Chapter 3 – Unrelenting Torture
Click-Clack, Click-Clack. David’s face went pale as he heard footsteps slowly echo into his room, he had gotten his left leg’s strap slightly loosened. This might be my ticket for escape-... What do I do once I escape? I seem to be in another world of some sorts, assuming I am not going insane or hallucinating, plus outside there are some hellhounds that will tear me to pieces if I encounter them. David could not think about it anymore as the demon entered the room with a large grin, David shivered and looked down to what the demon had in its claws. David’s eyes landed on a sharp metal spike; David noticed it was carrying something else in its other hand. It had some a metal bucket which looked like it was starting to melt.
David starting to panic starts pretending he is still unconscious, the demon draws closer and looks at David with its glowing ember-like eyes, then begins to make a sound which David could only place as something close to snickering. David starts sweating as it walks closer, it puts the metal spike it was holding into the metal bucket he put on the floor and then waits. David tried to keep his eyes as close to being closed whilst still being able to see what was happening, however each moment he kept his eyes open a growing feeling of doom took over his body as he began to shake uncontrollably.
The demon removed the metal spike from the bucket, it glowed with a bright orange as if it had been in a blacksmith’s forge. Then it looked at David and began moving the metal spike towards his newly regrown leg and stabbed into it. He screamed as his flesh and bone was pierced and melted, *Ding, once again a ding had gone off in his mind.

This was the start of the torture the demon had subjected David to, changing from different vials of liquid to piercing his skin with different objects to breaking his bones with a hammer only to heal them and break them again. Throughout majority of the days all that could be heard was screams of agony, until a sudden halt in screams where David passed out and later continuing after he awoke.
David after what seemed like weeks of torture, was on the verge of break, *Weeping It hurts so much, please end this nightmare. David had considered biting off his own tongue in order to escape the agony however after a unknown amount of time David’s mouth had been gagged by the demon either to prevent this possibility or to stop him from screaming as much.
Then more time passed, weeks? Months? David was not sure however after all this time of torture he progressively became able to more easily handle the pain and after even more time he became more resistant to each form of torture he was subjected too. This seemed to make the demon ecstatic, as it increased the amount of torture to absurd amounts that realistically speaking should have killed David. However, after all this time I don’t think realism matters anymore, David thought as his torture session ended. The demon seemed to have a few patterns that David had noticed, for one he seemed to take breaks occasionally, meaning it doesn’t have a endless amount of stamina, two he noticed after each torture session the demon would write in a book. David theorized that it was writing the results of the “experiments”, after coming to this conclusion David was furious. It was experimenting on him and putting him through so much pain for months so that it could get some “results”.

David was pissed however he had to calm down, losing your cool isn’t going to help you, David for the past few weeks had been trying everything and everything to find possible ways of escape. When he concluded such, he was frustrated however it is still possible, I need to wait for the demon to put something down or come close to my left leg. Soon after his leg initially grew back the demon had strapped his new leg down to the bench however it did not notice that his left leg strap had loosened quite a lot. Soon, should not be too long now.

Delve
Truth hides behind action. Delve. A word with many meanings. It may refer to an abyss, a dark place of no return or may also be a refuge, a haven of retreat from the harshness of the outside. None of those are right to me. For me, to delve is to seek the truth. Delving into that dark abyss and coming back with answers. To leave that safe refuge and suffer the pain of the outside just because it is real. This is the story of me delving deep into the truths of the universe. Suffering things that should not be suffered in search of things that should not be known. Once a common man, drowned in the same questions that have plagued humanity since the beginning of times, now I have found my answers. Now I have meaning. Delve, and you shall have yours as well. Jack is a regular citizen of modern society: he works on an office, uses public transport every day, receives a meager salary, and drowns his frustrations with entertainment and alcohol. Maybe, the only thing that sets him apart from many others, is his unique outlook on life. Despite feeling an unfillable void in his soul and suffering from deep depression, he still sees as his duty to be a functional, exemplary member of society. All in order to prove his life-goal point: no matter how good you are, life is still shit. This point-of-view, however, will be challenged by circumstances as a mysterious encounter with a weirdly dressed man takes him to a strange and dark cave. In this place, he will have to fight for his life against fantastical creatures from fiction, and more importantly, get face to face with his own nature. In doing so, he will uncover secrets about the cave that will change both him and all he ever thought to be true.
