Chapter 5 Town

“Ah! Welcome King! I prepare everything you need!” The Baron said with the ecstatic smile on his face. “Good work then” I replied. He seems happy about me praising him. “So what do we have here?” I said.

“Ah! Yes…. The first one is your carriage and horse. This carriage is made by the village’s greatest craftsman, the carriage is also full of weapons and armor for you to sell my King. The next one is a horse but! This horse is a highbred horse that is powerful but elegant at the same time!” he said. The horse has a white fur that covered his full body.

Umm.. Everything is good until the horse came up, but I should praise him at least I guess? “Well done… So as to my department” I look at him. “Yes my King, just say everything you want. You want an adventurer to protect you? Anything my King” “No” I said. “What I only want is to forget anything that revolves around me and be silent” After I said that I free the Baron from Lust and invoke the sin of Sloth and teleport me and my things to the outside of the village.

“I think that I should give my farewell to Cathy” I teleported to Cathy after that. “AAH!.... Phew I thought it was an enemy..” Cathy seems surprised when I teleported in front of her as she hold her hands into her chest. “Cathy, I just want to give my farewell” I said. “Eh! Already! B-but it’s too soon don’t you think?” “I know, but I cannot help myself to wander around especially that the Heroes started to influence our world” I said.

“T-then at least take me with you!” “No” “Why!” “Because Cathy has a place called home. I cannot afford to take you with me when almost all of the non-human species here are relying on you” “They can take care of themselves!” She protest. Good grief, that is not the only reason why I cannot take you with me.

“No, I also want you to guard this place and report me everything” “Eh?.... But letters can take a month you know?” “I know that, so that is why I am giving this to you” I invoke the Sin of Sloth and take out a pendant that comes out from the space inventory.

“Here” I gave it to her. “What is this?” She ask “ Is this perhaps a gift just for m—“ But before she can get any weird idea I immediately cut her. “This thing is a communication pendant, it will allow us to talk even if we are apart from each other”

“Then off we go” I said to the horse and move. It seems like the horse has a quite intellect as he listen to what I say. I could see the road is paved well, although it is only composed by bricks and such. “Only wealthy Cities have this kind of road but I guess this is one of those Heroes influence”

As the horse walk, I spotted a different kind of views. Sometimes I could spot some statue and even a hut for people to rest in. They are quite considered is it not? From time to time some thoughts like using the Sin of the Sloth to teleport us comes to my mind but I immediately dismissed them.

It will kill the adventuring feeling that I got right now if I use that. ‘Ambush is it not?’ from the side of the hill where I am currently in, a group of people started to appear and surround me. Bandits huh? They have rough looking faces, most of them have rusty sword with blood stain on it but the other one is quite different, it looks like he is the leader.

The leader laugh and all of them laugh too, I wonder…. What are they laughing at? “Excuse me gentlemen? Can you please help me with these carriage?” I ask them. One of them replied saying “Of course! Just give it to us and there’s nothing to worry!” ““Hahahahahaha!”” All of them laugh together. Good grief, they seems a bit too cheery but. ” I will take your words for it” I said.

I invoke the Sin of Lust. “Now then peasants, pull this carriage for your Great King!” I shouted with joy. “What the hell are you sayi---……..Yes My King!” “Eh! What happen to yo---…… That is right my brother! We must serve our Great King!” All of the has a different reaction but all of them obediently obey my command.

One after another, the bandits….. My servant starts to pull the cart. They look like they are born to be in this moment! It feels so natural to see them like this! Although it is quite tragic that my horse could not afford to sit here with me but I guess that sometimes things are just the way they are.

“This is more faster than the horse… oh! I do not mean anything bad” I look at my horse and apologize. It looks like they are quite happy that they are serving me. My servant runs like a playing child, enjoying their little play time. “Oh no… It will be dark soon we must hurry” I said to them.

“Yes my King! We will be at the nearest town before the sun set!” The leader servant said. “Really? Then is very assuring” I said. Ah… How lucky am I to have a dependable servant like them to serve me. I am so lucky it is not?

They pull the carriage faster than before. There are 10 of them currently pulling the carriage so I think that they can do it. The carriage is shaking wildly but I cannot tell them to stop since they are doing their best for me. “Oh! I can already see the town!” “It’s……. o..ur….p…leas…ure….to….serv..e..yo..u..my…K..ing..” One of them replied to me while catching his breath.

“That is not how you supposed to talk with your King but I guess I will let this one slide off” “Tha…nks…..M..y…Lor…d” I spoil them too much huh? After some time I notice something.

This is bad, the speed is steadily slowing down. I guess that they must take their break. “Stop!” I said. “You all reached your limit! I am happy to for you to serve me but now I must let you all go” “N..o We…we can st-still…MOVE!” one of them said. Their saliva is overflowing from their mouth. Their sweats are falling like a water fall and they smell bad too.

“No… I think that you all need some rest” I snapped my finger and all of them fell down like a puppet whom been cut its string. I put my horse into the carriage and started to run.

“Faster Horse!” “Muhuhuhu!” The horse look at me as if saying ‘ I can’t run anymore faster than this!’ “Hmm… Then I will lend you my power” After that I invoke the Sin of Anger and give the horse some of it. “MUHUHU!” The horse run faster than before.

The horse looks at me again but this time he’s saying things like ‘Why did you not use it on the humans!’ “They are just my servant, but you. You are the personal horse of the King so you are far more special” I said.

It is true though. They are nothing but servants, I can make them anytime and anywhere. “It looks like we will reach the town” I said. But before we can reach the entrance a man came and call for us.

“Hold it right there!” A guard stopped us. “Identification Card?” He said. “Oh wait a moment please” I took out the Merchant license from my pocket and gave it to him. “Let’s see…..” He looked me with suspicious eyes and said. “Name, Lord King….. Background, The supreme ruler of all creature…….Age… 30….”

“Huh?” I myself is surprised. To think that he would fail this badly huh? “No, forget on what is on the card but listen to me instead” The guard put his hand on the sheath of his sword. I invoke the Sin of Lust and commanded this man.

“You will be quite about me and you will let me pass” “Yes my King!” “Good” Nice. I think that I must redo the merchant license, but this time it will be me who will make it.

I entered the town while having a smile on my face. “Now then heroes….. what will you show me this time?”
