《fall into darkness》Chapter 28: Judgment

Although the military reward that Chris said was extremely attractive, Du Dian rationally dismissed the idea of claiming it. He was not sure whether the Knight of Light had found any clues about him from the alchemist's secret room. Although he set it on fire, the traces of the explosion would not disappear. If he was brought to the Knights of Light for questioning after receiving the award, it would inevitably reveal flaws.
Moreover, there is the Alchemy Notebook in his trouser legs. Once it is searched, the consequences will be disastrous. He just wants to stay as far away from those bright knights as possible.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help laughing bitterly. If he knew this earlier, he would not keep this note. In that case, if he went to claim military merit now and make up a reason to escape, he might be able to get away with it.
"A chance for a knight..." Du Di'an sighed, a little painful, but he still clenched his teeth and broke his thoughts.
"Dian, that's great..." Zach was excited, and just wanted to continue, but was stopped by Du Dian's stern gaze.
Zha, Mei, and Sha couldn't help but be stunned for a moment, but after a few months of getting along with them and the ten-day survival training, they had already cooperated tacitly, and they could understand Du Di'an's meaning with just one look, but they couldn't help but be full of doubts. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, it can be said that a golden road leading to the highest status symbol of civilians has been delivered to Du Di'an's feet, but he only needs to take one step forward!
This is what so many people dream of!
However, under Du Di'an's gaze, the three of them looked at each other and said nothing. During this period of time, they were convinced of Du Di'an. Although they felt incredible and doubtful, they still did not stop Du Di'an's choice.
Seeing that there was no response in the crowd, Chris couldn't help frowning slightly. At this moment, a voice suddenly sounded: "I, it's me." It was a short boy who raised his hand and looked a little nervous.

Chris breathed a sigh of relief, took a deep look at him, and smiled: "Congratulations, the reward will be recorded in your household registration by Instructor Tob. Now, let's appreciate how the Knight of Light punishes the devil. ."
When her words fell, a person slowly stepped out from the huge black carriage. This is a young man in silver-white armor. He has a handsome appearance, a tall and straight body, and his armor squeaked softly while walking, making a pleasant sound. Touch sound, full of charm.
There was excitement in the eyes of all the children. Compared with the proud nobles, the commoners worshiped the Knights of Light who were full of justice and kindness.
Du Dian looked at the young bright knight, but he was thinking about the previous things in his mind. Could it be that the alchemist Chris said was not the one he met? Or, was that short kid pretending to be claiming it? No matter what it was, Chris didn't seem to have any intention of verifying it. He believed it only because the other party admitted it, which made him feel a little regretful. He knew it was so simple, and he claimed it, and he blamed himself for thinking too much.
He sighed secretly, but he knew that he had missed the chance, so he could only put his mind away. No matter what, life is only once, and it is always right to be cautious. As for military merit... He shook his head and put these thoughts aside. At this time, the young bright knight had come to the alchemist who was stepping on Tuobu. With a faint smile on his face, he slowly pulled out the knight's sword from his waist and held it high, the sunlight reflected on the blade. Colorful light.
"I, Melk, judge the devil in the name of the God of Light!"
"Light will eventually drive out all darkness!"
He chanted softly, the sword in his hand charged up, and suddenly slashed down.
With a puff, the head of the dying alchemist was immediately cut off, blood spurted out from his neck, his body fell to the ground, and the blood gurgled into the sand.

Such a bloody scene made many children take a step back in fright, but soon became excited again, shouting the words on the cover of the Book of Light: "Light will eventually drive out all darkness!!"
This sound came one after another, gradually became neat, and reverberated throughout the desert.
Du Dian didn't want to be found out, so he shouted softly, but said silently in his heart: "Can't you see that the blood of that person is as bright red as you!"
In this world, it is very common to try prisoners in public. Whenever a prisoner is judged for heinous crimes, it will attract countless crowds. Perhaps in this monotonous world of entertainment, this is also a kind of "lively".
Soon, the Knight of Light named Melk judged the alchemist, cleaned his sword, and turned to leave.
Du Di'an and the other children, escorted by Tuobu and Chriss, were dragged back to the special training site for scavengers in a black carriage.
After returning to the dormitory again, everyone felt that this small room that once looked shabby and shabby was so precious and reliable.
...
...
"I heard that a total of eight alchemists were arrested this time." Dashani leaned on the soft chair and said with a smile: "This is a feat that even I am jealous of. You are the cooperator of this operation. If you can get a piece of the pie, I believe that after this batch of special training is over, you will be promoted to the hunter school. When the time comes to discipline that group of "monsters", you will have to suffer. "
Tob said with a wry smile: "You are joking, this is just a drizzle for you, the main credit this time is all on the genius of the Mel family, and today he also publicly adjudicated a two-star alchemist. "
"The Mel family seems to be about to rise again..." Dashani showed a smile on the corner of her mouth and said, "I heard that a three-star alchemist was killed by another alchemist, and a child escaped from him? "
"That's right." Tob sighed: "The child has been brought to interrogation by Kris, and he should find some clues to kill the three-star alchemist, most of whom are also alchemists. From the light knight's point of view, The scene was destroyed by a fearful demonic force, hopefully not a four-star alchemist."
Dashani narrowed her eyes slightly and said, "The four-star alchemist has not been active outside for a long time. If there are four-star alchemists in the desert, it is estimated that you and this group of bright knights will not be able to come back."
Tuobu took a light breath, smiled bitterly, and said, "Next time something like this happens, I hope you will give me advance notice, so that I won't be kept in the dark again."
Dashani yawned and said, "I'm tired, you go to work first."
Tuobu smiled bitterly and could only respectfully step back.
...
...
"Jubi calendar 291 years, disaster and rainy season."
"The experiment is ready, the structure of the human body, I have completely mastered, today, I will use my own body to carry out the experiment, and soon, my 'Rothyard' name will forever be engraved in the Temple of Alchemy, immortal, and I, will also become the new creator..."
When there was no one around, Du Dian secretly looked through the alchemy notes. This is a record of the alchemist experimenting and refining his body. From the scribbled goose feathers, he could faintly see a little trembling, which shows how much he was at that time. excitement and excitement.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
