《Second Chances》2

~Valentina~
I'm confused about where I am and why I'm in pain until I hear voices in the distance. Not wanting to open my eyes yet, I just listen.
"All I want to know is why there's a random beat up girl in my old room and why you have a black eye!"
"I told you Alva, it's not your business!"
"You're my brother!! That makes it my business!"
"Enough Alvanis! Go sit in the living room with Max and I'll tell you what happened."
I slowly and cautiously open my eyes one at a time. I sit up against the headboard and get startled as I see Ronnie watching me from a chair. I put my hands up in defense as Ronnie gets up. He doesn't say anything, just hands me a glass of water. I drink it fast as he sits back down, watching me the entire time.
"Didn't know you'd be that thirsty."
"Didn't know you'd be such a creep."
Damn it Emerson! I got to stop giving Ronnie attitude. I'm gonna die if I don't go home soon.
"Didn't know you wanted black eyes to match your throat. Must be all those brain cells you lost earlier."
"Um no thanks."
I carefully stand and notice that I'm no longer wearing my own clothes but an over sized graphic t shirt that goes down to my thighs. I look at Ronnie suspiciously.
~Ronnie~
She's finally noticed she magically changed. I smile and take in the view. If she wasn't such a cunt, sh'd be the type of girl I'd sleep with.
"Mikey changed you out of your clothes. I wasn't allowed to touch."
"How thoughtful of Michael. I'm just going to go thank him right now."
She heads for downstairs. I'm sure if she wasn't in pain, she'd run. I sigh and follow after her. I'm not a scary guy. Yeah I choked her, but leaving like that in the middle of our conversation was mean. I beat her downstairs and call for Michael. He comes from the living room with Max Green, my old band mate, and Alvanis Grace, Max's girlfriend behind him. Michael sighs in relief seeing that the bitch is awake. Just as he's about to say something, Alvanis storms over.
"Ronald Joseph Radke! You have a lot of nerve punching Michael!"
I just shrug it off as she turns her attention to the bruised girl.
"And you! You have a lot of nerve getting my big brother punched! You're lucky I don't kill you myself!"
As the bitch starts backing away from Alvanis, Michael intervenes.
"Alright Alva, that's enough. You and Green need to go upstairs. It's getting late. And if I find out he didn't sleep on the floor, I'll kill him!"

"Fine! But we're taking my old room!!"
With that, Max and Alvanis disappear up the stairs.
~Michael~
After I finally get my little sister and Max to go upstairs, I focus back on Valentina and Ronnie.
"Sorry about that. My little sister is really protective."
"I didn't know you had a little sister."
"Yeah well I do. So are you okay? You look really pale."
She sits on the steps like her legs suddenly stopped working.
"I don't know. I think I need to lay down."
Ronnie walks ahead of us as I help Valentina upstairs. I open a door on my left.
"Whoa Mikey! What're you doing, that's my room!"
"Exactly Ronnie. She's yours to look after until she feels good enough to leave."
"I don't wanna look after this bitch. Mikey, you can't do this to me."
"Ronnie, if I recall correctly, you did this to yourself. Plus, I need to keep an eye on Max."
I sit Valentina on Ronnie's bed and turn to leave.
"If you need me, my room is down the hall Valentina."
~Ronnie~
I close my door and look at the girl laying on my bed. She hasn't spoke in a while and she's super pale. I scratch the back of my head and sit on the edge of the bed.
"Do you need anything?"
"Since when are you nice."
"I can continue to be an asshole but it might be uncomfortable for you since you're going to be sleeping in here with me."
"With you..?"
"I'm not giving up my bed for no bitch. I'm sleeping here too."
"My name isn't 'bitch', it's Valentina."
"Again, I don't care."
She sighs and turns over, revealing a tattoo on her side.
"You have tattoos?"
"A few, mistakes from youth/"
"Youth? What are you, like 18?"
"I'm 21 smart ass."
"Jesus Christ. I got into a fight with an infant."
"Fuck you Ronnie."
"Don't tempt me bitch."
When I notice her breathing even out I pull the blanket over her and lay down.
~Valentina~
I was nearly asleep when Ronnie pulled the covers over me and laid down. Michael expects me to be able to sleep next to someone who nearly killed me. I wonder where Michael put my phone and my clothes. I'll just leave in the morning, quietly. I doubt Ronnie's anything but cranky when people wake him up early. I gently poke Ronnie and whisper.
"Radke."
"Bitch."
"Bathroom?"
"It's right in front of you. Are you blind?"
"Thanks."
I mumble, rolling my eyes and walk towards Ronnie's bathroom. I turn on the light and begin taking a cool shower. Once I'm out I look at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes are swollen and bloodshot, under them are dark circles. I trail my fingers down to my neck. The bright purplish blue marks in the shape of hands are sensitive to the touch.

"Does it hurt really bad?"
I jump at Ronnie's voice close behind me.
~Ronnie~
She's so focused on her bruises, she didn't hear me come in. She doesn't turn around, just locks eyes with me in the mirror.
"Christ Ronnie. A little privacy."
"This is my bathroom. I heard the shower running, figured I'd give you clean clothes."
I hold out a pair of boxers and a t shirt.
"You just want me to turn around."
I laugh and lower my eyes down her body.
"You're nothing special. Trust me."
She rolls her eyes, turns around and grabs the clothes.
"Hey, whoa. Gently sweetheart."
She shoves past me and puts the clothes on. I see her grimace as the shirt passes over neck. I step towards her and she backs away.
"Ronnie?"
Eventually she's laying back on the bed with me on top of her. Fear and curiosity flash in her eyes.
"What the fuck Radke?"
"Be quiet Valentina."
I lower myself down to kiss her. I then move down to place gentle kisses on her bruised throat. Afterwords, I lay down on my side of the bed and turn off the light.
"That was the first time you've used my name."
"Go the fuck to sleep."
~Valentina~
Doors slamming and angry voices is what I wake to. I groan and try to turn over, except there are warm arms wrapped around my waist. I open my eyes to see Ronnie curled into me. I smile and pat his head.
"Ronald."
He shifts in protest until a scream makes us both jump up. We dart into the hall.
"Don't think I'm letting you get away with calling me that."
"Is that really important right now?"
We see Michael banging on the room door and Alvanis standing in nothing but a blanket, trying to calm him down. They both stop to look at us.
"Holy fuck. You look like shit."
I smile at Alvanis and Ronnie ignores her.
"Mikey, what's going on?"
Michael bangs on the door with his fists.
~Michael~
I'm going fucking mental. How dare he, in my house, with my little sister!
"Get your crazy ass friend, Ronnie!"
"Green, I'm going to fucking kill you! I walked in on him and my little sister!"
"Having sex?"
"No! In bed, together!"
Ronnie tries to hold back a smirk.
"We were just sleeping."
"You're naked Alva!"
She shrinks away to hold onto Ronnie's arm.
"Maybe the 3 of you should go out to breakfast together. Yes, she's your little sister but she's also an adult. Capable of making her own decisions and knowing what's best for her."
Everyone looks at her as Alvanis comes up to hug me.
"Michael, please. For me?"
"Alva."
She looks up at me and pouts.
"Please Michael. It would mean a lot to me."
I roll my eyes and give in to my adorable little sister.
"Ugh. Fine Alva. You're lucky I love you."
She smiles and hugs me tighter as I kiss the top of her head.
"Does that mean I'm safe?"
"Don't push your luck Green."
~Ronnie~
After Max, Alvanis and Mikey leave, Val and I are in my room.
"Ah I forgot to ask Michael about my phone!"
I smile and sit on the bed with a hand over my face.
"Michael doesn't have your phone."
She stops looking for clothes in my closet and turns to me.
"What do you mean?"
"Alvanis took it and gave it to me."
"What the fuck. I thought she hates you."
"We have our moments. Come here."
She holds her hands out to me and smiles innocently.
"Oh what, you want your phone? I recall you using my full first name earlier. Come here Valentina."
She puts her hand down and shakes her head, no, at me. I point at the ground in front of me.
"Come here Val."
She sticks her bottom lip out and sulks over. She stands silent as I pull the shirt over her head, being careful of her neck. I sit back and take in the view.
~Valentina~
I've never felt so naked and exposed in my entire life.
"Radke, you're making me anxious."
He just smiles and brings his lips to the base of my throat. I close my eyes at the feeling of this breath on my skin. He kisses down to in between my breasts and pauses.
"Val."
I look down at him curiously.
"Hmm?"
We lock eyes and I see something familiar, yet unrecognizable, in them.
"Nothing, nevermind."
I attempt to protest but he turns his attention back to my body and kisses down my abdomen. My fingers tangle themselves in this hair as he stops short of my hip bones. He moves back up and plants a steamy kiss on my lips.
"That's for calling me Ronald. Either you'll learn better or you'll be begging me to take you. I'm going to go work out."
My face flushes and without thinking I bite down on his shoulder. He pulls away shocked.
