The group made their way to the castle to inform the king of their experience. Upon arrival of the castle the guards immediately brought them in for questioning. After the trip through the castle the group finally makes it to the court once again with an anxious king sitting in his throne. He looked sickly just waiting to here how it went.
Harold: Ah well if it isn’t the four hero’s who somehow lost a cube of immense power. Well? Your back I assume it went off and you brought me back that powerful artifact?
Jacob went to speak but was pushed out of the way by Lily who decided to speak for the group.
Lily: We failed your highness.
Harold lowered his hands and starred at the girl and group in disbelief.
Harold: What did you say?
Lily spoke up once more a bit louder.
Lily: We failed your highness!
Harold: How so? There better be a good explanation.
Lily: Everything seemed fine at first, the cube was right in our line of sight, but as I was pulling it out of the cave it vanished. We entered and saw the Vivara had escaped her chains.
Harold: She what! She escaped? Did she leave that realm?
Lily: No she had an assistant fight us and Jacob and Daniel almost got crushed by their dark magic. I believe Fiona said something about levitation and telekinesis?
Harold sighed. Showing a great amount of disapproval.
Harold: So this new helper of hers obviously assisted in her escape, she still is trapped there hopefully and you know for sure no one escaped with you?
Lily: Yes your highness.
He waved them off to leave with the task of reporting to Elantra and respite about the news to the Queens of both kingdoms. After leaving Daniel decided to speak up since that conversation went about as well as anyone would think.
Daniel: Does this guy even know what we went up against? Jacob is the strongest fighter when it comes to hand to hand even hand to sword and he almost lost against that magic. Are we not just gonna address how the hell all that even happened? Fiona are you listening to me maybe if you just gave Harold that cube none of this would have happened!
Fiona: Zip is Daniel im not to excited about this ether but a jobs a job. We failed as long as they can’t escape this whole thing wont matter.
Daniel: How long will that be huh? A year? 5 years? A decade? Eventually she’ll find a way out regardless of help our outside influence.
Lily: Guys can we just get this job over with? All we have to do is get over to the other kingdoms and talk it out.
The two looked at each other one more time nodding.
Fiona: Alright, do the job and we can do this later but enough of this Daniel I don’t want to hear any more out of you today about this topic unless its for the queens.
Daniel gave her a sigh and brought his hands behind his head as the group made it to the plaza portal, upon activating the portal the casual blue hum would be replaced by a green glowing hiss.
Fiona: Huh… that’s strange, I wonder if it’s malfunctioning for respite too… guess we will just have to take a main portal over instead of the custom one.
After exiting the manual for the portal the hiss would disappear as the group made their way for the open portal to respite and Elantra, opting it would be easier to talk to the Queen Elizabeth they stepped through the Elantra portal.

The portal hummed sending them to Elantra within seconds the group walked into the middle of the Elantra hub inside of the great tree castle. And within seconds of arrival the gate guard would appear flickering her fennec ears and tails at the new arrivals. The black garb of the girl mixed with the red stripes indicating the rank.
Zero: Welcome to Elantra how can I assist you four today?
Fiona: We have an important message for Queen Elizabeth, we need to speak with her immediately.
Zero: I’m sorry but im sure whatever it is a messenger can take it to her directly-
Fiona: I’m sorry but we have to talk with her directly it’s calamity level important.
Zero stepped back nodding. “I will follow you then for safety reasons.”
Fiona: That’s fine it would help to have an envoy for this.
They both smiled at each other and made their way past the main gate of the castle and up the staircase leading to the top of the tree. Eventually making it just below the top of the main tree line they were met with a luxurious room, decorated with marble, music instruments, paintings and a throne in front of a large window over looking the kingdom. During the 70 years after the dark war against the dark gods peace had taken over and everyone began to relax taking up luxury life styles in Elantra especially the queen who was sitting on the throne with her feet dangling off the arm of one side with her body hanging over the other with a glass of their finest drink in a free hand.
Elizabeth: Ah, guests welcome. Oh and zero welcome back.
Zero: My queen, these four have an important message for you from king Harold of Veil, they say it’s calamity level importance.
The queen sat up straight and proper fixing her self in the chair to face the four her white dress reaching the floor. She swirled the drink in her hand as she listened.
Elizabeth: You may speak adventurers.
Fiona: Your graciousness,-
Elizabeth: Oh come now Fiona, I know who you are you may call me mother since that is what I am.
Fiona stuttered a bit embarrassed by this but it was in fact true, all the elates are born under the careful watch of their queen so in fact even if an elate was born between a male and female elate their queen would take up the mother position and their god the father.
Fiona: Mother… We have an important message. The message is dark but not altered.
Elizabeth: Speak then.
Fiona: King Harold is addressing you about the escaped Draconia Vivara and lost artifact that controlled her abilities.
Elizabeth dropped her glass shattering it, some maids came rushing in from outside the room to clean the mess but were rushed off to not hear of this news.
Elizabeth: The… Draconia Vivara? The one we locked up a milenia ago? Escaped?
Her voice was tense and filled with dread but Fiona reassured her.
Fiona: She didn’t leave the shadow lands, but she did have some help with her. In fact that helper almost killed Jacob.
Elizabeth: Yes if she escaped the world would have been plunged into another war this time with an entity similar to Veksis, but how did you know for sure she didn’t follow?
Fiona: The cave collapsed as we escaped, we’re all lucky to be alive mother.
Elizabeth stood and went to the window, Zero although concerned she stood by the door not to disturb her thinking process. After a minute or so of starring into the city Elizabeth turned back to the group.

Elizabeth: This is troublesome. Can I ask where you went through to get to the shadowlands?
Fiona: The custom portal in Veil why?
Elizabeth: You must hurry then, back to Veil it’s only a matter of time before Vivara finds a way out with or without help, I’ll be sending Zero and Ziro with you, We may have had our differences in the past but they helped stop two greater evils. Zero get your other half and gear up for a strike. We here will start to bolster our defenses.
Fiona nodded to the queen and had Zero lead them back to the portal in the main castle. After regrouping with Ziro the two new Elates in their attire from their past, the six went through the portal to get to Veil.
The six would make it and start rushing towards the giant castle from the plaza brushing past the guards to the main chamber of the king.
Harold: What? Why are you all here?
Fiona: My lord We have bene sent back by Elizabeth to protect you and the kingdom, ready the defenses and prepare for an attack that is what she said to me to tell you.
The king somewhat surprised and shocked sighed.
Harold: Fine I have been working with my mages Lilith included on resuscitating Audrey A.K.A Miss Universe. She had been in a state of hibernation ever since bakatta fell and Alex brought her. Mages bring her out!
The group where confused, they had never heard a being could be in hibernation for over a century and still be alive. However to their surprise a woman was brought out on a bed. The mages next to her started using magecraft to heal her awake.
Harold: While she is being revived so to speak I want citizens on full alert. Zero Ziro Protect Audrey if she is not awake by the time a strike happens get her out of here. Four horsemen, despite your failures you four are still warriors. I want you all to spread news to the guild house to spread across the city. I’ll have my paladins and Zealots guard the castle. Go!
The four nodded and without hesitation ran out of the castle to the streets and split up Lily and Jacob to the Guildhouse to spread the news, Daniel and Fiona to the streets for citizens. The news spread like wildfire in the city and everyone ether started to ready themselves or board up their homes, or evacuated. *vrrmmmmmm* The portal in the main plaza would light up a green hazy glow and hissing sound, the same sound as before. Lilith the Grandmaster mage was set up outside the college with a few of her own master mages to protect the plaza. Once the portal range open to the sickly green hiss and glow their palms went up ready to strike.
*Hisssssss* Slowly a body would come out of said portal and regardless of nationality or loyalty Lilith fire a warning shot, one that would blow up the ground in front of the person stepping out.
Lilith: Halt by order of the Mages Association I order you to stay put and answer our questions, any deviation from questions will be met with magical force are we clear?
Sydney: Master said this place would be defenseless, how could they have set up so quickly?
Lilith: Ma’am please refrain from speaking at once unless spoken too.
Sydney: …
Lilith: What is your business here?
Sydney: You want the truth?
Lilith: Yes!
Sydney: To make an entrance for my master.
Lilith: Who is your master?
Sydney: I spoke too much? Master’s gonna be angry. Ah oh well.
Lilith: Mages prepare to-
They all started to float suddenly before being slammed hard into the ground.
Sydney: Shhh… Your too loud even for an elate.
The 5 mages were completely unconscious laying on the ground grouped up. Sydney took a stroll past the market everyone staring at her, finally her getting attention after being looked down upon all these years. She would pick up an apple and the owner of the stall spoke up in anger.
Stall owner: Hey you can’t just take that you have to pay for it!
Sydney: Oh im sorry how much is it?
Stall owner: it 5 co- *Crush* *choking*
*Thud*
Sydney: Free? Oh wow mister thanks for the free apple, I guess my beauty was enough hehe…
She killed the man by crushing his windpipe with the magic she received. Laughing and eating the apple a bit more she wandered up to the main Castle. The guards would look at her as she strolled up. Taking one more bite she took the apple and threw it at one of the guards by the main gate. They both reacted and went up to arrest her but as they got closer they unfortunately were in range of her magic She brought them up giggling with the madness invading her brain.
Sydney: Awe were you two about to arrest wittle ol me? Hehe haha!
The guards struggled in the air and were pushed into the wall quite forcefully their helmets coming off in the process fully revealing their face, taking out a sword in one hand she puled them in close cleaving their heads off in a brutal manner, their blood spraying onto her attire and face.
Sydney: Ew! Your couldn’t have sprayed that shit elsewhere? Gah.. gross… now my master, I come for you…
She walked to the main portal area and by the time she got there Fiona saw Her and charged a shot towards Sydney.
*glancing blow*
Sydney: Whew… that was close who shot me? Who, who?
Fiona: Me you little bitch. I saw what you had done to this place and told how you did it, leave this place!
Fiona would stab her staff into the ground sending out a pulse of energy pushing back the mad woman.
Sydney: *chuckles* No… I can’t falter right now little wolf girl, I have another job to do. So just sit there and watch like a good dog okay?
Fiona growled slightly at her and began another charge aiming a large shot at the portal’s structure support to take it out completely.
*Deflect*
Sydney: Sorry, Master gave me strict orders to not fail. *Counter shot*
Sydney sent the same magic back out towards Fiona who narrowly dodged the attack the giant blast blowing up half a building the building collapsing itself atop her, she was fine but stunned for the moment, barely staying awake for Sydney opening the portal for her master.
The portal hissed loudly, a dark cloud would form in the sky and the weather would began to rain, the dark woman stepped out in an outfit bred for war, the horns of her draconic like heritage fully showing finally. The eyes… those hazel amber eyes burning anything in her way like a dragon destroying a village, Draconia Vivara, escaped…

For as long as history has been recorded, the scrolls have held power over all life on the continent. When a blight was forthcoming, the scrolls foretold it. When dangerous beasts reared their faces in civilised society, the scrolls chose the bravest and brightest to defend our way of life. It is only fair, then, that the scrolls would guide our brave adventurers through every step they should take upon \The Path/. Take heart, you intrepid four, for your scroll within your grasp connects you to the will of the world itself. Follow where it leads, and you will find your path to greatness. -Prefect Chelbun; The Initiated's Guide to Adventure Solomon always took the words of his scroll to heart. Where the scroll led, he would have his team follow. Any doubts his team may have were always dashed away by the words scrawled upon that ethereal parchment. Were that ever to fail, swift dicipline would bring his team in line. When the scroll told him to take his first retirement early, he was more than willing to return home and spend the next five years in comfort. It's such a shame, then, that Solomon's team had other plans for him. Clive was never was a fan of the rules, but he still played his part. Despite this, every moment was spent seeing how far he could strech things before he was broken back into line. Now that he was 'retired', however, he had much more room to stretch himself. Now he's got a plan, one that might just make the rules bend his way, for once. Meanwhile, some intrepid new adventurers are ready to make a name for themselves. Fresh off their initiation, they've already received their first quest, their first tale to tell around the hearth. Chances are good, however, that this story is beyond anything they were expecting. On a journey through uncharted territory, laberinthine cities, and conspiracies older than time itself, only one thing is certain. Whatever comes their way, it's sure to be an amusing tale. This is the story of Alyssa and Mireille, two girls in a world of Magic. They are forced to leave their homes by differing circumstances and must come to terms with their own magical abilities and the problems those bring. Alyssa is hunted for what she is, while Mireille is not certain what and who she wants to be but drifting along is not an option when her life is on the line. They live in a world that is torn by strife where humanity is not the pinnacle of existence. This is a world of high fantasy. It is my first written story. I am a non-native speaker. I will not go out of my way to shock people but the content will at times be traumatizing for sensitive people. At the moment I would guess the story to be PEGI 16 perhaps? It's light on the profanity at least? Cover from unsplash.com
