There comes the day and Li Qiaosheng is preparing for the operation.
“Qiaosheng!” Suddenly there comes a solemn male voice from behind.
Seeing Xia Zhiguo, the chairman of the board of a company, Li Qiaosheng slightly lifts the corners of his mouth and steps forward, “How are you doing, Mr. Xia?”
“Good. Qiaosheng, I'm quite clear about your feelings toward my daughter, which has fallen into my eyes as a father. Although the loss of a bone marrow (a common sense mistake) would not do you much harm, Wanyan doesn't think so. She is worried that you might get hurt. After all, we can get others’ with money. But yours is different, Qiaosheng! Since your wife is gone, what about letting Wanyan take over her responsibility to take care of you?”
“Dad!” Just at this time, Xia Wanyan comes over with the help of a nurse. She puckers her lips and says coquettishly, “It’s been only a few days since Youyou's death. He lowers his head in deep thinking. When he raises his eyes and looks into Xia Wanyan’s expectant eyes, he finally says slowly, "Well then, I would like to follow your wish, Mr. Xia. Wanyan is a good girl, and I'm pleased to be able to marry her. But, since it hasn’t been long since my mother's funeral, I'd like the marriage arrangement postponed for a while.”
“Great! Of course.”
“Do you mean it, Qiaosheng? Do you really want to marry me?” Xia Wanyan rushes to Li Qiaosheng with a cheer, her eyes sparkling, totally forgetting that she's still faking a “patient”. Yet her expression is still somewhat scrupulous.
Seeing her reaction, Li can’t help being touched again.
“There might be some unspeakable reasons for her to deceive me.” Li thinks to himself.
“Why not? Do you remember the appointment we made when we were just little kids? I promised you that I would definitely marry you if you're still single when we grow up.” He softens his voice naturally.
However, Xia is irritated on hearing this because she knows clearly that the appointment was made between him and Mu Ziyou, that dead "BFF" of her! Although Xia is almost bursting with hatred inside, she appears to be quite moved and hugs Li tightly.
Why?!
Why does he only see Mu’s image in their childhood rather than her image when they are grown up, even though she has done so much for him?!
