《Nightmare》A Stronger Body

We make our way deep within the forest. He find a river and I look at Liz. “I am going to go cover our tracks.” She doesn’t say anything for a second but gets out.
“Okay.” I get out and head back down the path making sure no one could follow us. I walk back down the path trying to get my head back on straight. Those things I did to those men. They deserved it and what they could have done to Liz. I shake those thoughts out of my head. “No one is going to hurt her.” Wolf appears next to me and I look at him. “What do you want?” He doesn’t say anything. “What? Let me guess. Oh I am becoming more and more like Nightmare. I am becoming something that I hate? What? What do you want Wolf!” I scream at him as he frowns at me.
“Go look in the river.” He disappears and reappears near the rivers edge. I frown going over to the river. I look down in it a see someone different looking back at me. My once brown eyes have hints of purple specks throughout them. My brown hair is slowly becoming darker. My chest catches my eye as the small tattoo is larger. It has spread down to my stomach. The light lines are like vines as they are outlined with black. I frown looking away from the river
“You are changing Zack. It’s only a matter of time before you won’t recognize yourself.” I look at my hands thinking for a moment.
“I just need to finish off the Infection. Right?” Wolf doesn’t say anything and I look at him. He is looking at a few birds flying away. I look up to them and slowly look at him. “Wolf.. I..” He slowly starts to fade away as a smile comes across his face.

“You know.. You are different then him. He never let anything go.” He completely fades away as Flint appears next to me.
“Finally. Zack. I’ve been trying to reach you for weeks.” I look at him for a second and shake my head.
“You know what Flint. I think I can handle it from here for a little.” Flint pauses looking confused.
“No Zack. The last time we did this..” I cut him off.
“No. I don’t mean I don’t need you anymore. I am just going to take a break from you. Look at me. I am slowly becoming you.” He pauses looking me over. He makes a face of understanding.
“I understand. I will only come back once you call me.”
“Thank you..” He disappears and I sigh. I slowly walk back to the makeshift camp we have. I walk into camp and see Leonard approaching me. “How are you Leonard?” I get a slight headache and I shake it off.
“Good. I was worried for a second but I am much better now. I am going to make some food to lift everyone’s spirits.”
“That’s a good idea. Thanks.” I walk past him going to Wart and Eyes. Wart looks over Eyes protectively. Eyes is in a deep sleep as Wart looks to me.
“Something is wrong with Snake-Eyes Zack. She never gets sick.” I frown slightly.
“Maybe Leonard can look at her later?” Wart snorts and dots her head with a rag.
“Maybe.” I get up and head over to Liz. She is in the back of the van. I get in with her and grab a white t-shirt putting it on. She is still wearing my cloak.
“Hey.. Do you want your cloak back?” I pause for a second.

“Um.. No. You can keep for a little bit longer.” She bungles up in it.
“It makes me feel safe for a weird reason.” I pause for a second and slip in next to her. I put my arm around her and hug her.
“Yea. It is very special.” She hugs me close.
“I thought I was going…” She grips my shirt angrily. “Without you..” She looks up at me. This moment she looks completely innocent, sweet, loving, just the perfect person in the world. “I don’t know where I would be without you.” We lock eyes for a second and she closes them slightly lifting her mouth to mine. I close my eyes and kiss her. The kiss is amazing. I feel myself melt into the kiss. We pull away and I look at her. She is bright red and looks away. I smile slightly leaning against her. A few minutes later, Leonard brings over some soup for us.
“Here you go guys. Also, you can sleep if you want Zack. I can keep watch.” I pause for a second.
“Alright thanks.” I accept the soup and Liz slowly eats it. She yawns slightly and keeps eating it. I slowly eat it and it feels warm. Almost cozy. Liz finishes hers fully leaning against me.
“Please never leave me again.” I pause suppressing a yawn. I frown slightly. This is the first time in forever I’ve been tired.
“I won’t..” She falls asleep as my vision fades in and out. I shake my head slightly falling asleep.

A New Leaf
When people mention fantasy games and RPGs, they usually think of goblins, elves, orcs, dwarves and magic (apart from the percentage that gets an image of an anti-tank weapon in their mind, I will respectfully put those individuals aside for now). But what if you get neither of those (not even the weapon, I know, sad)? And what if you end up playing as something that doesn't look like an animal at all? And what if the said game you were playing weren't actually a game, but real life changed by irresponsible, beyond-mortal beings? Follow the (mis)adventures of "player" 13241, a.k.a. Treant, as he experiences what it's like to be a walking magical fruit maker (among other things). When the world goes to hell and back, plants are the ones that remain, right?
