《Nightmare》Union Square

We travel for the next couple of days. She barely speaks to me only when giving me orders. The closer we get to Union Square I feel a strange pull to go there. One night we stop near an abandoned gas station. After securing the area, she looks at me as I bring in the sleeping bags.
“I am going to go scout a house I saw a few miles back. I will be back later.” She leaves before I can talk to her. I huff and set up the sleeping area. I yawn getting comfortable in my sleeping bag.
“Zack Day. I am sorry for leaving you earlier.” I jump as Flint walks into view. I frown getting up.
“What the hell are you doing to me?” I say with anger. Flint sighs for a second and looks out a window.
“I owe you some answers. Well what do you want to know?” I frown going up to him.
“A bunch of things. What’s with the evil looking you? The younger version? Who’s Martha? What the hell am I?” A mix of emotions cross his face from anger to sadness. He looks at me.
“The truth?” I nod and he looks out the window. “I will answer them in order then. The evil looking one is me. There are many of them. You will deal with only a few of them. I will try my best to make sure you only deal with me though.”
“Why only you?”
“Because I am the only one who can truly help you. The other forms of me are from different parts of my life. There were moments in my life where I was not a good person Zack. I am the best option to make sure you stay alive and stay good.” I frown at the comment about being a not good person. “You won’t need to worry about Martha. End of discussion for that topic. Finally what are you? I truly don’t know.”
“... What are you?”
“I am many things depending on who you ask. A great hero or a terrible monster. A Savior or a Plague. All that doesn’t matter now Zack. All that matters now is that you take up the mantel now.”
“Which is what?”
“Making sure the world is safe. The first thing we need to do is to collect my cloak. That holds most of my power. After that, we will train you in how to use it.”
“... What if I don’t want too? I never asked for this.”
“I know you didn’t, but you will never save your brother if you don’t.” I pause getting worried.
“He’s alive?” Flint nods.
“.. Fine. So the cloak is at Union Square?” Flint looks at me and smiles.
“Yes. However, it is surrounded by the Infection. You will need to sneak your way through it and make your way to the middle of it.” I look out the window for a second and a question comes to my mind.
“I have one more question. What is going to happen to Elizabeth once we get there?” Flint doesn’t say anything for a second.

“I am certain you will find evidence of her parents there.” I pause for a second and look at him.
“I’ve been getting..” I stop seeing that he is gone. I frown kicking some trash aside. “Thanks a lot Flint.” I head to the sleeping bag and lay down. I stare up at the ceiling and I wait for Elizabeth to come back. I hear her footsteps enter the room and he breath is heavy. She stumbles over the sleeping area and I look at her. She is bleeding for one of her arms and her gas mask is cracked. I stand up feeling worried about her but she holds her other arm up at me.
“I’m not Infected. I was attacked by a couple of bandits. You don’t have to kill me.” I frown slightly annoyed and go over to her.
“I wasn’t even thinking that. I am more worried about your bleeding arm.” She pauses for a second almost like she doesn’t know how to react. “Let me treat your wound.” She shakes her head no.
“I can do it.” She sounds annoyed and slightly shocked. I give her a look and she sighs removing her gas mask. “Fine. Don’t fuck it up.” She removes her robes to show that she is wearing a tank top and black leggings that hug her body. For such bulky clothing, she has a tiny frame. “Stop staring at my body and fix me up.” I look at her face and see her slightly blushing but looks pissed.
“I wasn’t staring..” I grab the medical pack and bring it over to her. I start by cleaning her cut on the arm. It looks like she was just grazed by a bullet. She inhales slightly and hits me.
“That hurts! You’re suppose to say this will burn.” She says through her teeth. I glare slightly at her.
“Sorry I am use.. Nevermind.” I stop for a second remembering all the times I worked on my brother. “I am going to stitch it up now. So it’s going to hurt.” She nods and grips the table as I start to stitch together her cut. After I am done, I bandage it up. I look at her. “All done.” She looks at the arm for a second then looks at me.
“.. Thanks.” She gets up and collects her robes. She starts to clean them as I head over to the sleeping area. “Your brother taught you a lot huh?” I pause surprised that she initiated conversation.
“Yea. He did. My guess is that your parents taught you?” She doesn’t talk for a minute and she comes over to the sleeping area. She lays down in her sleeping bag.
“Goodnight.” I pause looking at her for a second and shrug rolling over.
“Night Elizabeth.” For a second I hearing nothing. I hear her shift away from me.
“It’s Liz.” I pause for a second and smile slightly.
“My name’s Zack.”
“I don’t care.” She goes to sleep and I slowly go to sleep. I am awakened in the morning by her foot kicking me. “Get up we need to move.” I sit up wishing that I got more sleep. I get up and we both clean up the little camp that I made. Once everything is packed up in the car, we continue our way to Union Square.

Union Square is the closest large city in the surrounding countryside. Once we get close Liz pulls the car over before heading into the city. We get out and from the looks of it, it looks abandoned. Many of the towering skyscrapers as dark and the surrounding buildings have destruction all over them. Liz looks over at me after scanning the city. “Where are they?” I pause for a second and point told the middle of the city.
“There.” I see her frown as she goes to the car getting dressed in her robes. I go to follow her but I hear a woman's voice call me.
“Come to me my son.” I pause and look around for the woman. I am unable to find her and go to Liz.
“Ready? The place is suppose to swarming with Infected. So, we need to be cautious.” She looks at me with her gas mask on.
“I am not an idiot. Lead the way.” I lead the way to the middle of the city. We take back alleys and side streets. We stop when Infected slowly stumble pass us. Every so often, I would hear the woman's voice call for me and I look at Liz seeing if she would hear it. She gives no indication that she did. I must be going crazy. As we reach the middle of the city, there is a park. Black tendrils cover the entrance and a large group of Infected circle the outside of it. Liz gets close to me and whispers
“That must be the place. How do you plan on getting us in there?” I frown trying to think but I feel all I can do is rush the place. I must get there. I feel Liz shake me a little and I look at her.
“Hmm? Oh.. I..” I look around the surrounding area and see a car. “Do you have anything I can throw?” She pauses and digs out an old baseball. I throw the baseball into the air a few times and throw at the car window. It hits the window and shatters it. An alarm starts to go off alerting everything in the city. All the Infected surrounding the park swarm the car tearing it apart. Liz and me dash to the park and make it inside.
“Start thinking. Now where are my parents?” I can’t respond as I slowly approach a statue in the middle of the park. The statue is of a beautiful women wearing wondrous robes. She is holding in on of her hands a real black cloak. The cloak calls to me. I reach out for it as I feel Liz pull me away. “Where the hell are my parents Zack?!?” I hear anger in her voice and I shake my head slightly not understanding her.
“I need my cloak.” My voice sounds weird. A little deeper and darker. A loud scream pulls our attention away from each other. A large creature like the one who took my brother charges us. I tackle Liz out of the way as it barely misses us. She starts to shoot her gun at it and it turns around getting ready to charge again. I roll off of Liz and take off as it starts to chase me. I dodge to the left at the last second as it crashes into a tree. The tree falls to the ground shatter into a thousand little pieces. Liz throws something that sticks to the creature. She yells at me.
“Get down!” I jump out of the way as the creature explodes. I look up to see Infected parts all over the destroyed tree. I stand up and head over to her.
“Hey are you okay?” She hits me with the butt of her gun and I grab my head in pain. “Ouch. Why the hell did you do that?”
“You lied to me! We came from that stupid cloak!” I frown for a second trying to think of my way out of this.
“... I.. wait..” Something catches my eye from the Infected pieces. I walk to it and see a bag on it. I reach down to it and pick it up. Liz points her gun at me.
“Wait are you doing?” I look through the bag and pause.
“Come take a look at this.” She pauses and slowly walks over as I hand her papers. She looks through them and pauses.
“.. I don’t..”
“They were here. They left when the city fell. They are heading to a place up north.” In my head, I think about how lucky I was to find this. She looks over the papers for a little bit.
“.. Sorry.” I let out a sigh of relief as I look over to the statue. I see Flint standing behind it waiting for me. I look at Liz for a second.
“It’s fine. I understand how worried you are about your parents.” She keeps looking through the papers as I slip from her. I go over to Flint but realizing it’s not him. It’s the evil looking one.
“Zack Day.” I glare at him slightly.
“Nightmare. What do you want?” He smirks at me looking me up and down.
“I might have been wrong about you. You might not die.” I roll my eyes at him going to the cloak.
“I am here to give you a warning.” I pause looking at him.
“I don’t believe you.” He laughs a little bit leaning against the statue.
“I don’t care if you do or not. The cloak is powerful but she will try to control you. Do not let that happen.” I pause confused looking for at the cloak.
“What do you mean?” I look back to see him gone. I groan angry and reach up grabbing the cloak.

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***

He turned to look at them, "What should we do with you now?" He asked, lowering himself to my face.
