"how many gates does this thing have ?" jonas asks shoulders sagging "we've passed by four gates already" garcia hisses "why couldn't we have gone through any of those four?" levi turns to malka "the first gate was for merchants, the second gate was for slaves,the third gate was for citizens" malka says matter of factly "oh " jonas says "but if we go in through the last gates..." garcia curses and stops walking "if we went through the first four, we would have been arrested" malka says "we..." "huh?" "you said we? Are you not a citizen?" devon asks "i...i am " malka stutters "let her be " jonas says "there's the last gate " levi drawls and started to walk forward "levi!!!" garcia hisses and pulls his ears "Ouch" Jonas chuckles softly and malka giggles "sis have you ever heard of moderation" levi says rubbing his ears "were you just going to walk in??" garcia says with her hands on her hips "well, yeah" "are you joking with me?" garcia narrows her eyes "nope " levi says and takes a step back from his sister "uh, guys " "what?" "over there?" Everyone turns to look at what had alerted jonas,about twenty feet away,a horde of barbarians, about a hundred are running towards the walls "well, can i suggest something?" jonas asks "what?" devon turns to look at jonas "RUN!!!" Agility +1 They all turn and start to run to the gates Devon pants as he runs, the others are ahead of him and he can't seem to catch up, the guards on top of the wall seem to realize what is happening and start to lower the gates, there is a crowd of people clawing at each trying to get into dengard before the gates close, garcia and jonas are nowhere to be found, probably in that crowd, levi slides underneath the gates as they close, devon is still caught in the crowd he thinks as he turns and starts to push his way through the crowd, finally out he inhales fresh air panting and sweating, he readies his longsword and drops into a fighting stance few people follow his example, breaking away from the crowd to wait for the incoming horde... Its a bloodbath, people fall over and clubs pummel them but overall they seemed to be doing well, devon parries as a barbarian swings his club and slashes, rolling out of the way when the barbarian swings again, he stabs the barbarian Combat technique +1 Exp +600 picking a shield from the ground, He blocks a blow meant for his head and bashes the barbarian in the head, the barbarian sways and gives him an opening, he ducks as an arrow flies past him Combat technique +1 strength +1 You have gained the skill sixth sense lvl 1 Devon turns to identify the archer, he sees a barbarian reloading his bow, he dodges as another barbarian, one with a spear, strikes at him. He tries to dodge but is too slow and the spear stabs him in the leg, he grunts and decapitates the spearman Health - 6 Combat technique +1 Experience +115 Observation +1 An arrow hits him Health -5 He pulls the spear from his leg and throws it at the archer, the archer falls forward seemingly dead. A sword nicks him Combat technique +1 Health -1 he blocks with his shield and throws his longsword at the barbarian, distracting him, devon tackles the barbarian and the both of them roll on the floor punching, kicking, spiting, clawing at each other's eyes, rolling around , after a while devon rolls off the barbarians body and wipes some blood from his mouth Health -3 Experience +50 Strength +2 His eyes are heavy and he struggles to keep them open, there's blood on him, there's a head splitting headache and pain unlike any other and he hisses Endurance +1 A barbarian picks up a stone and raises it to finish devon "oi" Levi runs the barbarian through, wiping the dagger on the barbarians loin clothes, chuckling he looks down at devon , two barbarians attack him from both sides, he sidesteps the first attacker, punching him in the guts and parries the other attacker, he knees the first barbarian in the groin and slits the other's throat, grabbing a spear he blocks a blow from another barbarian and stabs his armpits, still chuckling he moves in to finish the last one who turns and starts to run, levi watches but decides not to give chase and turns to devon "huh?" That was the last thing devon heard
