We stood at the forest entry to begin our trip to the great burning field as Farron calls it .I had no idea why he insisted on such a strange way to relax .I didn't mind much since if he wanted to go i would accompany him but did he not understand he is wasting valuable time? I suppose humans need an outlet when they experience stress, lets try to approach this from his perspective. Hes being training under the impression that we'll be kill on a planet he wasn't born on and his story so far will mean nothing.

I see that must be a horrible feeling that he has to carry around with him, i suppose this is neccassary. Being a zyanite and all i must consider the fact that each lifeform has a different stressors. I need to work on being more sensitive

"You sure you know where you're going" i asked trying to lighten my own mood, im positive he knows how to get there Farron has never been the type to endanger his loved ones.

"i've been there a few times in the summer with my clan back in the day, so im familiar with the path"

"we should be hundreds of miles away from your old clan though "I blurted out

"we're actually closer to it now then back at my clan if I've been surveying the area correctly"

Has he been putting that much thought into this, that's just like him .He must've used the little time he had alone to scout the area.

We walked for about 10minutes before Ezra started to show signs of cracking, between me and her she was the most introverted .Meaning that she hated leaving her room, this trip was test of her will.

"how close are we?"

"well were about 150- 200km from the field " Farron replied to the pampered queen

200km was nothing we could reach that reach that today if we wanted to, if the whole point of this trip you never know with Farron

"that's it? we could reach that today if we wanted too" i said

"true but why not take it slow there's no real rush, you have to learn to loosen up. "

loosening up wasn't something i was good at. But ill try no shame in it. Walking through the forest we saw the same things as we always did plants and animals. I was failing to see what made this trip of his so relaxing, Farron however seem to be having the time of his life

"ahhh nothing like the wind on my face and sounds of birds"

There was plenty of things that could fill the gap but i wouldn't mention it, if he was happy ill tolerate the trip.

"Its.. ok i just want to see the oil field"

"Great burning field ,it looks great's too "

Hopefully it was as great as he made it out to be. After a few more hours of walking it became night.

"Hey its pretty late do you want to set up camp" I asked the only person needing sleep

"haha no I'm fine thanks, if anything i was going to ask if you guys wanted to continue our hike through the night"

He was becoming more resilient by the second .I know there would come a day when he would surpass me in strength .For now though i could enjoy the spoils of being stronger.

"sure thing" if he wanted to go the extra mile why would i stop him

In the middle of walking a few more hours buck started to drag behind, we could tell that he was tired. poor baby waby don't worry mommys here. We found a area where there was no disturbances to settle down in, we divided the labor me and Farron did the tent, Ezra cooked his food .I wondered why if Farron was a chef himself he let her cook his meals .He might've just wanted her to feel needed in some way. That was dumb Ezra would've loved to do nothing but i guess he was trying to be considerate. Our Buck was just fine eating grass.

It wasn't long before each of us completed our task. All of us conglomerated around the fire.

"That wasn't so bad was it, you saw some new things" Farron said

"No actually it was quite pleasant, aside from all the leaf crunching the path was very calm" Ezra replied.

"yeah that's the intention, who knows maybe you'll become a nature lover" Farron said in a snooty

"Doubt it, but this wasn't that bad" She replied

I was surprised that Ezra of all people was enjoying this. Lets try to say something to not kill the mood.

" how much longer till we reach the mountains"

mission failed that was probably the worst question to ask

"1 and a half days if we stroll, by tomorrow if we rush"

he didn't notice thought so ill just keep on

" mhh closer then i thought, so far my view of this has been overall neutral... just wish something would attack us"

He made a took a great deal of effort in order to tell me that animals on this planet don't attack unless they have a good reason.

"well that sucks" i said stretching my legs

If nothing would attack us, i wonder if i can get him to do a small training excercise

"Hey farron"

"Are you about to ask me to fight" he said clearly unamused

"WAAAhhh... yes" i replied shamelessly, i cant help if im a battle maniac

after giving into my request we fought for a few hours then he made some excuse about reaching his limit. Since he was cooperating in the first place i didn't press the subject further. Leaving him to sleep i just walked around for a bit then came back to camp. Walking over a sleeping Farron i put my face just inches above his.I loved doing this while he was sleep and he would probably never find out. He was so cute watching his body sway up and down.

"What are you doing" Ezra said shocking me

"when did you get back" i asked

"i never left, caught you doing something weird"

"it's not weird at all ,we're partners" i said defending myself

"sure" she replied not buying it

"What do you actually think about the trip so far?" i said changing the subject

"what do you mean i told you before its nice"

"Yea.. i just mean Farron seems to think this is worth our time "

"and you think I'm the scaredy cat"

"what do you mean?"

"You don't want to step out of your mental comfort zone."

"Yes i am, I'm here aren't i" she had no idea that i was putting forth an effort

"What do you see as we were walking through the forest"

"plants and animals?"

"yes but what else?"

I wasn't computing where Ezra was coming from what else was there but not plants and animals.

"I don't know?"

Walking over to me she slapped me

"That's pay back"

I wouldn't hit the queen back because ,well she's the queen and her hits hurt less then Farrons

"Let me explain this in a language you can understand. Think about it like this what type of guns exist. Im sure you can name pistols,rifles ,bazukas whatever. Now lets apply that same logic to this forest. There are grasses, trees , ferns ,bushes ,flowers ,etc. Theres birds,bugs,fish,reptiles,canines,cats,bears etc. You get where I'm going with this?"

"uhh i wish i did but i don't" i replied still confused

why was she just listing lifeforms

"This forest is jampacked with life, you just are very surface level. You need to dig deeper ... act like you were born on this planet... like you were learning everything again for the forest time, i promise you'll at least fine some interest"

That is true there are many sub categories of plants and animals on this planet. Was i really just not paying enough attention. How could i overlook something so simple.

"i need to go back to the basics is what your saying"

"I know where much older then Farron so what he says seem childish, but try to be more like Buck ,he was always sticking his nose everywhere trying to learn something"

I see what she meant now... kinda

"Thanks for that"

It was now the morning and Farron was finally getting up, My baby Buck was still sleeping .Gently patting Buck on the head i raised him from his sleep.

Baaaa

We got a move on and i tried to pay more attention. Mhh under my feet were a purple flower that grow in a backwards cone, in them were some strange little insect.

"over here is the yeamatis flower they have a symbiotic relationship with scavenger bees and over here are some scavenger bees... don't get to close they have a nasty bite"

So these flowers a yeamatis and they work with bees

"why do they work with bees" i asked

Farron turned around and i saw his eyes light up

"To help pollinize and defend them from predators. You see there shape these bees have teeth specially designed to be the only animal able to reach the pollen, in return the bees thwart off any things that try to eat them"

"Hey farron... is it ok if i ask you to explain the forest as we walk through it? i know its a weird request but im interested in it"

Upon hearing me say that he grabbed me by the shoulders "i would love to"

"Here is the Wildsun tree it got its name because in the summer time the top part of the tree catch's fire, but it doesn't spread because the bark is fire resistant ,the soil under is always great for use."

"This is a catamala bush, its a breeding ground for catamala wheelers, there a 10 legged insect that use the thorny bushes as protection"

"and what does the bush get from it " i asked

"haha nothing not all relationships are mutualistic some of them are commensal like this one"

How did he know all this stuff about these plants, he even seemed to know down to the bugs.

"you really know about a lot about the surrounding area"

"yeah before i became a soon to be intergalactic VIP , i spent practically all my time in the forest. This knowledge was necessary to stop myself from eating the wrong things or being eaten myself"

"sounds rough" said Ezra

It did sound rough one thing i never had to worry about is getting eaten or eating.

"all things in life have there ups and downs, this was the same"

There's only so much i can learn by asking farron .Looking around i saw what i could only describe to be a bunny with horns .Around its horns were the catamal 10 legged creatures weaving webs through its horn. That was exceedingly rare why would two animals try to co-exist with each other, especially when one can obviously eat the other .I know what i just said about learning but i needed to ask Farron.

"Hey Farron.. look at the rodent over there, its horns have a catamala insect living in it"

"oh wow nice catch! mhh what is going on here... oh that's simply ingenuous. So what i suspect is The Furyhorn is using the insect to catch bugs that pester it while it eats grass .The insect gets a mobile home, while the furyhorn gets a bug repellent"

That was neat i suppose did everything in nature work like that ?its sort of like back on my home planet... everything works in support in one another in some way. Predators are useful for culling populations kicking starting natural selection .The herbivores eat the grass killing the older individuals leaving space and fertilizing the younger ones. The insects... well i don't know what they do yet but i know they had a role.. How did i not notice this sooner .This world is literally me... all it is a an organic machine, that naturally makes adjustments and changes itself.

"You know... i think I've come to a realization"

"oh and that is?"

I didn't want to jump to a conclusion too fast... ill see if i still feel like this when we reach the mountain.

"uhh ill tell you when we reached the field" i said retracting my statement

"lame" i heard him exclaim

I had to agree but i would rather not say something stupid.

It was starting to get late we had been going for a while at this point

Staph stomp

i saw Buck stamping his hoofs towards the direction of a bush. Mhh knowing what i do now i had to consider there was a valid reason .Considering Bucks body it looked to me like it was in anticipation of something, could there be a enemy.

"what's wrong Buck" farron said

so even he could tell something was wrong

"fight time?" i said feeling that something vicious was coming

The moment i stood a large four legged creature came from out of the woodworks.

It let out a thunderous shout .Buck reacted by showing a tough façade. Ahh i see it was trying to scare us away to try to eat Buck, that was not going to happen in a million years. Even the notion that something wanted to eat Buck my baby was infuriated. Its eyes were locked on Buck i needed to get its attention somehow

"FIGHT TIME" i said putting my volume to maximum

It finally turned to face me that would be its last mistake.

"ugh so noisy get rid of it will you"

That's exactly what i planned to do this guy needed to be taught a lesson .I wouldn't kill it though it was just doing what it does.

"with pleasure"

I rushed the slow moving creature easily pinning it to the ground .It was making some crying roar sound but it was lucky i didn't break its arm or better yet its neck.

"dude why be so big if your going to be so soft"

"that's right you little bitch never attack my son again"

"ill destroy you"

Farron seemed to disapprove of my mental assault on the bear but someone had to teach him .Eventually i left the big baby alone and it ran back to the forest from whence it came good riddances. Not long after Buck came up to me with a look of adoration .haha Farron wasn't the one to get all the love it was about time .I was feeling frisky from the small battle i had and i wanted more, a real opponet. Looking over at Farron all he said was "FINE".

"Thanks hun" i said understandingly

We walked a few feet before i proceeded to beat him black and blue , well just blue i wouldn't do him like that .After that he went to sleep, Buck was still up eating grass as he does in a matter of days he went from only liquid milk to gras and milk, he was growing so fast .Not long after he finally went to sleep as well ,leaving me alone with my thoughts.

One thing was becoming clearer and clearer to me every time i thought i knew something it was always flipped on its head. I suppose that's because i only ever viewed things from perspective and automatically assume it was correct without any real thought to it.I really do need to act like Buck. I sat there and thought about my previous life until the morning hours .It started snowing at some point when i wasn't paying attention to that, that probably was a bad habit.

"Ahh the snows feels great , this is a sign we were getting close" Farron said

We 3:56 hours later we arrived in front of a decently sized mountain shaped like a mound. Where was the fire fields of that he made us come all this way too though ,Perhaps at the very top?

"so is this the right mountain, where is the fire?" i asked curiously

"Its in the center, trust me we'll get there." He replied

i still didn't like the idea of taking more time then need to reach the top of a mountain we were already at. I was conflicted i wanted to see the types of life on the mountain, but also i didn't want to camp out on a mountain trail there could be a mudslide, avalanche or Buck could just fall.

"Lets rush this time around... i don't want to came on the side of a mountain it would be too dangerous for buck, plus i want to reach the top before the sunset"

"Alright" He said

We sprinted up the mountain trail effortlessly the path was wide enough to accommodate all four of us. I made sure to match my pace with the slowest member of our group which happened to be Buck, but even at this speed we would reach the top before soon.

Baaa Buck stopped

Infront of us was a feline creature hiding in a leafless bush.

"oh look its a mountain lion" said Farron

I walked over to it and picked it up by its armpits

Meow?

It was cute so i didn't want to brutalize it, plus it was a part of nature i was basically walking into its home .Replacing it somewhere out of sight we continued on our journey. Thats when we finally reached the top of the mountain

"Were here!" Farron said excitedly but low

My radars could sense heat coming from below but i would rather give Farron the pleasure to show it to me.

"mhh looks ok now where's the field"

"follow me"

following him we must have walked for less then a minute when he said

"Stop... Look down"

I looked down and what i saw was actually amazing. It was like a gardener had come here every morning and cut all the flames into perfection. They swayed in unison with a blueish yellow color to it making it legitimately beautiful.

"Oh wow its gigantic" Ezra

"Yea its like looking at grass but in fire form" i commented

"The best part is just about to start"

The best part i need to see this in that case

"you really weren't kidding"

I wanted to see as much of this as possible. sitting on the edge literally i let my feet dangle downwards to feel the heat on my meta l.It contrasted nicely with the cold surrounding air and fog .I gave them a hand gesture making it know i wanted them to sit by me ,Farron seemed hesitant but when wasn't he. Eventually he overcame his fear and sat beside me .This moment was deserved to be savored so i wasted no time speaking and just absorbed everything.

"enchanting ,that's the word you were looking for"

I don't know if she was talking to me or Farron but i assume they were chatting or something .I guess i could say what i wanted to earlier, this field just served to confirm my newly held belief. It represented more then just a fiery field but my burning passion.

When we started this journey i only went because you wanted to. The first day ill be honest i didn't like it there was no action and it felt like a waste of valuable time. It was only till the second day did i realize that you wanted us to become more acquainted with our surrounding's and through that lenses my appreciation of the little things started to grow. Things like the grass, small insects, the bear, the mountain. Everything in the world is interconnected from the biggest to the smallest creating a living thing in and of itself. We are part of this world and every world for that matter, and its a part of us"

it felt good to let out my emotions

"That ... was incredibly intelligent" Farron said along with a kiss

He gave some to Ezra and even Buck , but i was first making me the most special

"Hey can you take a picture? i want to have a physical copy for my room"

I would be glad to take a picture

"How sentimental, done" Ezra said looking at me knowing she beat me to it

"i took one too just incase you want another angle" I said

He didn't seem too concerned about who took them first just that we did.

we Watched the scenery for a few hours leaving it to soak in our minds.

"Alright this is great and all but i gotta hit the hay"

"cya"

"bye,sleep tight"

Ezra left to go lay with Farron and Buck

I watched the dancing fires all night firmly imprinting its beauty
