《Hunger for affection》Act II - Palace | Arrival

"It will be that here, I can eat well?"
The young Rin thought in silence and concern, who, despite arriving at her fourth home, no longer cared about her treatment, or her masters, much less the place where he worked, else if she could satisfy the hunger that had plagued her for years at her old job.
This is since she already knew that in the end, it would go badly for her, so when being guided through the luxurious palace by a woman, who could be her boss, she did not express any emotion about this and simply followed her in silence and grace, as a result of the hateful label that was forcibly embedded in it.
The woman, for her part, was analyzing the future employee, while she explained a little the rules of the place while guiding her to her residence, and it's in this analysis where she concluded with disappointment that it would have been good material if it weren't for their race.
But these thoughts mattered little to Rin, who only thought about eating and sleeping, and with those wishes in mind, time passed quickly for her, arriving together with the woman at a residence, secluded in a corner of this small town called palace, in which as a matter of course for her she was presented to the few present in the room where she was going to be living.
"You know how this is, she is Rin, she is part of the new servant that the palace is buying, and she will be her companion in residence, and for now she will be working in the laundry," the woman explained to the young servant.
But to all of this, Rin wasn't paying attention, until they mentioned the laundry, which made her laugh in her mind.

[Laundry, it would be funny if I were to sweep again]
Apart from the laundry, everything started relatively the same as their old houses, an elegant place, a uniform, people who hate to see her, and untouchable masters.
[How long will I be here? Will it's a year or two?]
[Or how am I going to leave? Maybe they'll kick me out for being ugly as always"] Rin laugh thinking that.
She gracefully gambled and thought Rin in her mind, about her so familiar situation as she changed, silently ignoring the insults of her classmates before leaving for her new job.
Following directions, from some servant on her way, Rin was able to get to the laundry, where she found what she expected, lots of clothes, and several servants.
As always, she was received with hatred and disgust by the others except for a servant, who would be her companion because she shared part of her stigma, being part of another race, in her case, being from the tribe of wolves.
"Hello, my name Yue Jin, I'm glad to see a bestial companion, even if it's from another tribe." Yue greeted Rin with kindness.
This kindness and this person surprised Rin and filled her with joy to finally find someone like her.
"Rin Shin, nice to meet you," She replied simply, a product of the customs instilled in her old job.

8 135Absolute Power
A story about a teenager named Aarav trying to find his place in the world, while trying to make it a better place to live. NOTE: Please remember the word 'TRYING'. Guys I have edited the prologue and uploaded it after I uploaded the fourth chapter. Although the story hasn't changed much, I have tried to make it flow smoother. Added a few more details to the life of Aarav and stuff like that. Might wanna take a look at it. P.S. - Guys this is my first story. I am trying to learn English better but since I don't have enough money for books, courses or tutors, so your criticism and support will have to do. This is my first time, so please be gentle. P.P.S. - I selected harem in tags because generally people who like it tend to be more chill. Right now I have a rough sketch till the second volume and there are only two female leads.

The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series. Its already free on Amazon, so I thought I'd post chapters here for the good folks of Royal Road. If you don't want to wait for updates or would prefer to read it on Kindle, you can pick it up for free here: https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B01066TLC0
