Chapter 16
------------------------------------------
Adrian was pulled away from the prosperous market section of the village & towards it's other end.
Along the way, the buildings became more average looking & the streets were deserted.
Another detail he noted was that every person who noticed the little girl made bad faces, before spitting in disgust.
Their fists were trembling, as if they were holding themselves back. Of course, they were all ugly without exception though.
Adrian didn't mind it that much. His mind was too occupied with how to trick the girl's elders than anything else.
Soon the duo reached a house at the absolute frontier of the village. It was so far away from the main village that Adrian wondered if this area even belonged to the village or in the woods instead.
The little girl pushed open the main door, which creaked a bit too much.
Adrian rubbed his hands together and prepared himself for a marathon that night.
His dick was so damn erect, that it looked like it might fall off his body and launch into the outer space instead.
Adrian hid his erection & entered the house, while hiding his perverted smile.
---------------------------------------------
Inside the house, there was just a hall, a kitchen & a bathroom. There was not much decorative stuff and the small house looked even empty inside.
Adrian entered the hall, where he found the little girl squatting beside a boy laid on a straw mat bed as she talked to him happily.
Adrian became puzzled as he looked around. He couldn't find anyone else in this house.
He decided to enquire about it with the boy and sat beside the girl.
The boy's skin was deathly pale & he coughed continuously as he tried to listen to the girl.
Although the boy was in a very bad state, his handsome features couldn't be hidden.

Adrian could tell that the boy was unable to speak and was on his last breaths.
He turned to the girl instead & enquired,
[Um, little girl. Where are your elders? I don't see anyone here?]
The little girl stopped her chatting and paused while staring at her hands.
She then turned to Adrian and spoke with a sad smile,
[I... I killed them..]
Adrian became frightened immediately. He wondered how could a child so small murder her own parents and elders?
But, since the girl had admitted to it herself, Adrian knew there was something fishy in all this.
He stood up and tried to sneak out of the house without anyone noticing.
(...if there is no hot women here, then I won't waste my time. Who knows if the girl suddenly turned crazy and comes after me?...)
[OH HO. I see, I see. Don't worry! I-I will talk with my team & see if they can help you...]
The little girl looked at Adrian's retreating figure and quickly stood up and hugged Adrian's waist as she pleaded while sobbing heavily.
[Please..BIG BROTHER!! Save my brother..*sniff*.. I don't have anyone else... He will DIE!]
Adrian looked at the crying girl as he became troubled. He knew that he had trapped himself in this shit and had to resolve it somehow.
The boy lying down looked at Adrian with pleading eyes, as his breath had started turning fainter.
Rummaging his thoughts, Adrian remembered about the FULL HEAL he had obtained earlier.
In the Pokemon Red, FULL HEAL could treat all status ailments.
Although it was not as good as other healing items, but he also had to test it's effect before using it on himself or anyone else.
These items could only be used on the Pokemon themselves in the games, but he wanted to test if he could use it safely on himself or not.

(...the boy is dying anyways. Not like I would lose much. Instead, it could be valuable data instead, huhuhu...)
Adrian quickly made up his mind and told the girl,
[Hah.. Listen carefully. I can try healing your brother, but there is no guarantee that he would recover. You must not blame me if I am unable to help him. I also cannot bring dead back to life, so don't ask me for anything unreasonable, got it?]
The little girl nodded repeatedly and quickly ran towards her brother. She looked towards Adrian with eyes full of expectations.
Adrian sighed to himself & decided to get to work quickly. He took out the FULL HEAL he had picked up earlier.
The item was in the form of a spray bottle with a nozzle. POTION & ANTIDOTE were the same, but differed in their colors.
He sprayed 1/4th of the item on the face, hands and chest area of the boy & saved the rest for himself.
It was not a one use item & he could decide how much he wanted to use instead.
The boy's fainting breaths started to become more regular while he stopped coughing continuously.
The boy tried to sit, but due to severe exhaustion, he couldn't.
He turned to look towards Adrian and spoke,
[Thank you sir. I feel a lot better now. Thank you for saving me.]
The little girl was sitting as if her body had turned to one of a stone instead.
Adrian smiled to himself & rustled her hair while he spoke,
[Hey Hey. your brother is fine now. Don't you want to give him a huggy?]
The girl came out of her trance & quickly hugged her brother's chest while she cried heavily.
[WaHHhh!! Brother! Brother!! uwahh!]
The boy stroked the girl's back as he tried to console her.
---------------------------------------------
Adrian decided to bail out of the place, but then considered the boy's condition & took out some things out of his bag.
He approached the boy and handed him the items while explaining,
[Now, listen carefully. This here is a health recovery tonic made by a pharmacist. Take one spoon full 3 times a day. Also take these fruits. They are said to be nutritious. I only have a few hard breads left, so dip it in water and soften it before eating.]
After telling him all this, Adrian went towards the main door and turned back one last time.
[Take care of the little girl. Oh, by the way, what are your names?]
The boy smiled as he answered,
[My name is Leaf. My sister's name is Rose. Thank you for helping us.]
He tried bowed his head towards Adrian, but he couldn't, while hugging his sister.
Adrian then went out of the place & stretched his body as soon as he reached the road.
[Damn it! What a waste of time! If not for the drug testing, I would not have even bothered with them. The little girl was cute though. I wonder if she would become a beauty in the future...]
Adrian mumbled to himself as he walked away.

It was a war. It was silent, so silent that few people ever noticed that it was happening, and long. So long that those who knew forgot why it ever started. Grim Beginnings
For most, ghosts and monsters were fantasy. For Tessa Byrne-Reyes, they were a constant in her daily life as a reaper. The legendary gods and creatures of mythology were, to her, historical figures. From a young age, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, possessing what she saw as a curse but what her family considered a gift. It was her birthright, to use her abilities to guide the deceased to the afterlife of an eternity in peace or in torment. Her classmates viewed her as "the fainting girl" who would pass out in the middle of a lesson with inexplicable injuries. She experienced each death in the town of Belmont Falls, from the mundane to the gruesome. A gunshot wound in the gut, broken ribs, her heart ceasing to beat for several minutes. No one understood what caused these incidents but over the years, she gained a reputation for being abnormal. While Tessa is the freak of Belmont Falls, Fin Belmont, the charming rebel and son of the richest man in town, is her polar opposite. Knowing each other for years but never saying more than a dozen words between them, one night changes everything, thrusting them into each other's unfamiliar and daunting worlds. Together, with the help of her best friend/his ex-girlfriend Elena, they begin to unravel secrets about their town and their pasts, learning that some secrets are better left buried and grudges can be held for centuries.
