《Sunny Winchward Beach - A Grand Eye Tale》CHAPTER EIGHT - SANDS OF PRIDE

Archey asks for Marmaduke back.

Abaddon shakes his monstrous head and scoffs. 'That's not how this is going to work, Seven. You soiled the reputation of the great line. You drove it into the mud of Venus with your pettiness and your fragile ego. The Sheol is a husk of its former glory. A mere shadow of greatness. You did this, and yet you have the audacity to ask a favor of me? Pathetic.'

Archey believes Abaddon may have mistaken him for someone else.

Abaddon leans back in his throne, his inhuman eyes surveying Archey closely. 'Hm. It appears Archey Billiard has not yet worn off. Very well.' He leans forward once more and gives a thin smile. 'I shall stall for time. Take a seat, Archey.'

A stone chair rises from the sand beneath Archey's feet. He sits down obediently. The collar of his jumpsuit has grown painfully tight, and his horns continue to grow faster and faster.

'I suppose I shall introduce my companions. In the white mask is Aosoth, and in the red is Lilith. The Dullahan child is Asmodeus, and the oil-eyed man is Mammon. That dark figure in the back is a mercenary from a dark corner in space. I do not know his name. I believe you have also met Azazel, who wears a purple suit. He was expelled from our order for reasons I will not discuss. Together we are the Demon Liberation Front, united to end your shameful reign and free all dark denizens of the Sheol.'

Archey knows these people, but he cannot remember how.

'Incidentally,' continues Abaddon, 'it was Azazel who decided upon the name Archie. Unfortunately, he misspelled it when preparing the curse. I apologize on his behalf.'

The curse? Archey doesn't understand. This was the name he was born with, the name his parents gave him. Come to think of it, however, Archey cannot remember what his parents look like. He cannot remember his childhood at all. Both his arms are moving on their own now, attempting to winch a winch that isn't there. Archey probes through his memories. Everywhere he looks, there are gaping holes. How did he get his job at the amusement park? Was he born in Winchward Beach or did he move there? It's all a blur of winching and not much else. Blood trickles into his eyes as his horns spiral out of control. His hair has grown back, wild and black. His facial structure shifts and morphs. He groans in a voice that isn't his. Who is Archey Billiard?

Abaddon claps his clawed hands together and grins. 'Excellent, excellent! Are you there, Seven? Do you understand what's finally happening? Your reign is forfeit. Your desecration of Hell has reached its twilight. Soon every demon in the Solar System will know the name Archey Billiard!'

As his underwhelming personality fades away, Archey's final thought is nothing more than a desperate desire to winch. From behind his throne, Abaddon retrieves a magnificent, ornate longbow, covered in glowing red etchings. He stands up, dust cascading from his black fur, nocks an arrow, aims right between Archey's horns, and fires.

Satan woke up with a start.
