《Sol-int》Chapter 8

Felix slowly crept over thick twisting roots and mossy patches armed in his mail and some plate. A hundred and seventy similarly followed him as they made their way through the dense forest to the target. He gently climbed over a root that stuck high out of the ground, careful to not make any noises. After nearly three years he had found the hidden town of the dark lilies and he would finally get rid of them as an enemy.
As they neared the town's invisibility border the intelligence talked about Felix noted a sharp increase in air’s temperature. His eyes were also becoming irritated at seemingly nothing, watering up and feeling like it was burning. He glanced at those to his side to see if they were feeling what he felt, Felix only needed to make eye contact to confirm as they made a final push through a barrier in place. The trees that once seemed endless around them had suddenly ended revealing the town in a state Felix didn’t expect.
Large plumes of smoke rose from the settlement lighted by scarlet flames that leaped from building to building expanding in its fiery hunger and rage. The inhabitants -some clothed in messily equipped armor others in sleepwear, and some completely nude- fought in frenzy and confusion as the fire raged around them. Felix analyzed the chaos and raised his saber high into the air for a couple of seconds until all his infantry noticed it. Felix swiftly swung the blade toward the town, signaling their silent charge.
They covered the open field between the barrier and the town in half a minute before assaulting the vulnerable assassins. Felix and his men sliced and stabbed whoever they found -the only exceptions being people of importance and children under a year old. The plants would feed on the blood and bone of anyone else: old, young, skilled, unskilled, and any in-between. They had to kill anyone who could regrow this terrible vine of death. Felix breathed a heavy breath as he pulled his blade from another teen assassin letting the blood flow onto the wooden bridge they stood on.
Felix looked around, their purge had been going wonderful as the fire confused the little parasites as they fought. The eternal cherry blossoms were lit aflame as the fire burned their leaves off and they regrew them instantly, making the trees look like massive fireballs that continued to burn as the fighting went on. From off the bridge, Felix could see a cloaked group on the other side of the village rush off into the forest. One of the cloaked figures, in particular, caught his eye with their golden swirls that adorned the black cloth.
They would track down the rats later when their current work was done. Felix trudged over the bridge and onto the old cobble road that was broken up by invading grass. He felt the many sleepy nights weigh on him once again threatening to take him to sleeping wonders, but he clutched his teeth and gripped his blade harder fighting off that demon. Felix continued making his way through streets and houses killing whoever he found.
‘For peace… or security? Perhaps family?’ He put those thoughts away as he finally made his way back to his men who had rounded up a dozen or so individuals and what looked like a hundred children under the age of one year.
“Sir, as you ordered we have gathered those in special houses, those with special weapons, and some ninety children under a single year of age.” The commander saluted for a second before dropping his hand to the side. “I have prepared a messenger ready to call the caravan through if you deem that necessary?”

Felix nodded, “Send him commander we still have much to do now that these things are put where they belong.” He looked over to the prisoners some of whom had fallen unconscious. “For the most part.”
Felix went off to the side and sat down to rest his legs. The fire that had once ravaged had settled down into cinders along with most of the buildings and structures. The Dark Daisies for the most part had been dealt with now he only needed to have search parties look for those who escaped during the chaos. Felix glanced back at the dense forest with its mysterious shadows moving through them most likely pack hunting creatures who were curious about all the commotion going on beyond their sight. He even entertained the idea of that wolf… thing checking out what they had done and coming for the dead bodies to eat.
The caravan would take another several hours to safely make their way through the forest as the many mages pushed, shoved, and moved trees out of the way of rolling carts pulled by herd lizards. Felix caught himself sighing and stopped, could not there be a better way to transport things and people? That seemed like the problem he always faced whether he was leading a front or talking about merchants.
There never seemed to be an end to problems. One day it’s traitors and the next Felix II needs a new maid to play house with. Sadly the problem just keeps getting worse as those Revolutionaries seemed to double in size every time he hears about them. If Felix did not know better he would say they were using the Noxenvoul to just duplicate their people. He did not entertain that idea for long as he shook away the thoughts and rested his mind for the few moments he could.
Before something else came up to give him any headaches.
Zeverous quietly treaded on her bare feet up the sacred library's old wooden steps and inside where out of her satchel she pulled her finalized experiment. Zeverous had spent the past twenty-six months constructing the book and spell that would allow her to properly document every book in the library. The spell itself was made with ink that connected through the pages that made a three-dimensional matrix to have proper space to fit the runes. When activated the book would copy the ink that her mana-coated hands passed over meaning that she could document nearly an entire page with a wave of her hand.
She sat at the first bookcase that towered over her as it always had and Zeverous began to swiftly copy the books making sure to also designate the titles to the books so she could easily come back and find books. As the sunset, her pages filled with black, and she moved down the bookcase until she had copied the final book and moved to the next shelf of eight. There also were the books along the walls but as those were more fiction and philosophy she paid them no mind.
More of the night passed as she moved through each bookcase faster than the last until it was nearly midnight and she had finished copying the last book from the bookcases. She glance over at the books on the walls and rolled her eyes, Zeverous supposed she could try to copy them. By chance, the first one she grabbed was some raunchy romance that was probably placed her by one of her sisters. When she finished she headed to grab the next book but was interrupted by the library doors being opened suddenly. Immediately, Zeverous stuffed her book back into the satchel that pressed down on her skin through the full cloak she was wearing.

“Zeveve!” Shouted one sister, Lindia, if the arrogant squealish voice indicated correctly. “You have broken curfew and need to be punished by order young Master!”
Zeverous counted three of them all by the door, prepared to fight, and sighed. There was no stealth option now. She walked out to the center aisle.
“Sisters!” She responded in her young childish voice and looked down with puppy eyes, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to break curfew! I was just so invested with studying…”
None of the girls were convinced with this little act of hers. Zeverous bit the inside of her cheek in frustration and an instant she pulled a small dagger and through it a lighting speed at the sister to Linda's right. In that same instant the girl to Linda's right, Rachel was her name, countered with a dagger of her own that Zeverous barely dodged as it split the button holding her cloak at her neck. Rachel did not react fast enough to dodge though as the dagger plunged into her throat killing her.
The now loose cloth fell off Zeverous and out of her satchel loop. She was revealed wearing what amounted to scanty underwear. The thick, smooth material crossed her petite chest and down looping over her crotch and barely over her butt before being linked around her hips to the two main stretches to the material. The bit that covered her chest looped around her upper back securing it there.
Such clothes stunned both girls, who were both charmed and disgusted with her display of skin. Linda was the first to recover-
“I knew you were going to be a slut Zeveve, but this… you’re just a child WHORE!” Linda pulled her blade ready to attack but not before Fiz’Na whipped up a spell circle and aimed it at Zeverous.
On instinct, She leaped forward and across into the safety between the bookcases. An eruption of deep red flames engulfed Zeverous’ surroundings as her mind raced to think of a counter. She channeled her mana and circulated it to construct an armor but then heard the first row of bookcases crack and fall. In that instant, she had made a plan and began to climb to the top of the bookcase at a frantic pace.
Linda watched as Fizzy continuously poured more and more flames into the library. Lindsay watched as the wooden bookcases crumbled to ash under its own weight and patiently waited for the flames to reach the little sex thing. The second bookcase finally began to wobble and crack as it burned, but it was not as it seemed as the bookcase suddenly fell toward them. From the top of the case jumped Zeverous, both hands now preoccupied with the bright spell circle in her hands as she faced her hands to Fiz’Na.
Fiz’Na’s opened her mouth as she barely croaked before her body inflated like a balloon and popped, leaving all her fleshly bits to fall on the floor. Linda swung her broadsword diagonally at the now grounded Zeverous. Zeverous leaned to the side to dodge only having the blade pass through her ear, taking it off. Zeverous called her blade, Destroyer, from the armory knowing it would take tens of seconds to reach her. She desperately weaved between slashes and out of stabs only landing minor hits on Linda.
Destroyer burst through the burning walls of the library with its roaring veracity. Zeverous caught the sword by its hilt and parried a blow from Linda before reacting with one of her own. Linda jumped out of the library and onto the grassy cobblestone roads.
“MASTERRR!!” She roared into the night as Zeverous defensively walked out of the bright burning library that was now spreading to the nearby buildings. Destroyer hummed reflecting its user's building ferocity. Zeverous shot forward at attacked Linda with harsh heavy blows. Linda kept up for a while until Zeverous finally slipped past her sword and relieved Linda of her arm. With no hesitation Zeverous decapitated her. The body stumbled back and fell to the ground, dead. Clapping could be heard as Zeverous wiped the blood out of her eyes.
“Wonderful! Wonderful!” He continued to loudly applaud her… almost mockingly. “Must I truly kill such a fine warrior?... And woman.”
“Oh Shut that mouth of yours!” Zeverous said disgustedly at his words. “Your life ends here, FEID!”
“A foul mouth for such a dame… That will make it even more satisfying when you beg for me!” He laughed and widened his stance, ready to draw the katana at his hip in a moment.
“That’d make me-” Zeverous unleashed her assault. “-VOMIT!”
For the first, ten or so attacks Alexxer only defended from Zeverous. Her tight attacks slowly became sloppy as she fought faster until he spotted an opening and pushed forward with his attack.
“AHHHHHH!” Zeverous’ right hand flew off the handle of Destroyer and onto the cobbled ground. She stumbled back groaning in pain as she did her best to stay on her feet.
“You-” She grunted and attacked with her sword, this time with one hand.“-Bastard!”
“Incorrect, again!” Alexxer griped his katana harder and intercepted Destroyer, shattering it like glass. “You’re over, you seductress!”
“Ohnowearenot!-” Zeverous clutched her teeth and suppressed the screams as she charged the mana throughout her body.”-Transform!”
Zeverous’ body burned and froze as her muscles grew in size and density. Her bones thickened and became longer stretching her skin as thick fur grew all over. Zeverous winced as her senses sharpened. Her face elongated and her ears moved to the top of her head, growing larger and larger. New vertebrae grew to compensate for her height and as her tail bone extended out of her body. In the instant that the transformation took Zeverous went from her eight-year-old self to being a towering werewolf!
Alexxer gulped lightly and attacked with ferocity. It was not nearly fast enough as Zeverous moved with the speed of a cheetah and dodged his blows. With a singular punch to the stomach, she sent him flying into the air and through the wall of a house. Despite this, she doubted he had died from such a thing. Zeverous opted for a retreat before anyone came to support the young master. She bolted off into the woods stuffing the hilt of Destroyer in the satchel that barely looped around her arm.
Now -Zeverous smiled and breathed through her wide wolfish jaws- it was time to have an adventure!
