Chapter seventeen
A realm where there existed no such thing as the sun which brought the day or the night which brought encompassing darkness called the night. Here even the concept of light and dark, black or white and seen and unseen was melded together into a form of pure chaos.
There was total instability in every aspect that rendered the use of any primary senses completely useless. Everything was part and apart from reality, this was the home of deception.
Wherein creatures of all magnitudes dwelt. Forces of rage and malevolence that held a great influence and even greater power on the Actual World. (To refer to the basic reality that we know i.e. earth I will use the term ‘Actual World’ but it does not mean this earth will have the same laws as ours)
It was here that a small shadow manifested itself out of thin air. Without any pause or stop, the shadow instantly moved on. Although its existence was pitifully far from the inhabitants here, it had made an excellent decision by not standing still and becoming an open prey. Instead its speed started to increase at a frightening rate that made even its basic movement filled with power to threaten most of the creatures that had tried to attack it.
Now that it was almost a blur, the shadow moved freely through the realm and headed towards the center where the heart could be found as well as the topmost powers around.
Sensing the shadows intentions many creatures were roused to try to prevent the shadow from reaching the heartland where the secrets of their existence where kept. But more importantly there was a strict hierarchy that everyone obeyed.
If this shadow disturbed the slumbering overlords of this place then a lot of them would have to pay the price and no one was willing or able to negate those kinds of consequences.

One such one was a creature known as the Carnal centipede. Noticing the newcomer’s presence it broke out of the ground and flew towards the shadow.
Despite its ginormous size, the carnal centipede swiftly moved through the space and arrived before the shadow within a breaths time. Its facial features were filled with eyeballs of all shapes and sizes. Each one of their irises was distributed through the color spectrum making this a sickening sight of beauty.
However there was a common theme among them, Blatant lecherous intentions within.
“Friend” The centipede scuttled forward “why the hurry?”
By now many other creatures had surfaced to the shadows to watch this confrontation.
“Move.” The shadow showed utter contempt by simply uttering a basic command.
The ground shook as its tentacle like feet trembled with anger. No one dared to show him such disrespect, he might not be an overlord but many guessed that he was second to none after them. Yet this mere ’shadow’ dared to give him commands.
“heh heh” The centipedes eyes started to turn chaotically in all directions “ I had showed some consideration because of the speed and power you have shown.”
“But it seems I have to show you your place around here!” The centipede screamed with its shockwaves bringing forward thunderstorms. In response the shadow turned around and did what it did best and turned into a blur once more.
Accepting the challenge the centipede long body descended downwards gaining speed and momentum to pursue the shadow.
The earth trembled and many beings screamed in terror as the two that held terrific amount of speed travelled the realm. The shadow maintained a safe distance as it slowly melded between the different domains traversing like a phantom, Unnoticed and unfaltering.
Close behind it was a raging force that crushed everything around it, a true manifestation of the wrath of the worlds. At this point their speed could rival titans as they broke limits and even entered the sky.

All that was left behind them were havoc and anger filled with fierce lightning and merciless winds.
More and more spectators that even consisted of monsters that hid for eons resurfaced to watch this magnificent battle.
“Only the overlords can stop them now” An old soul stealing spirit exclaimed with many nodding in agreement.
“Who is that shadowy being” Another voiced out a question in each one their minds.
“Imbecile! Coward!” The centipede grew in frustration that turned into insults. Doubts and worries started to appear. Who was the being in front of him for he could sense that although he himself was giving it his all .His opponent had not shown his entire potential?
As if responding to his taunts, the shadow immediately stopped and turned around.
Seizing this opportunity, the centipede closed in. However when he was close enough the centipede felt an instinctual foreboding. A warning that everything was not as obvious as it seemed.
“ Huh” Obeying its instincts the centipede noticed finally that it had arrived at the very place that it had been stopping the shadow from entering.
The heart of this realm, the very territory in which the overlords dwelt as well as where they ruled from.
The only things here were five seats that were placed in a circular order. In the middle of them was a raised seat that overlooked all of them. A throne surrounded by its followers.
The seat of the ruler of the void realm.
The centipede watched in horror as the shadow walked past the barriers that was placed by the overlords and sat on the raised throne.
“Impossible” No one could surpass the barrier, even the highest existences named the ‘ overlords’ each had keys that needed to be present simultaneously for them to enter.
“Who,,, are you?” This time the centipede realized that perhaps the reason why it could not sense the shadows presence was not because it was too weak. No, it was too far beyond its perception abilities.
The barrier shook as it transformed into an avian beast and shredded the centipede into pieces. It was not even able to utter a cry before it was wiped out.
The throne that the shadow sat on started to vibrate and resonate as if it was triggered. Strands of red colored mist emerged and wrapped the throne.
“Devilish energy, impossible” A spectator muttered in disbelief. In all of time there had only existed one true Devil, A being that was the first and last to assume sovereignty over all the creatures of darkness.
Lord Maere
Instantly the other seats shook in resistance and started to rebel. The presence of a king was not tolerated. Invisible waves started to move chaotically and slammed the throne.
“Tsch, looks like the old geezers won’t accept my return this easily, this much is already enough I suppose” With only this single statement, the shadow stopped resisting against the forces of the other seats. Instead it stood up and vanished, leaving as mysteriously as it came.
After its leave, all the energy present simply dissipated and the seats returned to their original desolate forms.
‘Sigh’ many powerhouses quietly turned back but they knew that the coming times were going to be hectic. A struggle for power would ensue between a returning monarch and his treacherous vessels.
However not one of them was disappointed instead they looked forward to the end of this dull peace.
After all beasts had fangs for only one reason, Bloodshed.
