Sylia's Tower
*Yawn*
Maria: "Good morning sun!"
The sun smiles back at Maria through her window. A couple of doves fly in and straighten up her bed head returning her hair to just the way it looked before she went to sleep. The Mirror on her dresser floats in front of Maria as she looks over the two dove's work.
Maria: "Hmm... Let's try Twin tails again!"
The Two doves move and braid Maria's hair into Twin Tails.
Maria: "This never looks right with the wings... I know Try a bun!"
...
Maria: "Never mind just make it straight again!"
Having finally settled on her hairstyle (the same exact one she chooses every morning.) Maria steps out of her bed and walks to her room door that shuts closed from its cracked open position as she approaches.
Maria: "Good morning Rainy! Sleep well?"
Maria had opened the door to a girl in a shadowy black robe. Judging from the black shadows under her eyes the woman did not sleep at all.
Rainy: "Haha! Good morning beautiful! I slept splendidly!"
Despite what she claims I stand by my words when I say 'She did not sleep at all!'
Maria: "Great! Ready for our trip?"
Rainy: "Of course Maria! I will follow you everywhere!"
Goddess of Wisdom's Throne Room
A black cloak with wings fiddled with the patch panel in the armrest of Maria's throne. Having not found Maria Grim turned to the only clues he would have to locate her. her Goddess World Netherite Network interface or GWNN interface for short.
Grim: "New worlds get all the cool devices... this whole world is running on the c280 World Renderer! Earth has over 6 billion people and it's still running on that crappy OT5 model... Higher Authority needs to get with the times and upgrade already before they suffer another crash and have to reboot everything."

The blue lights make a sigh emoji inside grim's hood.
Grim: "I wonder who decided on Fluffy Candy texture pack for the world though? Oh, there we go! Got it... Let's see, the last answered call... 'Kingdom of Wisdom - Hero summon' Good a place as any to look I suppose... closing down."
*meow meow meow woof meow!*
Grim: "... ill pretend I did not hear that... what a weird sound file to play when going on shut down mode..."
the same goddess who set that sound file was probably the one who choose the said Fluffy Candy texture pack
On the Imperial Highway to The Kingdom of Wisdom
...Correction beside the Imperial Highway...
Maria: "It's sure nice of Scout Terance to act as a guide for us to the Kingdom of Wisdom isn't it Rainy! but... did he say why he wanted to stay so far ahead of us?"
Rainy: "Haha... Ya, he wanted to scout ahead and make sure everything is safe!"
Rainy waves to the figure ahead of two who is walking ahead on the road and commands her undead ghoul to wave back.
Rainy: "Are you sure you do not want to walk on the road though? It would be a lot softer on your feet!"
Maria: "yes quite... I wouldn't want to be hit by the horse carriage."
Rainy looks up and down the road but only sees her undead ghoul.
Rainy: "Carriage?"
Maria takes a few steps close to the road and suddenly out of nowhere a carriage zips past which would have hit Maria if she did not stop short.
Maria: "That Carriage. wait... oh no Terance got hit!"
Rainy grabs Maria before she runs off to him...
Rainy: "Ah! wait right here ill check on him real quick!"

In the forest, a hunter's shot misses a bear by a few feet as his arrow goes wide and travels over 50 yards away. The arrow coincidently bounces off Maria's shield
Maria takes 0 damage
Maria waits patiently while humming a tune.
That morning the forest of the imperial highway had over 80 unexplained unlucky shots from several archers. when Rainy finally returns there is a pile of arrows lying around with Maria who is standing around waiting on Rainy. Of this is not the first time Rainy has seen this happen... there was that one knife throwing practice of Rainy's where they would always ricochet off a target and somehow be drawn to Maria's shield so this was just business as usual.
Rainy: "Terance is fine! see over there! Let's keep going haha!"
Maria: "That's a relief!"
The two followed their shambling friend down alongside the imperial highway... leaving behind an easily traceable trail of blooming flowers and lost hunting arrows along their path.

The Joy of Evolution
"Alright, so I have this idea, a completely original one by the way, never done before." I say. "Alright, lets hear it." You reply happily. "What if you got trapped in the body of a tentacle monster that looks like a virus in a world that is like a videogame, with skills and... whoops slip of the tendril there, what I meant to say is Mutations and Levels as you evolve your way up from being that lowly creature into a slightly better lowly creature, all the while, an evil devil person watches over you for entertainment purposes." I say making weird hand gestures across the table. "Oh and that main character used to be a human male and uses its past experience as one to survive in this new world as a little mass of flesh." I pull out a little ball with suction cup tendrils and show you. "So, what do you think?" " I dont know seems, a little sameish, I think Im gonna go." You say as you start to get up from your worn but still plush velvet chair. "Wait" I sigh, " I didnt want to do this but you leave me no choice, I promise you an extremely diverse harem..." The door closes as you leave. "They'll come back." I say hopeful. Cover: https://phil.cdc.gov/Details.aspx?pid=21073

The Last 100
The bustling crush of humanity had become common place now, the cacophony of voices and the symphony of a city had become the song and dance of our species. But it was not always such, and return back to our more humble roots we did.The system had come, and it had stripped us bare. Sure it had given us a means to power, but at what cost. We were the last 100 left. Night was falling on the human race, it was a dark night, and it was cold. But go quietly we would not. We would make the world burn with an inferno of our defiance. Rage, rage against that goodnight, and I Jack Casser, have rage a plenty. This is my story, the story of the last 100.Author Note: This story is a LitRPG apocalypse, woah fucking original idea I know but hear me out. If you can look past preconceived ideas driven by a stigma of overdone tropes and done to death plots of achieving world domination and self-righteous characters and give the story a chance I hope it can surprise you.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
