《I'll become your Knight》Chapter 24

I summoned the gauntlet by resonating the feeling of when I had done it the first time, when I released magic I resonated with the feeling of when I received my limit break.
What if I resonate with something similar then in order to close this thing, picture a jar…my body is the jar and the magic needs to stop now. Close it!
I closed my eyes and visualized a jar in my head and pictured myself closing a real jar, then my body tingled.
The magic aura which was moving in rapid fashions circling my body had stopped and settled around me, and then it shrank and eventually dispersed into the air.
“I did it…I actually did it!!”, I yelled out as I swung my arms into the air.
“Fwish!”
An arrow pierced the air beside my head and sent me falling onto my back by the wind pressure alone.
“!!”
I stood up and looked at Miss Hayashi who had tears in her eyes and a bright smile on her face,
“Koboyashi nyou did it, I’m so proud of nyou.”
“Yeah and then you nearly took off my head!”, I yelled to her.
“I must have let go because of how relieved I am that nyou managed to control nyour magic. Hick”, she sniveled.
She rubbed her teary eyes with her arm and faced her head down to the ground as if she wanted no one to see her face.
“sniff sniff”
Anyways who wants to go nyext?”, she said in a cheery tone.
“Are you really going to just move on from all of that?!”
Miss Hayashi turned to me and continued to talk out loud to the whole class,
“That was a demonstration of the extent to which mana body can progress when untrained. This should be a good lesson to how dangerous magic can be when nyou have nyo training.”

“It did get pretty out of hand.”
“Will we really be alright, this seems dangerous and we aren’t even fighting anyone.”
Students began voicing their concerns one by one until they harmonized into a choir of doubt and worry.
“However when nyou learn the necessary control.”, Miss Hayashi paused on.
She looked to me with her serious expression and gestured her hand towards me as if showing off something.
“Koboyashi activate mana body.”
I took in a deep breath and remembered the feeling of magic flowing out exactly as I did before except this time it was easier and my body was relaxed.
My classmates around me showed visible concern in their faces and they couldn’t help but take steps back once more.
The only ones remaining forward were Shiho, Sora, Ayako and Kazemi. All of which were experienced in some regard to magic of the mana body skill itself; except for Kazemi who simply stayed from faith.
She held a stronger sense of faith towards me at that point due to seeing my abilities up close and how I overcame what seemed like an impossible feat.
“She’s making him do it again, what if he-”, a boy muttered.
The boy who spoke soon dropped his jaw when glaring at the bright spectacle of my golden aura.
“He got it…”, the boy said.
They all soon began to be more at ease and even more so impressed by the divine series magical glow.
Even though they had seen it already as an untamed force that threatened their safety, it was so eminent to them that they could not hold bring themselves to look away.
“He really got it down fast didn’t he?”, Kazemi commented in disbelief.
“Not only that but do you notice the size of it?”, Sora asked her.

She peered towards my body and noticed the distance from the surface of my skin and the outline of my aura.
“It’s only barely covering him…”, She mumbled.
Kazemi was stunned to see the golden glow around my body that I was unable to control at all was now barely manifested.
“I’m quite surprised you noticed my master’s excellence however I am not surprised he managed to preform it.
Most people would assume it’s weakness from him but it’s quite the opposite.”
Ayako noticed Shihos praises of me and leaned in to ask,
“What’s so special about the size of his aura?”, she asked innocently.
“When a knight releases magic it is from a relaxed state on the body in order for it to generate a flow outside of the body-”
“Kind of like how you relax your butt when you poop.”, Sora intervened.
A fist burst up from below him and crashed into his chin which sent him falling back, Kazemi had punched him with a full force jump-uppercut.
“Don’t interrupt with stupid things.
, she said calmly.
Shiho smirked slightly and then continued to explain,
“Relaxing in itself is a difficult task for some knights but especially for inexperienced ones. Meaning once they have reached that relaxed state the mana pours out instantly and in the time between that and it being limited there has to be downtime.”
“The smaller the aura the less downtime was taken between the two steps.” Kazemi commented.
Ayakos eyes widened as she stared at the gleaming radiance from around my figure and could not help but be endlessly amazed, she only then realized the depth of this accomplishment.
“It can’t be any bigger than a centimeter!”, she yelled out.
Ayakos loud comment stemmed others to catch on to the same discovery and effectively changed the entre mood of the group of students gathered.
They were all hopeful and excited towards training their own magic control and achieving their own auras.
“You will be able to perform feats greater than you can imagine!
This is why we are teaching you here and why if you strive to become a knight then you will train like one and struggle like one.”, Miss Hayashi continued.
The expression from the class soon brightened into the hopeful grins of young students wanting to learn and experience this promised fame for themselves.
“Now then everyone pair up, it’s time to play sword and shield.”

As a symbol of their cooperation, they have worked together to establish the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial, and Arcane Arts, a place where the best and brightest of each nation can gather on neutral ground and share knowledge, techniques, and cultures. Can the peace truly last, or is the academy just another proxy for the constant conflicts the three nations face? None of that matters to Lee Jia, a homeless young girl who's biggest concern is surviving the winter. But when she accidentally stumbles into the academy in search of a new place to stay, her destiny is changed forever. Determined to carve out a new place for herself and make the most of her good fortune, Lee Jia dives head first into the world of magic and martial arts. Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. I try to write every day, with a goal of about 45,000 words per month (~1500 per day). Chapter lengths are around 3000 words on average, releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Cover art drawn by the incredibly talented Tsuu (TsurotArtistry).
