《The Boss System》(Transmutation)

In the desolate streets of the slums, a young red-haired kid laid shaking. He had caught a fever and due to his lack of nutrition, he could barely move his body.
'It can't end this way, I must get my revenge. No matter what, those bastards have to pay for what they did, especially that bitch!'
"Oh, it looks like this is the end of you, Eric. I don't think that you are going to need these shoes anymore right?"
He turned around and found two kids looking at him with mocking faces.
After taking his shoes the two boys that Eric had seen many times began searching his body for anything valuable. He had fought off the both of them several times thanks to the little amount of training that he had received. Unlike them, he didn't take food away from the other starving kids which was the reason that he was in his current situation.
"Oh, that's one fancy ring, I bet it's worth a pretty penny hehe."
Eric slowly shifted his head to where Tristan was pointing, his vision was blurry but he knew what they were talking about, it was the ring that he had turned into a necklace. He struggled to get up, every little movement gave him so much pain. "Take the boots….. If you want.. take every…..thing…...but you won't…..have….. the ring."
His mother had given him that ring before he was separated from her. She had told him that it was a family heirloom and that no matter what he had to keep it safe.
"Really, Eric? If you don't give us the ring then we will just ruin your face even more."
"Stop saying stupid shit, Tristian, how can we ruin such an ugly face more than it already is? Just look at all the scars, what else can we do to him?."
Before Eric could answer he saw the blurry figure of Jack's fist. He tried blocking but he was too slow and the punch hit him square in the face. The impact made him fall back and he landed on the floor butt first.
"That's right, get up haha. You have no idea how much we have been looking forward to this moment. Tristan, it's your turn now.
"I'm on it haha."
The two friends took turns beating him senseless, people that walked by just ignored what was going on. Such a scene was found everywhere in the slums it was normal, they got nothing out of helping.
Eric laid on the ground as the two boys waited for him to get up so that they could continue, "There's no way that I can die here, not ye...."
As he gave his last breath the ring which had now been covered in blood began to glow and it disintegrated.
The two boys had grown tired of waiting and they checked on Eric to see if he was dead," Hey where the hell did he put the ring? He still has the chain but the ring is gone."
"Let's hurry and see if he threw it on the ground, if someone else finds it then we can forget about getting it back."

(Meanwhile on Earth}
"Hey Jason, have you finished your homework yet?"
A 13-year-old red-haired boy who was reading manga on his phone sighed and rolled his eyes, "Yes Mia, I finished it already."
'At least the one from math class.'
"Wha….. come on people hurry up and translate those chapters, you can't leave me hanging like this, It's was getting sooo good."

Jason looked at the recently released section to see if there was anything new for the other manga but nothing that fit his liking appeared. "Nope, nope, this one looks interesting... nevermind the MC is a woman...… ooh is this the one with the evil MC?....hehe it is, I thought I had lost this masterpiece forever haha time to read it again... EH what's going on?"
As Eric clicked on the manga he found that the ring on his finger started to glow suddenly and then it started to disintegrate as if it was digital. Once it was completely gone he felt his body get drowsy and his eyelid became heavy until everything was dark.
[[Artifact has been activated, transferring host's soul]]
'Say what? What's going on?'
[[Transfer has been successful]]
'Who are you? What do you mean transfer?'
[[Creating system.....]]
'A system? Wait am Is this really happening to me?'
[[Merging system...… Rejected]]
'What do you mean rejected? Am I going to be reincarnated without a system? Wait what the hell am I saying, why am I reincarnating in the first place? I was still alive!'
[[Cause.... Incompatibility]]
'Damn system don't be so picky.'
[[Reanalyzing soul ...]]
'Phew, I get another shot?'
[[Analize complete]]
[[Recreating system….. Merging]]
'Please….. I don't give a fuck what system I get just don't make me reincarnate without one. After all, something is better than nothing.'
[[Merge Successful]]
'Thank you… whichever god or whatever reason I'm getting reincarnated. Thanks for not giving up on me.'
[[Transferring Memories]]
'Wait mem…?....Oww my head... shit it's going to explode!"
"Damn bitch how dare you do that to me….. Wait, it didn't happen to me….. So it's going to be that type of situation huh…. What do I have to do? Do I need to get revenge for this Eric? Hey, that's my ring….Mother? What's she doing in this world? Don't you dare bitch if you do anything to her I'm going to kill you! Mother!!!"
Jason stood up looking around wildly, his body was full of sweat and blood and it was shaking from what he had just seen. He patted his unfamiliar clothes wildly, "Where is it? Where's the picture!"
"What the hell? We thought that you were dead. What are you screaming about?"
Jason turned around and found two boys that he had seen in the memories he had received. Before Tristan could say anymore Jason had jumped up and punched him in the stomach.
"The fuck? Weren't you almost dead? Did you fake being si..."
He dodged Jack's punch and countered with a right hook to the jaw, knocking him out.
Jason walked towards Tristian who was rolling around in stomach pain, "Did you take a photo from me? Where's my wallet?"
The boy stopped himself from rolling and shook his head quickly, "I didn't take anything like that from you…. Al….. All we took were your shoes."
He didn't think that the guy was lying, the clothes that he had on weren't his and the weird robot lady mentioned something about his soul. That meant that everything he had with him when he died stayed in his own world.
'Damn it, not only did the ring, the one thing that I received from my parents disappear but now the picture of my mother is also gone!!'
He kicked Tristan in the head and knocked him unconscious and took anything valuable from both of the boys. Which to be honest wasn't much, just three copper coins, a backup shirt, and the worn-out boots that they had stolen from him.

'I'm not sure exactly the reason I'm here but you two idiots are one of the reasons that Eric died. Though I am thrilled to live in a new world, I lost two of the most valuable things to me. For now, I need a quiet place to think, why did this Eric have a memory of my mother being killed?'
After walking for a few minutes he found the place he had seen many times in Eric's memories. He looked both ways before he started climbing the building. He was surprised by how well he was able to climb it. Now that he thought about it fighting those two was also surprising, it seemed like Eric's memories were affecting him.
'Well on second thought I'm the one who took over his dead body so yeah.'
Once he was on the roof of a building he laid down, took a deep breath, and began filtering through the memories of Eric.
After going through all of them he finally opened his eyes and was surprised that the sun had gone down. 'That was harder to do than I thought, Eric had so much hate in him and I felt it all. He lived his life in a small village with his mother, the same person that was in the photo that I had on me when I was given to the orphanage not to mention he also had the ring…. When he turned 11 he was taken from his mother and given to a lord of a small town who claimed to be his father. He became the lord's 6th son and was trained in swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. After about a year the lord died and the one who claimed power was the 1st son who was 17.'
'That fucking bitch if you wanted to take over then fine but you didn't have to do that.'
'When his mother found out that the lord had died she went to the town lord's mansion and asked to take Eric away. That's when Olivia killed her in front of Eric, saying that she couldn't let a bastard son of a maid take the family name. She ordered some of the town soldiers to take Eric to the slums of the city and cut his face up so that no one would recognize him if he claimed to be someone he was not. She didn't kill him because she wanted him to suffer. For a year Eric has struggled to stay alive waiting for himself to grow up so that he can get revenge on the bitch and her sons.'
His stomach grumbled and he sighed, 'That doesn't explain why I'm here or why Eric's mother looks like mine. She said that the ring was a special heirloom, and both rings disappeared. Mine glowed before it disappeared so that definitely has something to do with it. Could it be that my mother was able to travel through worlds? But if that's true, why would she leave me on earth while she came here with the other bastard, that's not fair!'
'Damn it, I was angry before because I didn't know why my parents abandoned me but now I don't even know how to feel!'
He took a deep breath and looked at the stars, over the years he had learned to control himself thanks to the counseling of the orphanage. 'Okay, for now, I'm nowhere close to being able to take on the Runeguard family. The first thing I have to do is stabilize my situation, Eric already died from hunger, sickness, and injuries. Looks like I was cured of the fever, and the recent injuries from the two dumbasses, sadly it doesn't seem like the scars on my face were healed though looks like I'm going to have to take off getting a girlfriend from the list. Anyway, at the moment I'm starving and poor so I have to find a way to get that taken care of, which reminds me.....'

'Subjects?... oh so subjects give me points daily, but how do I make them become my subjects?.... 200 points already? Is it like the beginner's packet in manga? .... 10,000 for an upgrade? Well, it sure isn't cheap but not too bad either, it just depends on the amount of points these subjects give?..... Ooh it's a gacha system hehe and I have storage as well! Looks like the robot lady did a good job creating a suitable system based on my likes haha. I just hope that I have better luck than the MCs on manga, if I keep rolling water bottles or something like that im'a kill myself.'
Jason tried clicking on the Gacha Roll button on the status screen but his finger went through it, 'Do I have to think about rolling it mentally?'
((Gacha Roll))
Before he knew it Jason found himself in pitch-black space, there was a light from above that illuminated the area he walked in. 'Was my actual body transported into this space or is it just my mind or soul?'
He looked in front of him and two spotlights revealed 2 giant Gacha machines. One was green and black and its gacha globe was shaped like a skull. The other was white and gold and had the globe shaped like raised wings. In front of each one of them was the following notice [Cost of roll: 200 SP].
"So my gift packet was enough points for one role hmm….. Will I be anl;e to use both of them after I make my choice of which one I'm going to choose right now?"
He sat down and took a deep breath, "Alright think about this carefully, I'm in a world where Dark magic users are hunted by the church so maybe the death Gacha machine isn't the best of choices. That said being a saint isn't really my cup of tea and I'm not so sure how the church will feel. I also have to think about the subjects part, no doubt that having some kind of priestly abilities or equipment does sound nice but it's not guaranteed I'm going to get anything that good on my first roll. The death gacha machine is more likely to give me something to defend myself with, as for hunger I'll just take the food I need, and for subjects I'll see if I can get any by scaring them into submission. I have to get revenge on those two anyways so they can serve as my test subjects. Alright then looks like I've decided."
Jason walked to the black and green gacha machine, pressed the notice, and a golden particles came out of his body and entered the machine. When the last particle entered the coin part of the machine the bracket began to spin and a grey gacha ball shaped like a skull rolled out and traveled through the spiral tray.
He felt like an eternity had passed as he waited for the ball to come out. When it finally had he looked at how small the skull was. He opened it and found a piece of paper, he began to get even more nervous as he unrolled the paper.

- Curses the holder with bad luck that could eventually lead to death.

"10 gold? Can't say that it's what I would have wanted but it's better than nothing,10 copper is equal to 1 silver and 10 silvers are equal to 1 gold. If I have 10 gold then that means that I have 100 silver or 1000 copper. It's a good reward to get me started all things considered, at least I don't have to worry about being hungry anymore. As for the curse, well sorry for them, it says that they get bad luck and that it could EVENTUALLY lead to death, lets just hope they get rid of the coin fast enough to avoid that. I thought I would get a weapon or a skill though, pretty sure I can get those right?"
