"finally" he mutters and turns, he begins to retrace his steps and soon comes to a village, he then walks to a large market with shops lining the street, sellers calling out , he goes over to a stall
" uhm, anyone here" he receives no reply and seriously considers snagging a few things and taking off
"oh ,hi there"
He jumps back in surprise when someone appears from behind the counter, its a girl , about his age , with dark green eyes and hair as white as snow

"So what is it you want to buy"

"Everything and anything, from food to weapons to potions"
"I want to buy a cloak, a dagger , and a coin pouch"
"That would be 15 silver pieces"
"What!!!" he says outraged
"Oh come on, that's cheap compared to what they are selling it for" she says gesturing towards the other stalls
"I guess you're right" he grumbles
"But the thing is , i'm ten coins short " he says and lowers his head in embarrassment
"it's okay " she says and places the items he asked for on the counter
"wha ... But..."
"I'm not giving it to you for free, how about this, you'll owe me "

He takes the items from the counter and turns to go
"wait ... "
"huh "
"what's your name ?"

Devon then finds an alley and curling into a ball, he goes to sleep dreaming about the elf... At noon , His eyes flutter open to see soldiers flooding the alley , kicking and dragging out its inhabitants no doubt to the dungeon, he stands and lowering his hood runs the other way
" we've got a runner " a guard says and about 2 other guards break off from the main force and pursue him.
He runs quicker than he has ever run in his life yet the guards seem to be catching up with him

He slows to a walk and tries to blend into the crowd, looking back once every few minutes expecting to be tackled to the ground any moment, after a while he is sure that nobody is following him , he turns right , heading into another alley all the while cursing himself for being so careless
"psst kid, over here"
Devon turns around to identify the source of the voice, there's a guy standing in a dark corner of the alley beckoning to him
" yeah? "
"want to make some easy cash "
"no thanks"
Devon turns to go but bumps into a large selphid holding a club over his head...
"if you had just cooperated..." the guy in the shadow says and sighs
" fuck off " devon spits
The selphid grins and swings his club, devon jumps back and pulling out his dagger slashes and nicks the selphid
