《The Celestial Swordsman》Chapter 1.8: The Tribe That Lives on the Mountain

As Hoshi looked on to the village he recalled more of what Arakan told him about the mountain and its inhabitants.

"The tribe that worships the Ice Dragon is said to be older than this city." Hoshi recalled Arakan explaining, "It is said that the inhabitants of the mountain originally were traders passing through the mountain but got stuck there due to the cold weather and icy path and set up camp there.

Over the years many more would come there and over time the traders made homes and houses.

Then they discovered the Ice mountain living in a large cave there and stripped of their beliefs and religions began worshiping the ice dragon that gifted them with "presents".

Over time, the small group of travelers and traders began getting larger and larger, until they had built up an entire culture.

Now permanently living on the mountain the tribe stopped travelers and traders passing over the mountain, mugging and killing them. Because of this for the past 500 years, the two Empires separated by the mountains have not had any interaction."

As Hoshi had finished recalling what Arakan had told him, his wound had fully healed.

Now it was time for Hoshi to move forward with his adventure.

Knowing how dangerous they were, Hoshi hoped not to engage with the tribe and just sneak by them.

Luckily spanning beside the village was a small wall of rocks.

Hoshi began soundlessly sneaking beside the village.

Hoshi was looking through holes in the rocks and saw that the village was small with only about 8 simplistic houses. Surrounding them were cliffs, but behind the houses was what looked like a huge stone door.

Hoshi was about halfway down the path, when he saw something strange.

A young girl being dragged into the room behind the giant rooms. The girl had luscious, blond, wavy hair, beautiful smooth skin and she was wearing a red robe-like dress with yellow highlights.

Now Hoshi knew he couldn't just walk by.

He knew how dangerous the tribe was. He knew the mortality rate of people passing was less than 0.01%. But if he left that girl there, her chance of survival would be 0%.

Hoshi unwillingly began moving towards the city. Since the rocks were blocking his path he would need to jump over them.

Hoshi still didn't think he could take all of the tribe members on at the same time, so he decided it would be blessed to sneak past them - specifically over them.

Hoshi would jump off of the rock and onto the roof of the building nearest to him, then silently jump from building to building.

Hoshi put his plan in motion - he jumped from the rock to the nearest building, then the next, then the next until he finally arrived at the building by the gate.

He leapt off the roof and landed and rolled on the ground.

Hoshi was opening the door when it squealed, bringing all attention to him.

"Damn..." Hoshi said, "This door needs to be oiled."

Hoshi awkwardly laughed.

But this was no moment for laughter - a battle was about to begin.

Hoshi drew his sword and enlarged his shield as many tribe members grabbed the closest weapon, object, or just went in bareheaded and rushed toward Hoshi.

The battle had begun.
