《Distorted Light :TFALM》Chapter 9. Inside the lord's castle.

I could see Aurora standing around as we waited and I could tell looking at her she was very excited and was in her own world, while Locust was enjoying herself walking around my castle's entrance hall. I could tell not having been down to my place in a very long time, and she was overcome with curiosity. I could see her going through shelves, picking things up off them, looking at them closely before inspecting them.
Much time had passed, and while we waited in the entrance hall, suddenly I could hear footsteps and then the noise of a door swinging open. Edgur came walking in, and I noticed he was no longer wearing his armour but instead had on something more casual. Wearing a white shirt and black pants, I saw he still had on his waist his long-sword. Approaching me, I could hear the footsteps getting closer as he asked me,” Silvar, did you drop off the report?” Forgetting to do that, I faced palmed myself and slid the disappointing look I had looming on my face, and said back to Edgur,” Shit. Tomorrow I will.” Edgur then turned to face Locust, who was inspecting a globe he had given to me years ago as a present, Laughing a little. Beside her were Mela, Aurora, Claire and Vince, who were all casually standing there enjoying Locust spinning the globe, picking up other photos and items inspecting them without restrain. Just then, Vince stood on alert and said,” I sense my owl is close by with the clothing for the witch.”
Then pointing to a closed window, Vince said to everyone in an excited tone, “They're flying in through that window...” Realizing himself, it was the kind of window that opened. We could all hear a banging noise shortly after he said that follow from around where the pane of stained glass was and a momentary chirp noise. Turning to Vince, I could see his mouth wide open in disbelief his owl just did that. I tried my best not to laugh; I really did. Grabbing my side holding my gut, I held it in until I couldn’t any longer falling to the floor. I began to roll around laughing. I closed my eyes and let it all out. I had not truly laughed like this in a long time. You couldn’t write this stuff. “Right there, he said,” bang,” owl falls bird noises Vince’s look of disbelief and shock and embarrassment I couldn’t stop myself I almost was crying it was too funny. I think it cracked my window, but I didn’t care; I just hoped the dumb bird was okay. Vince went running outside moments later and came back inside with the clothing and his owl that looked like the force knocked it out from the impact on the stained glass window. His owl was a rare white snow owl. All white with golden eyes, I could hear him calling it “Heg” as the bird make its owl noises when he would talk to it. Vince was from a family who bred and raised owls as familiars commonly used for deliveries and transportation of important letters; they made good pets too. It was one of the cheaper familiars in Algia. But, there were also fire lizards and bats. The bat was what my familiar was. I tried to get it to wear a little red bow while I dated Aurora, but... The stupid thing slept in the garden most of the time during its baby stages, and now it is a big boy bat; it was almost the size of his owl and no longer cute. Walking over to me with the clothing, I got up off the floor and took it from him. Walking to the ladies, I reached out, giving the clothing to the human witch Mela in my hands. She quickly accepted the clothing. Then I told her in her language, “Sorry, this was all we had, but we are going to go now to have a bath. There are two areas, so you will want to follow the girl with the red hair, okay?”

Mela shook her head and replied,” Okay, thank you, Silvar, for your generosity.”
Giving the woman a warm smile, I said,” You are welcome. When we are all done, I will arrange a meeting tomorrow morning with the lord for you.” With that, I turned now to talk to everyone else and said to them all,” Alright, ladies follow Aurora and Vince and Edgur, follow me to the other guest's bathhouse. Once I finished speaking, our two groups left, and then we started to walk the castle halls in the direction I lead the males and Aurora for the females. Other than the entrance hall, I kept most of the other areas very dimly lit, only using the luminescent crystals as lighting. I could hear Vince say in a rather odd tone while we walked,” Hey, why is it so dark, Silvar? If I had a place like this, it would be lit up for everyone to see.”
Edgur knowing the reason kept walking in silence, but I could see what he meant, being it was a very nice castle built by my ancestors a long time ago. It was not long until we reached the guest area that use to be where I lived as a child growing up did we stop for a moment. I called it the guest area nowadays, but this area used to be my room once upon a time. When we entered the area, there hung a portrait of my family in the dark, my old models and other interesting things as a kid and the various books I used to read. Vince looked around and asked me,” Is this you’re old room, lord Silvar?” When I responded, “Yes.” I saw him then give me a weird look and heard him say, “So how many ladies of the night did you take back here during your prime if these walls could talk, hey?”
But unfortunately, my response was not the one he was hoping for when I said,
“These walls would only be able to tell you of how much of a freak Aurora was as she was the only girl I saw during my time in this room.” I could see the young man sighing with disappointment, then he replied,
”I am so disappointed in you, lord Silvar. I thought you would have been a lady's man Edgur always told us you were slaying it.”
Looking at Edgur now, who stood there casually smiling while he rubbed the back of his neck, then went on to confess to Vince, saying, “Those were actually my stories. I did not want the others finding out, so I replaced my name with Silvar's he-he whoops.”
Vince, with shock, then with angry I could hear, replied,” WAIT, THEN THAT WAS YOU WITH MY SISTER?”
I looked at the two eyes wide, wishing I had a snack, and continued listening, Edgur responding,
”Well, anyway, let’s go clean off.”
Changing the topic quickly, he then followed up and said to Vince and myself,” You and Silvar stink. What the hell did you two do even?”
Vince forgetting what he was talking about earlier went on to tell Edgur,
“We fell in some water in the sewer.” Then we entered the changing room and grabbed a few towels, and headed to the guest bathhouse. A large pool located in the center was not too fancy but rather plain compared to the one I used every day for the last 3 years. I had forgotten how nice the main one was looking at my former bath. When everyone entered the bath, I slipped away in a towel. Walking towards my actual bathhouse, I really hoped Aurora followed the plan and led the girls to the actual guest bathhouse, not the main one. The one when she would stay over while mother was alive. Aurora was forced to the left wing to stay during that time by my mom which was cute. That used to be the actual guest's area when we had people coming by regularly to stay. But when she passed, I made both areas, the guest rooms, moving my things into my mother's room. Making it the Lord's chamber. As I did not have any kids or any family members any longer, who stayed here since Edgur had his own place, it became pretty vacant dirty, and dark everywhere I did not use.

‘: Aurora’ led the ladies towards the guest's bathhouse, hoping they would go along and not follow her once she left them and went to have a bath with her love. She and the other ladies walked the castle halls together as Aurora remarked to some of the others her time spent in this area growing up while dating Silvar. Then, speaking to Claire and Locust, saying to the ladies in a cheery tone, unable to contain her joy, when she remembered all the good times despite the bad, Locust said,” These hallways used to be so much brighter when Silvar’s mother, Lady Algia, was around. She used to bring the flowers in from the gardens and plant them in vases, and the windows weren’t stained like this. They used to be clear to allow light in. It has gotten much darker, but it hasn’t changed too much. I am so happy to be seeing Silvar.” Not long after, she said that she opened a door, and then they entered the room that she remembered was the bathhouse for guests. It was incredibly dusty, and Aurora looked behind her to make sure everyone had entered the room and then thought, “Not my problem.” Then she quickly ran away back to the main area to head towards the former lady's court. Once there, she ran to where she remembered the Lady of Algia’s bathhouse once upon a time. She opened the door and entered the room that was not locked.
‘: Locust seeing her friend nowhere to be seen, was now standing in her bra and panties. Locust suddenly stopped undressing before she then turned and tapped Claire on the shoulder. Locust looked as Claire turned to face her skin tan from all the time in the sun she spent; Locust could see Claire had already gotten her top off and was working on taking her pants off when she said,” Where is Aurora? I bet she's gone off to use the former lady of Algia's bathhouse without us, that bitch! We should go too Silvar said we should follow her.” Locust watched as Claire stopped undressing and stood there with her hand on her waist, thinking while standing across from her. Locust knew what Aurora was up to be when they opened the door to the bathhouse and saw the dirt and dust. Locust said to herself, “ Fuck that.” Locust saw Claire look at her with a disgusted look also and said,” No way I am bathing in that filth, let us find Aurora.” They could see Mela was now still undressed, only having to remove a cloak, and they saw she had a few bruises on her body, on her thighs and arms. They could tell the human also did not look impressed about how dirty this area was. Walking over to the human, Locust bent her knees down to stand at the same height as her and then urged the woman to follow them as she and Claire decided together that they were also going to use the nicer bathhouse Aurora must have run off to. Unable to communicate, Locust kept saying her name and made the gesture to follow.
‘: Aurora’ In the changing room started to take her armour off and undress. Then once she had all of her pieces of gear off, she looked at herself in the mirror adjacent to her, mentally preparing herself for whatever was to come. She stood there and could feel her heart pounding violently in her chest. Next, Aurora saw her body flush red in excitement and started posing in the mirror, grabbing her hips and doing other seductive poses, trying to see which looked best. When Silvar entered, she wanted to be sitting in a very seductive pose to try and show her curves to him. Sitting down, she slowly took off her pants and shirt. Still sitting. Now in her bra and panties, she continued looking at her reflection, holding herself tightly. Finally, she could not wait any longer and threw the rest of her clothes to the side and ran in.
‘: Locust,’ as she and the other ladies wandered the castle half-naked. Locust could feel the air inside was cold as the wind picked up and breezed through the quiet hallways blowing past them. Locust could see Claire tense up as her chest was starting to perk up. Smiling while licking her lips, unable to contain herself at the sight of flesh looking so seductive so tasty, Locust walked up behind Claire and grabbed her chest, violently squeezing tightly as Claire kicked around yelling,” Locust, you’re so touchy, and your chest is a lot nicer to grab than mine! Grab your own!” Now releasing, Claire Locust smiled and played with her chest a little licking the sweat off her boob that was forming. That was when they saw ahead of them a slightly open door, together they approached the door, and when they opened it inside, they saw Auroras armour and clothing lied out everywhere on the floor. Placing their clothing and armour in a nice pile in the corner, they all ran through the door that was open and inside saw Aurora sitting very seductively by the water's edge. Locust holding her side began to laugh as Aurora shot around in embarrassment, falling into the water. Locust swinging her hips back and forth, walking over taking a seat while Claire jumped in the water like a kid causing a huge splash before shooting out.:.’
‘: Mela’ Looked around and never had she seen a bathhouse built with such beautiful craftsmanship. Noticing the other ladies' run ahead, she looked around and took in her surroundings. There were beautiful pillars with a giant fountain of mythical beast resembling some basilisk. Behind it was a staircase leading to a railed area with chairs and tables overlooking the city below from a patio. When she walked around the ledge and back down to the pool, she could see no roof above them, and the moonlight was shining below, lighting up the whole area. The sky tonight was black, purple, and blue, and the moon was coming up. Mela continued to walk around, running her hands on the railing, unable to take her attention to the detail and the beauty of the bathhouse as she dipped her feet in the water.:’

Moonblood
Five moons rise over Evanir, each in her own cycle, and each moon is also a god, one of five sisters. Many gods create spirit attendants and companions, brought forth fully-formed. Long ago, the moons worked together to create a lineage that are, instead, humans transformed by the mingling of blood. They intended them to be long-lived and to draw their strength directly from the light of the moon who chose each individual. The five sisters had different goals in mind – one wanted it to be a blessing for scholars and artists, to give them more time and fewer physical distractions; another wanted them to have an animal form, different for each, to keep them more in tune with nature so they could serve as guardians of the wilderness. There are drawbacks to their children having human lives and personalities before being chosen: not all share the goals of their divine mothers, and some choose to put their gifts to darker uses. Those carrying the blood of one woman, fleeing the corruption in search of a quiet life, take a different path. -=-=-=-=- Moonblood isn't so much a novel as a series of adventures of varying length. They involve a core group of people, which does grow over time. They take place in a fairly low-magic world, but despite that, our core cast are directly connected to the moons and have various abilities, including limited shapeshifting to a single individual animal form. As with all my work, unless gender, orientation, or other aspects of sexuality are explicitly stated, I suggest not making assumptions. Probably most significant, I think, is a major trans character who appears about 80K words in - no spoilers, just a note for those who care about that one way or the other.
