conversation was still the same.
Because Kite was dashing at great speed you wouldn't notice his eyes moving in different directions. He wanted to see clues where they were hiding.
When he didn't notice something wrong he still persisted going to the wolf's den like usual. He didn't act suspiciously and looked very normal. He reached the den and hunted the way he used to.
After some time...
He was now confronting all the 11 wolves like in the past, he still acted normal. His back was still exposed for the assassin to kill. Now that he was more prepared and warier his body didn't react like what happened back then. He didn't feel excited and no changes in his body appeared. Only coldness and ruthlessness was in his eyes.

Just as he was supposed to kill the ninth wolf, HiddenBlade began his ambush. He was in stealth for a long time now and finally, a chance appeared.
Kite felt the coldness in his back. He didn't turn around immediately. Just as HiddenBlade's dagger reached Kite's neck, Kite began his counter attack. He suddenly turned around and saw a floating blade reaching for his neck. He stepped backwards quickly and raise his sword up in the air. It started gathering baneful qi and his sword look horrifying.
First Noxious Sword!
He slashed downwards with all his strength. It only took a second for all this to happen.
Because of HiddenBlade's surprise, he couldn't react faster. He was struck by the sword in his head and felt his vision blurring.

He leveled up six times.
The skill, First Noxious Sword's 10x damage, 100% crit chance, and the 90% reduced armor dealt a lot of damage. HiddenBlade was an assassin, they don't where any armors at all. His HP was all-time low and so was his defense. This all led to his death.
HiddenBlade's head exploded in pieces. Kite looked at it with coldness. After a minute looking at his corpse, Kite's coldness was replaced by a shocked look. He immediately puked and felt terrified. He just killed a living human.
He dug a hole near the bushes and drag HiddenBlade's corpse. He threw it there and whispered, "This is revenge for killing me".
Kite looked around to see if someone was here. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw no one. If someone did he may be killed by someone who knows HiddenBlade.

Alas, he was wrong. Pigeon who was hiding from afar saw all of this happening. He summoned a bird monster to look around if there were adventurers who were here. He was also observing the fight. When he saw his friend dying in the hands of Kite, he raged. He got even angrier when Kite dragged his corpse and simply threw it in the pit. He wanted to rush at once when he sorted out his feelings.
Kite was clearly a Level 5 Swordsman. There were only 2 possibilities. It's either he used a skill to hide his real level or he has godly equipment. He didn't take the possibility that Kite used a skill or a technique. His summoned monster was in the air. He couldn't sense the baneful aura Kite unleashed. What he saw was only Kite raising his sword and slashing it downward. Nothing else. So he didn't think that possibility.
After thinking it for a while greed covered his face. If he could somehow get that godly equipment he could instantly turn into a noble. Women and money will automatically him. Even though it may be a skill to conceal his level and no equipment or item was involved, the prospect of gaining a godly item that will make him rich still overshadowed the risk involved.
He planned to bait some of his friends to get that item. He will do anything in this world just to get rich.
Kite left after doing the deed. He went to the city and hailed a carriage. He arrived in front of the guild and entered it. He approached Anna and hand out the corpse of the wolves he hunted. He of course sliced them up and put it in his new shoulder nag.
"Anna, I'm already done"
Anna was shocked. He finished the quest in only hours. He was only a low leveled kid when he first joined the guild. To think that he grows this fast.

Kite looked at it and felt satisfied. Now that is was nearing evening he decided to get some foods and head to his room in the guild.

Transcendence?
Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur) ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— Transcendence? is a novel about reincarnation, love, hate and war. And everything else that's included. It follows the main characters, as they climb to the top of their society. And lose their humanity in the process to become something beyond human. It's settled in the same universe as Until death?. It can be seen as a prequel. But I plan for it to be a stand alone book. Nobody has to read Until death? in order to enjoy Transcendence?. There will be cool chapters, sad chapters, romantic chapters and funny chapters. Of course there will be boring chapters too. I believe that some explanation is necessary in every novel. Though I hope that there will be more funny chapters. How a chapter turns out always depends on my mood.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Junkyard Scavenger
Junkyard does not discriminate. This place where rejects gather is impartial to your past. Almost completely cut off from the Overworld, its limited resources put the residents at odds, as they struggle for each scrap they can get their hands on. You can decide to live in peace, but poverty, or try for a chance to leave. If you choose to leave, then be prepared to steal, plunder, fight, cripple, and kill if necessary. Gather items and become stronger. Crush your opponents as you take theirs for your own, and roll the weighted dice. Marco has watched for years how humans treat their lives like gambling chips. He saw delusion, confused with hope, and warnings falling on deaf ears. A million believing they are the one. Because don't you just need a few rare items to be unstoppable? Some EXP to dominate? Just a little luck? Surely, if you keep trying, fate will work out in your favor, no? Marco knows better than that. He's learned that patience is a virtue. He hopes others will listen; that they would learn. In time, things could be better. He plans to see to that himself. But when he meets Jeanne, their values clash. They both desire the same, yet their means differ. One would risk it all on a hunch, the other waits until the perfect moment. Does either understand the consequences of their methods? How does patience fare when time is not your ally? Do not hesitate. Doubt will drag you down. Beware of friend and foe. Because Junkyard does not forgive mistakes. A grimdark LitRPG story that's not just LitRPG, and not just grimdark. Updates about twice a week. Please feel free to leave some feedback. I'll appreciate it very much!

- - - Please note that this story profile only holds previous drafts for GGE and ONLY that. This means that this profile is just chapters that were being removed from GGE, but I wanted to keep them public to readers. - - - First written Jan 2017 on NU, when I was just getting into JPNs and figured I could write better than them. This is just getting ported over to archive, and so people can see where it's come up from. Please note that its not getting edited nor is these verisons are not being continued.

Strangler
A jackass, a Muscle Wizard, and a woman who just wants to fish. In a Sword & Sorcery type of world, can the jackass be the hero he always wanted to be? Or will his mere presence ruin the lives around him. Main Character's Debt tracker added. What to expect: A slow paced story focused on the characters rather than the fate of the world. Weak Lead, his progression would be slow. Pathetic and dependent, I hate him. :) Upload Times: Tuesday/Friday 7:00Am CST (Would switch to MWF when I have more free time)
