Chapter 5 – What now?
David awoke to find his body had mostly healed, David quicky looked around the room and found the still lying demon on the ground. As he walked over to the demon, he picked up the double-edged longsword he had used earlier to kill the demon and walked closer to it, before stopping right beside it. Lifting the longsword into the air, before stabbing it in the chest, then again and again and again and again.
As he repeatedly stabbed the demon, tears welled up in his eyes. Until he broke down crying and collapsed to the ground, “WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?!” he screamed out.
I must be the unluckiest mother fucker in the world, or worlds? He chuckled at the absurdity of his situation and got up, picked up the longsword looked for anymore of the red potions, finding himself empty-handed and then left the room. David slowly made his way down the hall and found multiple different rooms. Some with numerous different symbols covering entire rooms and other rooms with books everywhere like a library that did not take care about its books as majority of the books scattered the floor. David walked over to one of the books on the ground and opened, Tch can’t read anything. He through the book on the ground and looked through each room, cannot read anything, I don’t understand the symbols, I have no idea where I am or where I should go from now on. When did I become so pessimistic? Well, if you can’t understand something you have to try and learn.
David got up and walked over to one of the numerous piles of books and looked through it, trying to learn any bit of information or clue on how to decipher the language. He thought back to each time the demon would speak and remembered something. The diary! David shot up and ran down the hall, but stopped and started walking when he realised, he should not use too much energy since an enemy could be lurking around every corner. Wait how did I survive so long? I have not eaten in who know how long, I guess it could be the potions. David thought but decided to not think of any of his thoughts as fact.

He walked down the hall carrying a book in one hand and his longsword, reaching the room he had killed the demon and searched its corpse and found the diary.
Looking through the book he went to the first few pages where the demon had started the journal and looked for the page he thought was when the experimenting started, once finding a page with a bit of red blood he assumed this was one of the first few days.
3 days later he had started to come to a slight connection between the speech between the demon and the writing, however this was considered almost useless by David since he still couldn’t understand anything it was trying to do or any idea what the different characters meant.
What are my options? David thought to himself, I’m soon going to *Grumble... That, so I need food and water. However, I don’t know what’s edible, David thought about the demon corpse for a split second but quickly shook his head, Nah I might die from some demonic poisoning or something. Not worth it. David thought but was not sure what to do, the only reason he was able to kill the demon was because it was because he caught it off guard and heavily injured it, I can’t go out and try and kills those hellhounds outside, I’ll probably die if I try and even if I win there are none of the red potions I could take. There are of course other potions, but most were used on him by the demon and none that he could think of had healing affects, However I still do not know all the affects of the potions since I didn’t starve all this time even without eating any food, David thought about it and considered trying to activate the symbols and hoping it send him home or somewhere more habitable but that was a little too optimistic. Plus who know maybe it will summon another one of those demon fuckers, David thought about it and decided to prepare some traps on a worst case scenario if he did activate the ritual and something unholy came out. Though his trap making expertise wasn’t the broadest and definitely needed more work, however they worked for the purpose and would at least slow a demon down.

He walked into the room filled with different symbols and characters covering the roof, floor and walls, David thought he had an idea on how to activate the symbols, he thought he just had to put a bit of his blood onto a specific part of one of the circles however he was completely off. David walked over and stepped onto the circle and suddenly all the different circles, characters and symbols lit up.
David suddenly felt an overpowering nauseous feeling come over him as he felt as if his internal organs all shifted and switched places. Then it suddenly stopped, he heard some yelling in the background and then promptly threw up and passed out in his own vomit.

NEWDIE STEADSLAW Part I
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a randomized array of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequitors ex machina, run-on sentences, and em dashes—so many em dashes. It's like if the Bible and Shakespeare had a baby that they surrendered to foster care, then it got adopted by Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss—the books, not the people—and then the baby fell down the stairs. In this metaphor, the stairs wrote the story. Part I is the tale of the adventures of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job inside the hollow Earth—a place made possible thanks to the secret science of embargoed relativity—and they get distracted by dancing foxes, a giant's record collection, and something with a train, I think. It's a work of fiction—although to call it work seems insulting to, y'know, actual work—but the fiction label is apt, so, y'know, that's a win. Half the words are made up, and the other half are embarrassed to be seen with them. Part I is complete.
