Chapter 13: Annie Leonhart

1 year has passed and it's now year 848.

Vincent was here in this Training Camp for about a year now and he is now 13 years old... 

In the first year in Military Training, Vincent got to know almost all the Trainees. He helped them if they needed help and taught them on better balancing in air and such things... 

He was a great help to everyone and everyone like him because of these traits of him.

In the Lecture room...

"Today, we're gonna talk about cannons and how to operate it..." 

"Cannons were used against the Titans before the invention of the 3D Maneuver Gear." 

"To counter their low mobility, cannons were installed atop the walls on rails to improve their defensive effectiveness." 

In one of the lecture rooms a middle aged man whose the lecturer was talking in front of many Trainees.

"There were 3 essential parts of a cannon..." 

"The first essential part is the projectile or the "cannonball" Second is the "gunpowder" and lastly the "touch hole" or "vent" in which the ignition device is inserted" 

"And of course these 3 are the essential parts but the cannon will not operate without..." 

(A/N: Many hate this part, because of the long winded explanation of cannons. So I erase it)

The lecturer then began drawing each equipment's cannon, and then pointed the uses of it...

Vincent listens at the lecture he will do everything he can and learn and every single thing that can possibly kill a titan... 

He was dead serious about his goal either he's dead or all Titans were killed.

He then looks towards everyone in the lecture room and stops at Armin, the kid who has an exceptional mind and thought... 

'Armin... this kid maybe or can be, one of the key in his revenge...' 

He then stops thinking and just focuses his attention on the Lecturer.

Even though Vincent was from the Modern World in his previous life, he only needed one thing and it is to Kill.

For 20 years of his life Vincent only learned one thing and it is to Kill... 

That's why in this life he wanted to have a peaceful life that did not need to kill and live a happy and peaceful life.

But, everything change, that's why he will do everything to kill the one that broke his dream the dream of having a "Happy and Peaceful life"

Ding! Ding! 

The Bell rang signifying the end of the lecture the middle aged lecturer then closed the book he was holding, then said to the Trainees. 

"We're done for now, lecturer dismissed!" 

One by one the Trainee began leaving the lecturer hall... 

As he was preparing to leave Vincent was approached by Connie... 

"Vincent lets go and teach me some moves of yours to get the girls to like you" 

"Ok..." 

Leaving the hall Connie and Vincent left together... 

"Yah!" 

With a shout, Connie punches Vincent, but Vincent easily dodge it and counter with a kick on the stomach... 

"Connie, before attacking, be as unpredictable as you are, and catch your enemy off guard..." 

"You always shouted whenever you attacked and I was attacking on full force and not having the strength to pull back your punch..." 

Vincent then reaches out his arm and pulls Connie up... 

"Connie, you have a feet, use it wisely and knock your enemy" 

Connie patted his shirt and said... 

"I don't use it cause you're not using it too. And I need moves to make girls fall in love with me and not this kind of move" 

Vincent said that as he suddenly raised his right arm and made a straight kick towards Paul's face , scaring the hell out of him.

"And if it come down in time when I'll be using my leg it will not only resulted in bruises or fracture maybe life could be lost as well" 

"And... If you master and get better in Close combat, maybe, No. Girls will surely fall for you" 

Vincent then began to train Conny and, on his proficiency in close combat.

At dawn... 

Connie was leaning on a tree, beat down and exhausted.

Clothes filled with dirt and faces filled with bruises, that's the state Connie was in... 

"I thought I died..." 

"Well... It for your own good" 

Vincent said that as he drank the water, on the bag in his hand and thought... 

'The fear of death. Connie first needs to overcome the fear of death making them stronger and have a little backbone in escaping or fighting a Titan.'

"Gonna go first..." 

Vincent said that as he began walking towards the boys lodging room.

As he was walking around the field he spotted a blond hair girl and thought... 

'Talking about close combat Annie Leonhart will be the best and most adept and across the entire Trainees I knew' 

'She uses some modernized combat Techniques, and was great at using it too like she practiced it since childhood...' 

Vincent then began to continue walking and walk towards the boys lodging room.

Because of Training Connie since dawn, Vincent's body was tired and needed some rest.

He then began to take a quick nap getting woken up by Connie, as they began walking towards the dinner hall where they ate the food that was served there.

The food that served in the dining hall was only bread and a soup with a little bit of vegetables and rice mixed in it.

Vincent then began to eat the unappetizing food he needed more food and it's no time for complaining he needed to eat and always stay filled with energy, so whenever there's unexpected things like the Titan attacking he will not be exhausted fast.

Many things not needed to explain the benefits of eating food.

Then, with a gang of Jean, Marco, and Connie, the four of them began to make small talks etc… 

Vincent looked towards Annie Leonhart and thought... 

'I want to test her skills someday if she can be a worthy comrade in defeating Titans or if she's only good at close combat.' 

Vincent then began to thought of some plans while responding towards the three idiotic friend of him.

The bell rang and everyone started going back.

Vincent got up and approached someone... 

"Annie, can I have some of your time?" 

Vincent said that and looked towards Annie.

Paul, Ben, and James look at Vincent with an incredible expression and whisper... 

"A True Man..." 

The other looked at the back of the two disappearing figures and said.

"Even, Vincent was charmed by Annie..." 

"I don't believe it..." 

"That was an unexpected move by Vincent." 

"I'm surprised too." 

****

Mikasa looks towards the two disappearing back and looks towards Eren though for a moment and asks... 

"Eren, are you too charmed by Annie?" 

"Huh, what are you talking about? And Vincent is not charm by Annie, helook for her, because of her strength and skills" 

Everyone was facepalm at Eren's answer but Mikasa was relieved and asked one more time. 

"Then, you're not charming right?" 

"Of course not! What are you even saying Mikasa" 

Annie followed Vincent and said, when... 

"What do you want? For your information, you're not my type-" 

Vincent suddenly turns around and kicks Annie... 

Wossh~ 

"What are you doing, Vincent!" 

Annie jumps back in time and dodge the kick... 

"You're not bad Annie, I'm just here to test your skills in fighting..." 

"Then... here I go" 

Looking at the sky Vincent looked down and said towards Annie who was on the ground.

"You're better than expected..." 

"What! I don't want you inviting me in the middle of the night and beating me isn't that a crime?" 

"Hahaha, Sorry I'm just curious" 

"But where did you learn that?" 

"With my dad..." 

"Ohhh..." 

Vincent then started walking towards the boys lodging room and said. 

"Then, see you tomorrow" 

"Wait... my legs are still hurting" 

Vincent ignores Annie and walks inside the lodging room.

Entering and seeing the boys scrutinizing, investigative gazes.

"... don't worry we just spar for a bit..." 

"As if we believe that!"
